Taking one's own life is a sin. It comes under the commandment which says, "Thou shalt not murder" which means ourselves too.
That's just a catholic interpretation, but many of us don't much care about catholic interpretations..
Anyway if suicide really is a sin, Jesus said ALL sins are forgiven (except blasphemy against the holy spirit).
We all feel sorry for people when they kill themselves, so I'm sure God feels sorry for them too.
If somebody is in chronic pain or mental anguish, suicide is an 'escape clause', but if somebody is simply a bit fed up they should certainly think twice about doing it-
"Elijah came to a broom tree, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. "I have had enough, Lord ," he said. "Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors." Then he lay down under the tree and fell asleep.
All at once an angel touched him and said, "Get up and eat." (1 Kings 19:3-7)
