the two above are in a league of their own. numan had his breakdown after the teletour and the music began to decline.

after the warriors album, the music composition changed and become too complicated. his latest stuff is too gothic for me. without cedric sharpley, something was not right.
I always liked both Cars and Down in the Park back in the day even though I found both the songs and Numan creepy as well since he always seemed nearly robotic in his demeanor.I heard 'cars' on the radio a few weeks ago, and it made me cringe. IMHO Numan is a creeper.
It's surprising to me that he hasn't ended up in movies like other musicians have. He has very distinctive look, and would be a natural as a villain in a SF or horror moviei am a big fan of gary numans early albums and his tubeway army stuff.

Now that I am older and was able to research him, Numan has Aspergers, and his song Down in the Park was based on a science fiction story he wrote in his pre teens or early teens.
Numan seems to have adjusted to Aspergers as he has gotten older. In the late 70's and early 80's any interview with him he just seemed aloof and distant as if he was on something. Now he is very alert, and very quick on his feet.I have know people with Aspergers and can say they are quite odd but brilliant in many ways. One fellow I knew compared himself to Data from Star Trek TNG. He was very analytical, void of emotion and took everything literally but wanted so badly to be like everyone else.
hes said that he is a conservative in an older interview... not many musicians would say that. From what I understand he is an atheist who moved from the UK to the US because he abhors socialism. Very interesting.
I read in an interview where Gary said it was a huge relief to know the reason he was the way he was, was because of Aspergers. He is like a nu- man.Numan seems to have adjusted to Aspergers as he has gotten older. If he is an atheist, then what is he doing in the desert with a girl/woman with a cross painted on her forehead in the video originally postedI always liked both Cars and Down in the Park back in the day even though I found both the songs and Numan creepy as well since he always seemed nearly robotic in his demeanor.
Now that I am older and was able to research him, Numan has Aspergers, and his song Down in the Park was based on a science fiction story he wrote in his pre teens or early teens. The guy is definitely a genius, I am glad he is finally really starting to get some well deserved attention again.

I agree about Cedric Sharpley. He created a unique energy to Gary's music. Sadly, I found out today he had passed away in 2012.i am a big fan of gary numans early albums and his tubeway army stuff.
