I usually feel like I have control of my stuff. I’ve been feeling panicked lately.

Idk. I have feasible work hours 8-4. Just feel like everything after 4 I try to cram in too much at the moment.

Yes I have and thanks for the comments! I think Steven Covey calls these chores urgent and important.
The quadrant we should try to pay attention to is the yellow one with issues that are important but not urgent.
I try to make those by numbers 1 and 2 things to do first thing in the day before urgent and important or my time wasters and distractions take over.
Noticed however, that my schedule gets off balance when I have family/guests visiting or something new happening:).
Thanks for sharing Maes!

Thank you for your advices. I've thought about this matter of will, goals etc. What is helping me is planning the day, having more energy (by like eating) and meditating.

If you don't like meditation you may try breathing retraining like "Buteyko method", to calm your breathing. Basically, it is about breathing less in a given time (taking less air, to increase carbon dioxide). You can check your health level by counting your amount of breaths and compare it with the statistics. Dr Artour Rakhimov is good on this.

My priorities personally
- son - he’s 8, smart, independent, quick learner. So I’m comfy leaving him on his own when I have house task or whatever.
-wife - 7 months pregnant, so I’m in the worry mode phase making sure she’s taking it easy, always being a helicopter hubby. I know she’s a strong missy, but I do worry lol.
-exercise - it’s my mental get away from any stress. My outlet. I have a home gym that allows me to channel any stress into a controlled aggression.
- detailing - my personal vehicles I do weekly maintenance washes, vacuuming. So I don’t have to go too crazy, but some of my neighbors have been paying me cash to do their vehicles. I’ve spent a good 3 hours on my neighbors car last week. Put on music. Was an awesome get away

You definitely have a full schedule Maes so it is good to know that you know what you need to de-stress. When I had a fuller schedule I would pay attention to those things that helped my sense of balance:)
Stephen Covey calls it things that sharpen the saw:
I can relate to his list below especially the learning part and the spiritual part but the first 2 are fundamental
....the fundies are definitely adequate sleep/rest/nutrition and meaningful connections with the fam.
Thanks for your comments!:)

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw®

Seek continuous improvement and renewal professionally and personally.

Sharpen the Saw means preserving and enhancing the greatest asset you have--you. It means having a balanced program for self-renewal in the four areas of your life: physical, social/emotional, mental, and spiritual. Here are some examples of activities:

Physical:Beneficial eating, exercising, and resting
Social/Emotional:Making social and meaningful connections with others
Mental:Learning, reading, writing, and teaching
Spiritual:Spending time in nature, expanding spiritual self through meditation, music, art, prayer, or service

Yeah pretty full. Landed a full detail gig. Had my interview and paper work, clock in stuff set up today. Start tomorrow, but my mind is at ease work wise.

Big thing on my mind is my wife/pregnancy baby. Of course she’s calling me a drama queen, in my ear to relax, but I worry. Worry about labor complications, society/future etc.

The rest I’m starting to slow down and manage and not feel panicked with.

Simon Sinek - Understanding Empathy

I absolutely LOVE this , DR!!! You might see that I "liked" it first, but changed my mind when I was ½ way through!!! It's so inspirational! I think if anyone's listening to these videos, they should listen to polymoog's first and then yours as I think poly's is an excellent segue to Simon's talk.

this is the whole lecture.
theres a playlist somewhere with individual lectures. (about 1 hr long)
i am up to #3.
now, trudeau is in jail at the moment. jay parker (conspiracy guy) said they (FTC/FDA) did not go after him for the cures book. it was this lecture. after #2, i was floored that he started talking about illuminati and skull and bones, so i am intrigued by it just from a conspiracy point of view.
hes basically integrating the law of attraction into a unconscious reaction for people so that they can manifest whatever they want. all of the comments on YT have been very positive.

Thanks for your contribution to this thread.
The law of attraction is dubious as far as I am concerned, probably works sometimes for these secret society people who get help from the occult energies, but will give it a listen!
I checked out Kevin Trudeau a few years ago so weird that they would put him in jail for false advertising regarding supplements, if I remember correctly.

glad to help.
im on about the 5th or 6th lecture.
its funny; a lot of these time management/goal videos discuss things which i have already come to that same conclusion. although this one does as well, trudeau seems to answer a few questions, seemingly without any doubt.
he answered one question saying that the moment you stop desiring something or wishing for something and change feelings towards it immediately ends it. i had always wondered that myself if there was some kind of residual "desire" floating around in the ethos. according to him, POOF! its off.
his main gist is that the secret society people know this trick and have made it a subconscious habit so theyre constantly manifesting.
the mans voice is nice and clear. my only gripe is that he sometimes over-explains it.
im liking it.

You know I wouldn't be surprised that they have more knowledge about our inner workings.
The personality tests mbti/enneagram are occult based as well. ( It took me a while to understand and acknowledge that!)
Plus there is a mind/body connection that operates at a level we are not aware about.
With desires I think people may have them but we are not in charge of results. That is why I am manifesting desires stuff sound off to myself.

Here is a video I really enjoyed this week. I am starting to take intermittent fasting seriously!
On a side note, what I like about Tom Bilyeu's videos is that he has the different headings for his conversations so you can zip along to the area that interests you. Enjoy!

trudeaus opinion is that we CAN be in charge of the results. its a matter of focus. he said in the last episode that you can desire a specific object and get it, but its MUCH easier to desire the feeling you will have for what you want. the more general the better. instead of just a rolex, desire "a watch that youll greatly enjoy".

the lectures start with him giving a breakdown of that old movie, "what the bleep do we know?'' talking about waves and particles and how everything is a wave form. this is the workings of all of this, and thats all scientifically documented. his lectures go about applying those principles.

ill check out the tom video. im not sure how much more younger and handsome i can get, though....

Greetings! This is a topic that I have obsessed over, read many books about and struggle with in a good way.
Sometimes I win and sometimes I lose. I try not to lose past an acceptable point that I determined for myself. Feel free to share stories (including your own) , inspirational articles or videos , struggles and/or successes with these themes.

Carpe is the second-person singular present active imperative of carpō "pick or pluck" used by Horace to mean "enjoy, seize, use, make use of".[2] Diem is the accusative case of the noun dies "day". A more literal translation of "carpe diem" would thus be "pluck the day [as it is ripe]"—that is, enjoy the moment.
(Or Act Now!)

I will probably share videos and articles about this topic on an ongoing basis. I even signed up with websites to seize my day, but it really is not rocket science when you think in terms of Act Now:
THE 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE BY STEPHEN COVEY - ANIMATED BOOK REVIEW
How to Set Goals That Will Actually Make You Happy!
PNTV: Time Warrior by Steve Chandler
HOW TO HAVE MORE WILLPOWER - THE WILLPOWER INSTINCT BY KELLY MCGONIGAL ANIMATED BOOK REVIEW
Oh, I read another book by Covey, forever ago, that said not to hang out in bed after waking up. Once you're awake, just get up and start doing stuff. I don't even think it was one of the main points of the book, but it just stuck with me... it's still a personal rule to this day.
