Is Feminism Going Too Far?

So I'm curious: in what ways do you think feminism has swung too far and started working to the detriment of men?[/QUOTE]

The root of feminism was that there was a huge imbalance between the male and female roles in humanity. Women wanted equality... the same freedoms of men, such as the right to vote, the right to choose any profession she desired, to be considered an equal in intelligence, etc. In the last several thousand years, the balance has been way off; it has been completely dominated by masculine energy. Men took all of the power and created the illusion that women were weaker in all ways, physical, mental, spiritual. That illusion held strong in both men's and women's mindset/paradigm for these thousands of years. Things started shifting in a big way in America when women were called to action during WWII when they had to replace the male workers since they were off to war. The country was able to continue working to support the whole war effort and women did a hell of a job. I think that this changed the minds of many women that saw for the first time that they were capable of doing things that were never open or even allowed of them to even try. The men came home after WWII to a different mindset of women in a big way. Even before this, women were becoming uncomfortable with the closed off lives they were forced to live. It was uncomfortable and unbalanced. The feminist movement was absolutely necessary to gain some of this balance back!! Unfortunately a SMALL (small people!!!) group of these women went to the far other side of the spectrum and wanted things to be all feminine and NO masculine.... this is merely the opposite the way in which women lived for thousands of years, really!)....however, this small group of women unfortunately became the entire FACE of feminism, and that is just so sad. The true feminist exists in women AND men that see that both sexes have something wonderful to give to society as a whole. That men and women both offer great qualities, and when men and women come together in projects, work, families, etc (when they are BALANCED)... the outcomes are greatly improved because of the balance of the energies. No sex is greater than the other. In fact we all hold male and female energies within each of ourselves. Male energy is straight lines, goal oriented, make it happen! Female energy is curved lines, creative thinking/process oriented, emotional. These blend together perfectly when balanced!! It is such a simple concept yet it still eludes the majority of humanity!!! Imagine if we could balance these energies....the entire planet would change.

Feminism has been a weapon that has been used by the elite for several different types of attacks.

That's true but there are still many genuine feminists... men and women who are working toward women's equality in the world.

Unfortunately, feminism and others movements today increasingly loses credibility. All is done to create disagreement and segregation. :(

Mainstream feminism that stems from the feminist movements that happened in America in the 60s only care about the rights of middle-class white women. You should read some academic work on feminism and then you'll see how racist these feminists really were when it came to African-American women.

How is it embarrassing for women to want to be treated with respect? The feminist movement started because women were/are not treated as equals and they wanted the same rights that men have.
Right because the Rockfellers, the family that funded the movement, and upper middle class Jewish women were so concerned with the rights of women lol.

There was a real imbalance when the movement started, and it grew stronger since it had a real cause. Women treated like chattel, with no voice or vote over their own life's. So when things started to change women jump on the bandwagon fast. There have been women all over history that have done wonderful things only to find themselves forgotten or their actions stealed by men.

The movement has been distorted and/or probably created for the wrong reasons, but the real need of equality exist today.

It shouldn't be only about being able to do men's jobs, it should be about making traditional women's job as important and valuable as men's, which unfortunately is not happening. Home makers and stay at home moms now days are mostly seen as big fat women that sit in their bums all day watching soap operas and eating candy. Women heartbroken at work because they can't stay with their children, or just generally unhappy because she will prefer being home and take care of it, or women staying home taking care of her children and home and feeling less because she is not bringing in nay money are real manifestations of this inequality.

What rights do men have that women don't in today's world?

The individuals who began and supported the movement were in it for women's rights.

I'm talking about the present day, all races of humans are supporting each other and working towards women's equality. Feminists today shouldn't disregard any women for their race... they're trying to help all women, not some.

Ugh! I had wrote a long beautiful answer to @Kung Fu's last question when my browser froze :(

So the short answer is legally rights are all the same for men and women, in practice, not.
If they were, women wouldn't have to prove themselves all the time at their jobs, especially in power positions. Naturally related traits as feminine would not be seen as weaknesses, and men having some of those traits wouldn't been considered less of a man, and men wouldn't feel threatened by strong woman.

Unfortunately when a movement losses it's real roots, the ones that gave power to the movement, counter-movements appear, MGTOW is a sign of that. There is clearly an unbalance, and the more on side pushes towards it's own ideology, the harder the other does the same.

We are male and female for a very important reason. There are things that come more naturally to males and there are other things that come more naturally to females, but that doesn't mean that males are incapable of performing female things (with the obvious exception of pregnancy and delivery) or the other way around. Some woman are very good at men's traditional jobs and some men very good at women's traditional jobs, and that shouldn't take anything away from any them.

I know a couple of very happy and well adjusted families were the father is a stay at home dad taking care of the kids and home, and the mom is a career person "bringing home the bacon", there is hope.
