It would not be reasonable in me if I did not serve Him Who created me, and to Whom you shall (all) be brought back.
[Ya-Seen 36:22]

Allah it is Who made the earth a dwelling place for you and made the sky a canopy, Who shaped you and shaped you exceedingly well and gave you good things as sustenance. That is Allah, your Lord; blessed be Allah, the Lord of the Universe.
[Ghaafir 40:64]

Answer the Call of your Lord (i.e. accept the Islamic Monotheism, O mankind, and jinns) before there comes from Allah a Day which cannot be averted.
[Al-Shuraa 42:47]

Those who say, “Our Lord is Allah,” then lead a righteous life—they have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve.
[Ahqaaf 46:13]

Is one who is devoutly obedient during periods of the night, prostrating and standing [in prayer], fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord, [like one who does not]? Say, "Are those who know equal to those who do not know?" Only they will remember [who are] people of understanding.

Say, [O Muhammad], "Praise be to Allah , and peace upon His servants whom He has chosen. Is Allah better or what they associate with Him?"
[More precisely], is He [not best] who created the heavens and the earth and sent down for you rain from the sky, causing to grow thereby gardens of joyful beauty which you could not [otherwise] have grown the trees thereof? Is there a deity with Allah ? [No], but they are a people who ascribe equals [to Him].
Is He [not best] who made the earth a stable ground and placed within it rivers and made for it firmly set mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier? Is there a deity with Allah ? [No], but most of them do not know.
Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allah ? Little do you remember.
Is He [not best] who guides you through the darknesses of the land and sea and who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy? Is there a deity with Allah ? High is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.
Is He [not best] who begins creation and then repeats it and who provides for you from the heaven and earth? Is there a deity with Allah ? Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful."
Say, "None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allah , and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected."
Rather, their knowledge is arrested concerning the Hereafter. Rather, they are in doubt about it. Rather, they are, concerning it, blind.
And those who disbelieve say, "When we have become dust as well as our forefathers, will we indeed be brought out [of the graves]?
We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before. This is not but legends of the former peoples."
Say, [O Muhammad], "Travel through the land and observe how was the end of the criminals."
And grieve not over them or be in distress from what they conspire.

And they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?"
Say, "Perhaps it is close behind you - some of that for which you are impatient.
And indeed, your Lord is full of bounty for the people, but most of them do not show gratitude."
And indeed, your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare.
And there is nothing concealed within the heaven and the earth except that it is in a clear Register.
Indeed, this Qur'an relates to the Children of Israel most of that over which they disagree.
And indeed, it is guidance and mercy for the believers.
Indeed, your Lord will judge between them by His [wise] judgement. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.
So rely upon Allah ; indeed, you are upon the clear truth.
Indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they have turned their backs
retreating.
And you cannot guide the blind away from their error. You will only make hear those who believe in Our verses so they are Muslims [submitting to Allah ].
And when the word befalls them, We will bring forth for them a creature from the earth speaking to them, [saying] that the people were, of Our verses, not certain [in faith].
And [warn of] the Day when We will gather from every nation a company of those who deny Our signs, and they will be [driven] in rows
Until, when they arrive [at the place of Judgement], He will say, "Did you deny My signs while you encompassed them not in knowledge, or what [was it that] you were doing?"
And the decree will befall them for the wrong they did, and they will not [be able to] speak.

Do they not see that We made the night that they may rest therein and the day giving sight? Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.
And [warn of] the Day the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified except whom Allah wills. And all will come to Him humbled.
And you see the mountains, thinking them rigid, while they will pass as the passing of clouds. [It is] the work of Allah , who perfected all things. Indeed, He is Acquainted with that which you do.
Whoever comes [at Judgement] with a good deed will have better than it, and they, from the terror of that Day, will be safe.
And whoever comes with an evil deed - their faces will be overturned into the Fire, [and it will be said], "Are you recompensed except for what you used to do?"
[Say, O Muhammad], "I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this city, who made it sacred and to whom [belongs] all things. And I am commanded to be of the Muslims [those who submit to Allah ]
And to recite the Qur'an." And whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] himself; and whoever strays - say, "I am only [one] of the warners."
And say, "[All] praise is [due] to Allah . He will show you His signs, and you will recognize them. And your Lord is not unaware of what you do."

And they say, "What is this messenger that eats food and walks in the markets? Why was there not sent down to him an angel so he would be with him a warner?
Or [why is not] a treasure presented to him [from heaven], or does he [not] have a garden from which he eats?" And the wrongdoers say, "You follow not but a man affected by magic."
Look how they strike for you comparisons; but they have strayed, so they cannot [find] a way.
Blessed is He who, if He willed, could have made for you [something] better than that - gardens beneath which rivers flow - and could make for you palaces.
But they have denied the Hour, and We have prepared for those who deny the Hour a Blaze.
When the Hellfire sees them from a distant place, they will hear its fury and roaring.
And when they are thrown into a narrow place therein bound in chains, they will cry out thereupon for destruction.
[They will be told], "Do not cry this Day for one destruction but cry for much destruction."
Say, "Is that better or the Garden of Eternity which is promised to the righteous? It will be for them a reward and destination.
For them therein is whatever they wish, [while] abiding eternally. It is ever upon your Lord a promise [worthy to be] requested.
And [mention] the Day He will gather them and that which they worship besides Allah and will say, "Did you mislead these, My servants, or did they [themselves] stray from the way?"
They will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for us to take besides You any allies. But You provided comforts for them and their fathers until they forgot the message and became a people ruined."
So they will deny you, [disbelievers], in what you say, and you cannot avert [punishment] or [find] help. And whoever commits injustice among you - We will make him taste a great punishment.
And We did not send before you, [O Muhammad], any of the messengers except that they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you [people] as trial for others - will you have patience? And ever is your Lord, Seeing.
And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence.
The day they see the angels - no good tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and [the angels] will say, "Prevented and inaccessible."
And We will regard what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.

The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place.
And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent.
True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day.
And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, "Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way.
Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend.
He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter."
And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned."
And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper.

O you enwrapped one,

stand up during the night except a little–

for half of it or reduce it a little

or add to it, and chant the Recital slowly and distinctly.

Indeed, We are about to cast upon you a heavy word.

The vigil of the night is indeed more intense and more upright for articulation.

Indeed, in the daytime you have lengthy work to do.

So remember the Name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with (solemn) devotion.

(He is) the Lord of the East and the West; there is no god but He, so take Him as a Trustee.

And endure patiently what they say, and withdraw from them politely.

And leave to Me the disbelievers, those of luxury, and give them a brief respite.

Indeed, We have shackles and a purgatory

and food that chokes and a painful punishment

on the day when the earth and the mountains tremble and the mountains became heaps of sand.

Indeed, We have sent to you a messenger as a witness over you, as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger.

But Pharaoh disobeyed the Messenger, so We seized him with a terrible seizing.

So how, if you deny, will you guard yourselves from a day which turns children gray-haired?

The heaven shatters thereby; His promise has always been fulfilled.

Indeed, this is a reminding, so whoever wills, let him take a way to his Lord.

Indeed, your Lord knows that you stand up nearly two-thirds of the night, and (sometimes you stand up) half of it, and (sometimes you stand up) one-third of it, along with a faction of those with you. And Allah determines the night and the day. He has known that you will be unable to sustain it, so He has pardoned you. So recite of the Recital whatever is easy (for you). He knew that some of you will be ill, and others traveling through the land seeking a share of Allah’s grace, and others combating in the way of Allah, so read of it what is possible for you, and establish the prayer, and bring the purifying charity, and lend Allah a good loan. And whatever good you advance for yourselves, you will find it with Allah; it will be better and greater in reward. And seek Allah’s forgiveness; indeed, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Bestowing of mercy.

And when they see you, [O Muhammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a messenger?
He almost would have misled us from our gods had we not been steadfast in [worship of] them." But they are going to know, when they see the punishment, who is farthest astray in [his] way.
Have you seen the one who takes as his god his own desire? Then would you be responsible for him?
Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock. Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way.

These verses are like a punch in the gut, they wake you up:

21:1 ˹The time of˺ people’s judgment has drawn near, yet they are heedlessly turning away.
21:2 Whatever new reminder comes to them from their Lord, they only listen to it jokingly,
21:3 with their hearts ˹totally˺ distracted. The evildoers would converse secretly, ˹saying,˺ “Is this ˹one˺ not human like yourselves? Would you fall for ˹this˺ witchcraft, even though you can ˹clearly˺ see?”
21:4 The Prophet responded, “My Lord ˹fully˺ knows every word spoken in the heavens and the earth. For He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.”
21:5 Yet they say, “This ˹Quran˺ is a set of confused dreams! No, he has fabricated it! No, he must be a poet! So let him bring us a ˹tangible˺ sign like those ˹prophets˺ sent before.”
21:6 Not a ˹single˺ society We destroyed before them ever believed ˹after receiving the signs˺. Will these ˹pagans˺ then believe?
21:7 We did not send ˹messengers˺ before you ˹O Prophet˺ except mere men inspired by Us. If you ˹polytheists˺ do not know ˹this already˺, then ask those who have knowledge ˹of the Scriptures˺.
21:8 We did not give those messengers ˹supernatural˺ bodies that did not need food, nor were they immortal.
21:9 Then We fulfilled Our promise to them, saving them along with whoever We willed and destroying the transgressors.
21:10 We have surely revealed to you a Book, in which there is glory for you. Will you not then understand?
21:11 ˹Imagine˺ how many societies of wrongdoers We have destroyed, raising up other people after them!
21:12 When the wrongdoers sensed ˹the arrival of˺ Our torment, they started to run away from their cities.
21:13 ˹They were told,˺ “Do not run away! Return to your luxuries and your homes, so you may be questioned ˹about your fate˺.”
21:14 They cried, “Woe to us! We have surely been wrongdoers.”
21:15 They kept repeating their cry until We mowed them down, ˹leaving them˺ lifeless.
21:16 We did not create the heavens and the earth and everything in between for sport.
21:17 Had We intended to take ˹some˺ amusement, We could have found it in Our presence, if that had been Our Will.
21:18 In fact, We hurl the truth against falsehood, leaving it crushed, and it quickly vanishes. And woe be to you for what you claim!
21:19 To Him belong all those in the heavens and the earth. And those nearest to Him are not too proud to worship Him, nor do they tire.
21:20 They glorify ˹Him˺ day and night, never wavering.
21:21 Or have they taken gods from the earth, who can raise the dead?
21:22 Had there been other gods besides Allah in the heavens or the earth, both ˹realms˺ would have surely been corrupted. So Glorified is Allah, Lord of the Throne, far above what they claim.
21:23 He cannot be questioned about what He does, but they will ˹all˺ be questioned.

For those who disbelieve and hinder ˹others˺ from the Way of Allah, We will add more punishment to their punishment for all the corruption they spread.
˹Consider, O Prophet,˺ the Day We will call against every faith-community a witness of their own. And We will call you to be a witness against these ˹people of yours˺. We have revealed to you the Book as an explanation of all things, a guide, a mercy, and good news for those who ˹fully˺ submit.
Indeed, Allah commands justice, grace, as well as courtesy to close relatives. He forbids indecency, wickedness, and aggression. He instructs you so perhaps you will be mindful.
Honour Allah’s covenant when you make a pledge, and do not break your oaths after confirming them, having made Allah your guarantor. Surely Allah knows all you do.
Do not be like the woman who ˹foolishly˺ unravels her yarn after it is firmly spun, by taking your oaths as a means of deceiving one another in favour of a stronger group. Surely Allah tests you through this. And on the Day of Judgment He will certainly make your differences clear to you.
Had Allah willed, He could have easily made you one community ˹of believers˺, but He leaves to stray whoever He wills and guides whoever He wills. And you will certainly be questioned about what you used to do.
And do not take your oaths as a means of deceiving one another or your feet will slip after they have been firm. Then you will taste the evil ˹consequences˺ of hindering ˹others˺ from the Way of Allah, and you will suffer a tremendous punishment.
And do not trade Allah’s covenant for a fleeting gain. What is with Allah is certainly far better for you, if only you knew.
Whatever you have will end, but whatever Allah has is everlasting. And We will certainly reward the steadfast according to the best of their deeds.
Whoever does good, whether male or female, and is a believer, We will surely bless them with a good life, and We will certainly reward them according to the best of their deeds.
When you recite the Quran, seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the accursed.
He certainly has no authority over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord.
His authority is only over those who take him as a patron and who—under his influence—associate ˹others˺ with Allah ˹in worship˺.
16:88-100
