Men make God out to whom they want Him to be. They constantly quote Scripture, carnally, to fit and make God to fit their delusions that makes their life style and reasoning to satisfy their understanding. Law and works, Jesus was only a good man are just a few of the carnal teachings. The Church is the new Israel, You must tithe and keep the Sabbath are a few more...…..But God is who He is, not who you make Him. People argue about His name, But He is God.
I met an old school friend on FaceBook that I went to school with. She was from an Amish (modern) family and I had not seen her for many years. We would chat back and forth now and then, but one day she wrote about someone that was sick who got well, and I wrote back praise the Lord, that He is good. Her response was that I should not have mentioned God, that she had a lot of friends that would read it and it was not my place to insert God in my post that her friends could read?
Later on (some time after that) I told her she needed the Lord in your life and she said, why would you say that, I do have the lord in my life. Her idea of God was hers that fit her life style with her friends. It grieves me that people are satisfied with their ideas about God. If He does not come while we are here, then we will go to Him when we pass. Like Paul, I'am never satisfied with myself in service to the Lord as all born again believers feel they could do more, but you who argue over words or doctrines so called will be with the five foolish virgins that Christ does not recognize. I'am not telling you that as if thou it is my idea, Those are the words of The Savior of all who call upon His name.
