P.S. One of the most laughable questions in the CNN interviews was the one about whether Jewish or Muslim students might be offended by the posting of the 10 Commandments.

As the Jewish sects claim to be based on the Old Covenant, and specifically The Torah/Law, why would they be offended by the 10 Commandments being posted?

And similarly, as the Koran/Quran very clearly and repeatedly instructs its readers to read, study and live by The Law -- referring to it as the ONLY Criterion for determining right from wrong, why would any "Muslim" be offended by the 10 Commandments being posted?

Good point. Funny, when Abby Phillips brought up Jewish & Muslim students it didn't trigger that train of thought in my mind....that these are adherents of Abrahamic faiths even though we don't see eye to eye on every detail of the Decalogue. Atleast she should have mentioned that instead of trying to make them out as total outsiders. As this issue gets agitated, and i believe more states will follow OK & LA, it will be interesting to see how things pan out. I made this point this time last year
Iam not here to fight with you but i will repeat myself: you will get your wish of sharia law (the 10 commandments) but it will be a brutal christian variety that will not tolerate any dissent. It isn't something that is going to happen organically but people will be manipulated into dispensing with religious liberty.

On a side note, Jacques Attali, whom i've mentioned so many times now did say in his book (Brief history of the future) that they (NWO planners) were anticipating some countries to return to their former christian roots in the 2030s...clearly because people are tired of the culture wars and being swung from one cultural extreme to another. So if something like that happened in America in 2023 then it is obviously them gaming an outcome....and they will use deception to achieve those ends...even if that means beaming Mary or Jesus into the sky.

And as i write this, iam starting to wonder whether (since we've been told a million times that America is to be broken up/balkanized by 2030) the "Christian Nationalism" option is the surefire way to achieve that goal of balkanization because getting rid of the dollar as a reserve currency might not deliver the results quickly. People will do crazy stuff in the name of religion...

Louisiana's ten commandments mandate: Culture war or constitutional crisis? - opinion: JPost

So why now? Because of rulings handed down by a lopsidedly conservative court: Dobbs on abortion, another on prayer at a football game, and one on public funding for private religious schools. All six conservative justices are Catholic. The three liberals are a Catholic, a Jew, and a Protestant.

Justifying the new law, Landry cited “the original lawgiver... Moses.” If he were serious, he’d know that the version he is promoting is not the one the Bible says was given to Moses at Mt. Sinai. Nor does he know that there are actually three different versions in the Torah. And then, what about all the different versions in various Christian teachings? What about other faiths’ versions of the commandments? The fourth commands keeping the Sabbath day holy? Which day is that? Friday, Saturday, or Sunday? While he’s at it, what about enforcing all 613 of Moses’s laws, starting with keeping kosher?

Lara Crigger, a New Orleans-based author, wrote in The Forward that as a Louisiana Jew, she found Landry’s version of the Ten Commandments “haphazardly” translated and defined it as “not from the Hebrew Bible or any recognized Christian translation.”

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) is under fire after a speech Monday night in which he advocated “Christian nationalism” for the good of the nation.

The Missouri Republican was speaking at the National Conservatism Conservatism in Washington, D.C., when he attempted to put a positive spin on “Christian nationalism,” a far-right ideology that promotes the belief that America was founded as a Christian nation and that policy should be decided using a fundamentalist interpretation of the Bible.

As such, Christian nationalist goals include banning abortion in the U.S., overturning laws protecting marriage equality and the rights of LGBTQ citizens, and removing books from libraries.

During his speech, Hawley claimed that “Christian nationalism founded American democracy” and that “the Christian political tradition is our political tradition” before going on the attack.

In this lecture (presented by Dr. Francisco Plaza), we shall begin by addressing the current state of culture, considering the nature of modernity and its crisis of meaning. For our purposes, we shall focus mostly on its political dimension. After providing a summary account of modernism and its crisis, we shall consider two responses from Catholic political thought that look to creating a truly post-modern order. The first of these is that of integralism, a revivalist type movement that looks to the past before modernity as the way beyond the modern problem. We shall consider the integralist response to modern politics, then consider where it is correct and where it may fall short. Finally, we shall conclude by considering Maritain’s defense of a “Christian Democracy” and “integral humanism” as the true way beyond modernity.

Funny how Protestant America was always afraid of electing Catholic presidents because they would, apparently, be beholden to a foreign power. Now, Protestants are uniting with Catholic Integralists in a bid to win the culture war but the integralists want more than just winning the war.

Patrick Deneen is an integralist (see tweet below)

And it is clear that Vance is deeply ensconced in the GOP’s growing “national conservative” faction, which pairs an inconsistent economic populism with an authoritarian commitment to crushing liberals in the culture war.
Vance has cited Curtis Yarvin, a Silicon Valley monarchist blogger, as the source of his ideas about firing bureaucrats and defying the Supreme Court. His Senate campaign was funded by Vance’s former employer, Peter Thiel, a billionaire who once wrote that “I no longer believe that freedom and democracy are compatible.”

He’s a big fan of Patrick Deneen, a Notre Dame professor who recently wrote a book calling for “regime change” in America. Vance spoke at an event for Deneen’s book in Washington, describing himself as a member of the “postliberal right” who sees his job in Congress as taking an “explicitly anti-regime” stance.

In a profile of Vance, Politico reporter Ian Ward quotes multiple leading Republican figures — specifically, the leaders of the faction trying to turn these postliberal ideas into practice — saying that they see Vance as a leading advocate for their cause.

Top Trump advisor (and current federal inmate) Steve Bannon told Ward that Vance is “at the nerve center of this movement.” Kevin Roberts, the president of the right-wing Heritage Foundation and the driving force behind Project 2025, told Ward that “he is absolutely going to be one of the leaders — if not the leader — of our movement.”

But Vance’s new identity as the MAGA militant has existed alongside — and, at times, served to obscure — another influential role that Vance has taken on in Washington. In certain conservative circles, Vance has emerged as the standard-bearer of the “New Right,” a loose movement of young, edgy and elite conservatives trying to take the ideological revolution that began under Trump — including his overt embrace of nationalism, his hard-line stance on immigration, his vocal opposition of U.S. involvement in foreign conflicts like Ukraine and his overt skepticism toward certain liberal democratic principles — in an even more radical direction. Unlike Trump’s more conventional Republican followers, Vance’s New Right cohort see Trump as merely the first step in a broader populist-nationalist revolution that is already reshaping the American right — and, if they get their way, that will soon reshape America as a whole.

Vance’s contributions to the burgeoning conservative counter-establishment have been intellectual as well as institutional. Vance is a recurring guest at the National Conservatism Conference, a buzzy annual gathering that brings Trump-aligned Republicans together with leading New Right writers and academics. He has also gone out of his way to inject New Right intellectual ideas into the conservative mainstream in Washington. In May 2023, for instance, Vance spoke on a panel in Washington with the Catholic philosopher Patrick Deneen, whose most recent book called on conservatives to carry out a “regime change” in the U.S. to replace liberal democracy with an avowedly conservative “post-liberal order.” (At the event, Vance — who converted to Catholicism in 2019 — identified himself as a member of the “postliberal right” and said that he views his role in Congress as “explicitly anti-regime.”)

Bible prophecy tells us that church and state are going to unite in the end times. And that once that happens God's faithful, commandment keeping people will be persecuted.

During the dark ages the Roman Catholic Church persecuted (Revelation 17:6) Christians who had not accepted the authority of the pope. More than 50 Million Christians were killed.

History will be repeated again and the papacy (the first beast, Revelation 13:1-10), the United States ( Second beast or beast from the earth, Revelation 13:11-14) and false protestantism (image to the beast, Revelation 13:15-17) will force the entire world to accept papal decrees and the Mark of papal authority (mark of the beast, Revelation 13:16-17).

Liberty of conscience, which has cost so great a sacrifice, will no longer be respected. In the soon-coming conflict we shall see exemplified the prophet's words: "The dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Revelation 12:17. DD 35.3 - DD 35.4
