I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts/opinions on this topic in the (albeit, "celebrity") news? When I heard about it, I headed over to this site, sure there would be something about it here. I think the topic of Scientology is somewhat related to Vigilant Citizen.

All I know about this Danny Masterson thing he is allegedly accused by 3 women, but I have only read details about one, someone whom he was in a long-term relationship and who stayed with him after the incident. (Some abusive-minded people would say this fact alone "proves" his innocence, but it would not).

I saw a brief video of his reaction/explanation where Masterson says something along the lines of "Yeah, that damn Leah Remini [actress who is outspoken against Scientology] urged my ex-girlfriend to press r*pe charges because she [Remini] is against Scientology, and I am a Scietologist." No outrage or anxiety over the accusations, no denials, no "I'll see you in court!" type of statements. Just, yeah, Scientology...

So, anyway, my focus on this subject is the ties to Danny Masterson and VC-related subject matter. Masterson is married to the youngest daughter of John Phillips, Bijou Phillips. Boy, is there a lot of crazy background information right there already. Masterson was pretty young and vulnerable when he was at the height of his fame and success with "That 70s Show," when he 'joined' Scientology. Masterson is often business -partners with Ashton Kutcher. They co-own restaurants in Hollywood. Kutcher is/was a Kabbalist who made that feel-good movie [sarcasm] "The Butterfly Effect." Another fellow cast-member of "That 70s Show" was that kid who played Fez, who dated Lindsay Lohan when she was still an attractive young lady. Laura Prepon, another cast member of that 70s Show, dated Tom Cruise (I guess she was the "rebound" after his divorce) and was also affiliated with Scientology at that time. Masterson's wife, Bijou Philips, went along with Paris Hilton's sister -- the supposedly less slutty one -- to pick up Tila Tequila's dogs after her strange unexplained death. Bijou was briefly and unsuccessfully a singer. I have read before that she wrote and sang lyrics specifically referring to incest in the first person. Given the earnestness of her older sister's book, I believe this to be true.

So, ultimately, I was wondering if anyone else beside me has connected any more dots regarding the accusations against Danny Masterson? I am not out vilify some "celebrity" I won't ever meet, just interested in generating some discussion.

This is the first that I have heard of him. That Phillips family is really mixed up, though!
Wait, Tila Tequila died mysteriously? When did his happen? She said a few years ago that someone was trying to kill her-I assumed she meant the people who had influence over her "career."

I really have not followed much Hollywood stuff for about 6 months and don't watch TV anymore, so I don't get that news.

I don't think she's dead.

Well, I think she owed her career to a sex tape or something like that. I barely know myself, and I am okay with that!

Whoops. I write this stuff by memory to prove that I don't follow celebrity stuff to the letter and I get the facts wrong! It was actually Casey Johnson that died. She was the heir of Johnson & Johnson, the household products company. She was diabetic, type 1. Tila Tequila (TT) was her live-in girlfriend at the time of her death, and she is actually better known for her MySpace page than her porn career or reality tv or whatnot. TT has tweeted and blogged about things that are on par with content here on VC. The dog incident I referred to was that Masterson's wife and Nicki Hilton picked up Casey's dogs after her death but would not accept the animals' supplies or dog food. Tequila was hysterical because this refusal of the items convinced her that their intention was to kill the dogs. Also she knew these people.

So much for proving I don't follow stuff, lol. I'm really just wondering aloud about Danny Masterson. His wife is a known victim of incest (abusers tend to gravitate toward established victims) and Scientology is a seriously notorious cult. The stuff that Tequila has posted online about Hollywood and occult topics/practices have too many similarities.

Wow. Good question. I read the basics on this story & it sounded awful.
I don't think he's a target just because of Scientology. I think he's a target bc he's a sick dude who really did the stuff.

I like Danny as an actor, he's one of my favorites personally, but considering his connections to Scientology and the messed up stuff high ranking members get up to because they believe they can get away with it, I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if the accusations turned out to be true. However, I am a proponent of "innocent until proven guilty" so if he is guilty I hope that they have some proof and justice can run it's course.

I'd trust Leah Remini's word over his personally, but that's just my bias against Scientology and the morality/ethics of all Scientologists.

Hi, Loki! I also hope that anyone who was or who at least perceived to be victimized by Masterson heal and surround themselves with a better class of people in the future.

Yeah, I know all Scientologists aren't bad people, most are just gullible and misled, but personally I think everyone should stay as far away from that insanity as possible, nothing good can come from that organization.

Back in the 1980s, my grandmother was deeply troubled by Scientology. She must have done her own research. I know she read L. Ron Hubbard's ridiculous book at the time, Dianetics, with a critical mind. I had very close relationship with her. She had a fussy, high-pitched voice. Especially when she nagged me over grandmotherly things. "Wear sunscreen!" "Put on a petticoat!" As silly as this sounds, I actually have warm memories of her warning me about Scientology. "Don't ever join Scientology," she'd harp. "It's a CULT!!!!"
