Because a massive amount of left wing voters support the minority groups. It's by extension that the minority becomes a sizable voting block.
Well that makes more sense.. to this foreigner anyway.
But isn't she gamblng too much on numbers of fence-sitting people who did a protest vote against Clinton/ Democrat party to be pro-LGBT+ enough to return to their usual party? However won't that make socially conservative states even more likely to vote for Trump again?
(Yes, that is another topic completely..)

Yeah, it's a gamble. She'll be pushing the moderates to a third party or Trump.

Or.. maybe it is just to validate them and their cause. Make them think, along with everyone else, there is more of them. Otherwise, we would have to believe our votes are actually counted, and serve to determine the next leader (lol) of the country.
