The mere fact they are so all-in on making the pandemic last speaks to them thinking they must gain control now. While the virus is real, it affects so few. Sure, they can mutate a strain easily and will do so in time. They now know some of the public needs to see more damage to get all in on this and that is frightening. Even the TN Editor says that Ferguson advocated for lockdowns in 2009, so did 2009 lockdowns in China influence Ferguson's policies circa 2009? I don't remember any such policies undertaken in China over H1N1.
