Because the woman makes money too?
Women should be able to be financially independant.
It isn't the victorian era. Women don't have to rely on handouts from daddy or hubby while they wait to get sold off to the highest bidder.

Can you give me an example of a woman who would not have the money to pay halves on a date?

In a marriage/partnership all incomings and necessary outgoings should be split 50/50. Anything left over is yours.

That was what one of the women said on the video..I was wondering if you thought that too.

I think if you are in a marriage it should be a joint partnership in that everything is shared with neither his not hers but ours. You are part of a team now.

It adds up to why men have become obsolete imo if they can't even pay for a date.
Both sexes seemed to agree that it was just the first date men should pay for especially if they were the ones who asked.

It was an interesting video.

I think a single woman has the right to earn her own money, and to have full control over it.
It is nice for anyone if someone takes them out and buys them a meal. But I don't think women should expect to be paid for just because they are female.
Unless they are escorts, in which case it's a job.

I totall agree with you about marriage. Everything comes in, what is necessary is taken out for bills and necessary stuff, a percentage is stashed for a rainy day, and anything left over is split, equal shares, so the couple can treat each other to a meal if they want too.

Isn‘t that part of a man wooing a woman though...or is that too old fashioned now?

Yes! it is part of wooing.
For a first date the one who asks should pay.
The invitee should offer to pay their share, but the host should politely decline.

After that, wether they are going halves, or wether one is being treated by the other, is up to them.
But generally halves seems fair.

It's that willingness to become 'us', the team, to share.
Equally.

I can’t remember going halves when dating my husband...but when we got married all the money went into the same account.

In my last relationship, I paid for and did everything. Just to be told that "we never do anything".

Maybe I never really figured out what girls like to do. I can do date nights perfectly, but beyond that Idk what I'm doing wrong. In my eyes, I see that nobody really does anything anyway. People just pretend to do stuff, like sorry I'm not fooled. I know everyone is spending most of their time binging Netflix.

It does seem like people do binge Netflix. Sorry, your relationships haven’t worked out....I hope you find someone who loves and cares for you!

I somehow predict this conversation will lead to a feminism topic soon. Also, personally it depends on who you are to pay, I guess gender is important as well, but it depends on who you are. Some couples have that best friend type going on meaning the woman or man can pay, it wouldn't matter to them. If you want to be especially romantic, you could always pay for you and your partner, don't guys mostly do that as a gentleman? I personally wouldn't care if I had to pay or if my significant other did, a date is a date, I'm only concerned with enjoying it.

Some people are going to end up saying "A woman can pay for her own stuff, she works, and gets the money she deserves," true but...okay maybe that's just me. Now if my spouse told me he would take me on a date, I'd expect him to pay had he planned for it, but otherwise it doesn't matter to me.

In all my pasts relationships i'd pay 100% except when the girl specifically offered to pay for 50%.
But of course, in all these ocasions only one girl didn't ended up being my girlfriend (and we just had one date.)

All of these girls spent lots of time getting ready and putting on their make up so they would look pretty and smell nice with all that shampoo and perfume.

I just had a bath and sometimes i'd shave my beard so... yeah, 10 dollars (converted BRL to USD) more ain't that much.
