Why once saved always saved is no bueno, non bien, nicht gut, no good!

1.) If it happened to the Israelites it can happen to you...God tells us we are not better than Israel.
Romans 11:17-25‬ ‭
“But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you. You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear;
for if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either. Behold then the kindness and severity of God but to you, God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off. And they also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these who are the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree? For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery—so that you will not be wise in your own estimation—that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.”
‭‭
2.) Falling away....The Bible tells us falling away is a possibility for those in the faith...Jesus, Peter, Paul and the writer of Hebrews knew of it.

Matthew 24:10
At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another.

Matthew 26:33
But Peter said to Him, "Even though all may fall away because of You, I will never fall away."

1 Timothy 4:1
But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons.

2 Peter 2:20-21‬ ‭
For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them.

2 Peter 3:14-18‬ ‭
Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless, and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

Hebrews 2:1‬-3
For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it. “For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty, how will we escape if we neglect so great a
salvation?

Hebrews 3:12-14
Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end.

3.) How does the falling away happen?
2 Timothy 4:3-4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.
‭‭
Galatians 5:2-9
Behold I, Paul, say to you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no benefit to you. And I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is under obligation to keep the whole Law. You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit, by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love. You were running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth? This persuasion did not come from Him who calls you. A little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough.

Colossians 2:8‬ ‭
See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.
‭‭

4.) What happens to those who fall away....because there is a punishment for falling away.

Hebrews 6:4-8
For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. For ground that drinks the rain which often falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God; but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close to being cursed, and it ends up being burned.

Hebrews 10:36-39
For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. FOR YET IN A VERY LITTLE WHILE, HE WHO IS COMING WILL COME, AND WILL NOT DELAY. BUT MY RIGHTEOUS ONE SHALL LIVE BY FAITH; AND IF HE SHRINKS BACK, MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM. But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.

5.) Not everyone who says they are Christians are Christians.
Matthew 7:15-23
Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits. "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.

Matthew 7:13-14
Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

6.) Test to see if you are in the faith....
‭‭2 Corinthians 13:5-6‬
Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test? But I trust that you will realize that we ourselves do not fail the test.”

Acts 17:11‬ ‭
Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.

‭‭‭Jude 1:20-21
But you beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

7.) Some iffy things....
Hebrews 3:6
but Christ was faithful as a Son over His house-whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end.

Hebrews 3:14
For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end.

John 8:51
Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.”

John 15:6
If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

John 15:14
You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.

Romans 8:13
For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

Romans 11:22
Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.

2 Timothy 2:12
If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.

Hebrews 10:26
For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins.

2 Peter 1:10
Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble.

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

1 John 2:15
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 John 2:24
Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.

8.) Be alert!
Luke 21:36
But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.

1 Corinthians‬ ‭16:13‬
Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

1 Peter 5:8-9‬
Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.

‭‭1 Thessalonians 5:4-6‬ ‭
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.

9.) Endurance is key!
Matthew 24:13
The one who endures to the end will be saved.

Mark 13:13
You will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.
‭‭‭
2 Timothy 2:12‬
If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us.

Ephesians‬ ‭6:10-18‬
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints.

So you won’t answer my questions...too hard? Both 1 Timothy and Hebrews 6 say they are believers, you are wrong and ignore the truth.

You do not understand what you are reading. You will never get there on your own merits. If you are not conformed to the image of Christ (That means complete conformity) You will never know the grace of God.

So you aren’t going to answer my questions? Let me repost then to refresh your memory...answer those questions and you will see that I’m right.

Tell me Douglas...what is the faith of the people that Paul is talking about in 1 Timothy 4:? What faith is Jesus talking about in Matthew 10? Last question...who can be made partakers of the Holy Spirit? Can God give His Holy Spirit to just anyone or certain people? If you really look at these verses then you will have to deduce that Christians can fall away from the faith, and instead of blowing off these questions, I would like for you to answer them, thank you.

That's the problem Lisa, They are your answers definitions, Not God's. You will never get there on your own understanding. Besides, I have answered those questions to you in past post.

Actually they aren’t just my answers or my definitions. It isn’t hard to understand when we are told “ The Spirit explicitly says some will fall away from the faith.” I think it’s willfull denial not to figure that one out.

How do I deny the truth about this verse?
Some say,"don't give up, And hope your good is good enough.
Head down, keep on walking.
If you could earn it, Then you deserve it.
Some say, "push on through".
After all it's the least you can do.
But don't buy what they're selling.
It couldn't be further from the Truth

what if I were the one to tell you
That the fights already been won
Well, I think your days about to get better
What if I were the one to tell you
that the works already been done
It's now good news
It's the best news ever.

Some say don't ask for help
God helps the one's who help themselves
Press on, get it right
Otherwise get left behind
So try hard, then try and lean on God
Hold up! If this weren't true
Then explain to me what the cross was for?

What if I were the one to tell you
That the fights already been Won
Well, I think your days about to get better
What if I were the one to tell you
The works already been done
It's now Good news
The best news ever.

So won't you come
Come all you weary and heavy burdened
You heavy laden
For all of you with noting left
Come and find rest
It's now The Good news
The best news ever!

It is your spirit that is telling you that, You do not understand The Grace of God. What are you going to do with Christ testimony? My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me And I give unto them ETERNAL LIFE, and THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH (NEVER). Neither shall ANY MAN pluck them out of MY HAND. My Father who gave them to me is greater than all, and no one is able to pluck them out of my Fathers Hand. I and my Father are one. (John 10:27-30) This trumps any Scripture that claims a man can lose his salvation. While men may wander, They shall neve fall, Because: (John Chapter 17)

But 1 Timothy says in black and white that some will fall away from the faith, the Spirit explicitly says that it will happen...how can the verse you provided trump 1 Timothy?

Because it plain and straight forward by the Savior, No guessing what He meant. You on the other hand do not understand what 1 Timothy means....you take it as if these were born again believers giving up Christ...it can never happen to a born again believer. The Church is a mixture of wheat and tares....Tares will fall away...not the wheat!

One would have to be of the faith to fall away from it don’t ya think. You can stop saying I don’t understand the verse...I think I understand it pretty well, better than you actually.
Then there’s Hebrews 6:4-6 that also talks about people who once had the Holy Spirit falling away as well. Only Christians get the Holy Spirit, so this verse backs up 1 Timothy in that people of the faith will fall away from the faith and when they do it is impossible for them to return to Christ. I would think that people would take heed lest it happens to them...
Hebrews‬ ‭6:4-6‬ ‭
For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame.

People who where supposed Christians but left and turned to something else where NEVER Christians in the first place. They where probably just believing in their own works and believing in a works based salvation. Because once a person is truly saved by believing in the gospel of Jesus Christ believing in his death burial and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) Y'all have eternal life FOREVER!!! It's the good news. And to whoever thinks Christianity is a religion y'all are wrong. Christianity is a belief in Jesus Christ. And there is freedom and hope and love in their. Jesus loves you guys so much. I'm not even joking. I promise you once you believe in Jesus truly, you will feel this intense love just overcome you. I'm not saying once your a believer you'll be problem free but you'll have joy in your sufferings and great glory to come. I recommend you guys watch Renee Roland she is an amazing Christian YouTuber that says everything that's pretty much biblical. Love you all ❤

Just a quick look at what Renee had to say on the difference between salvation and discipleship - she understands what many seem to get mixed up on!

That was great.... About Grace, Yes, we must grow in Grace. The Grace that we have received by proof of the Holy Spirit. But we do not grow into Grace. That is what the works for salvation people do. They think that works gives them Grace or favor before God. Yes, "conformity" to the image of Christ..That means, "Complete Conformity" in which we strive against the flesh. I finally told Lisa, That if she believes that a Born again believer can fall (in her thinking means losing Salvation) That if that is what she believes, She better pray hard that she does not fall.....You see, that put her salvation on her merits, Not Christ forgiveness on the cross.
