They don’t sound so nice to me..
Dozens of NYC inmates back in jail after coronavirus release
Wilmer Colindres, the man charged with attacking a DHS officer, was jailed on assault and harassment charges in November for the incident, court records show. While behind bars, he was hit with a new charge of forcible touching after allegedly grabbing a physician’s rear.

The re-offenders — just over 3 percent of those released — include a Rikers Island inmate initially jailed for allegedly setting his girlfriend’s door on fire and choking her mother, who was released early only to return to the Bronx apartment and allegedly threaten to kill the whole family.
Daeshawn Sharperson, the 31-year-old Bronx man who admitted he torched his girlfriend’s door, pleaded guilty to criminal mischief, dodging felony charges, and got a four-month sentence. But his sentence was cut short when he was among about 100 inmates released early on March 26 over COVID-19 concerns.

so which is it, jess? do you want these males who have physically assaulted women to be in jail, like you state in the 'r*pe culture is a myth' thread, or set free for corona?

Lmao... your a fun one huh? Which is it for you? The vast majority of the people released did not reoffend. And I do not agree with holding people without bail before they are found guilty in most cases to begin with, I’d assume someone concerned with individual rights would agree with that?

He got a four month sentence. Who’s fault is that? When you have a jacket for criminal mischief it’s a low level offense and then yeah you qualify for release.. why aren’t you mad at the system that allowed him to plead down to that? That’s where your anger should be directed.

I’m sure it’s a very convenient theory to hold.. release inmates and crime goes up. That doesn’t make it accurate though. Correlation does not equal causation and the data on released inmates which I posted should show this. My guess is that the crime rates are going up due to economic issues, the scarcity of narcotics supplies (and buyers cuz they are broke) causing increased competition among street gangs, and “cabin fever” colliding in a real weird place.

as for the sex offender issue I did not realize they were releasing them since that doesn’t seem to fit the requirements I read for release. But then again, sex offenders (and domestic abusers tbh) are treated with kiddie gloves by the “justice system” on a regular basis anyway so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

The best way to protest against the police is simply to not get arrested, period.

And if anyone does get arrested. Definitely plead not guilty.

You mean..be a law abiding citizen? What an idea!
I'm glad you like my sure-fire plan to defund the police. Of course, someone like you would try to find justification for a billion-dollar police budget with zero crime.

There isn’t zero crime though..police are relevant and needed...and they do their jobs and keep crime lower.
