Bodies kept alive in plastic bags and lifeless 'blank' humans ready for a new consciousness to be uploaded: Controversial booth at CES claims to offer IMMORTALITY - but is all as it seems?
By Cheyenne Macdonald For Dailymail.com
  • At the Psychasec booth at CES, what appeared to be human bodies were on display in glass cases and bags
  • The exhibitors introduced a plan for 'immortality,' by uploading your consciousness into lab-grown bodies
  • But, at the end of the booth, it is revealed to be a bizarre marketing stunt for the Netflix show, Altered Carbon
At one mysterious booth in the Las VegasConvention Center this week, the reaction of passers-by has been unlike anywhere else.

Murmurs of ‘I don’t like this,’ and ‘no, this is too much for me,’ could be heard as CES attendees crowded around the Psychasec setup, greeted by what appeared to be lifeless human forms on display in large glass cases.

During a brief tour through the booth, exhibitors dressed in all white sold the idea of immortality, through a plan to upload human consciousness to ‘human sleeves’ of whatever design you desire – before concluding around the display of ‘Joel,’ a fresh ‘sleeve' in a vacuum sealed bag, breathing and eating through a tube.

While the display has been jarring to some, there is more to it than initially meets the eye.

Visitors who went through the tour were presented with a trailer for a Netflix show called Altered Carbon, and gifted small Netflix branded goodie bags containing ‘cortical stack aftercare gel.’

It may be one of the most bizarre Netflix marketing schemes yet, going as far as plastering posters with ‘Boycott #Psychasec’ and ‘Immortality is Immoral’ along the outside of the booth (though an exhibitor insisted to Dailymail.com that this had been done by anti-Psychasec protestors).

But, either way, it’s not an exhibit you’re likely to forget anytime soon.

Pointing to the disturbing ‘human sleeves’ inside the neon-backlit cases, a guide said: ‘These are 100 percent genetically home-grown organic sleeves – the sleeve is your body.’

Oh, vomit.

We keep hearing about this, though. There was another movie some years ago with a similar theme, too.. but it was accepted in the movie. That's just what people did-- it was more of a virtual reality thing though, iirc-- the concept was still unmistakable.

Tbh I can't imagine how it would it be done. Even getting into *woowoo* territory with astral projection, a person is still connected to his or her body. Actually extracting spirit and then putting it into something else though? o_O

It looks like some people are excited ;-)

On the other hand...

Hebrews 9

"27And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation."

Sinful man hates the implication of the first verse, and rejects the hope of the second.

Eternal life therefore has more to do with the Egyptian story of Osiris than the hope expressed in 1 John 3.

"1Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure."

Next to this, a continued existence uploaded to a "sleeve" looks like a very poor trade for our hope in Jesus!

The articles just keep on coming! I studied life sciences and computing at uni years ago and it's strange to see the convergence with an almost sci-fi / prophetic scenario...

Another piece of the narrative...

Pig brains are kept alive OUTSIDE their bodies for the first time in a radical experiment that could allow humans to become immortal

I personally believe that no matter how hard humans try to attain immortality it will never happen. Sure, perhaps they might live to be a thousand or so but even that isn't really all that long in the grand scheme of things. Every soul shall taste death.

You're absolutely right. In the Vedas, it's said that even the gods die. All individuals eventually rejoin the Whole.

Chinese scientists break quantum computing world record

Chinese physicists have achieved quantum entanglement with 18 qubits, surpassing the previous world record of 10. This represents a step toward realizing large-scale quantum computing, according to a recent study published in the journal Physical Review Letters.

Quantum entanglement is a phenomenon in which two or more entangled subatomic particles, or qubits, can theoretically affect each other simultaneously regardless of distance. The idea was so counterintuitive that Albert Einstein mocked it as "spooky action at a distance."

However, this effect is extremely delicate and researchers have to overcome the effect of decoherence – the destruction of quantum states by outside interferences – if they wish to use this phenomenon for any applications.

Physicist Pan Jianwei, along with his colleagues from the University of Science and Technology of China, eastern China's Anhui Province, achieved the new record by simultaneously exploiting three different degrees of freedom-paths, polarization and orbital angular momentum of six photons, the fundamental particle of light.

The outcome combination resulted in a stable 18-qubit state. Full control over the number of entangled particles determines the fundamental ability for quantum information processing, according to the study.

The previous record holder was also Pan and his colleagues. His team achieved a stable 10-qubit entangle state back in 2017. Apart from the number of entangled particles, China also holds the world record of sending pairs of entangled photons over 1,200 kilometers, an achievement that could pave way for the global hack-proof Internet.*
