As surely as the sun rises every morning and sets every evening... the Day of the Lord is coming...
Been saying that for what, 2000 years now? When you all ( the religious ) have destroyed us all and no magic man comes back to save us what will you do?

Nothing, because you’ll be as dead as the rest of us.

Listen you little colonel Gremlin.

The Day of the Lord is not years away... only months at best.

Luke 21 comes to mind...

25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

It's just a story Red, from a story book.

Personally I think the story of Noah's ark is quite ridiculous. Two of every animal on this big wooden boat? What about the insects? Did he have a trained Entomolgist at hand to identify each different species? How did he make the necessary storage equipment for the safe transit of all these thousands of species?

Even today with the technology we have it would be practically a logistical and practical impossibility to achieve such a feat.

If something sounds too good to be true it usually isn't....and if something sounds utter bollocks it usually is.

I'd say both statements apply to the Noah's lark fable.

I have studied origins in quite some depth (including “evolutionary” explanations). My reason would not allow me to accept a materialistic account of origins. There are so many good resources available now, with more and more scientists abandoning the Darwinian faith.

Someone once said that to “acquire truth unsullied by desire is a fallacy” - for some, they desire to find support for a Biblical account. For others, there is the desire to find support for an atheism that is precious to them. The evidence just sits, quietly waits and says “it is what it is”.

Is that what the Bible is to you, a storybook? Have you read it?

I don’t think God brought 2 insects on board mostly because insects seem able to pop up out of nowhere. It’s always interesting to me that the earth runs with very little help from us. The seasons come and go, the earth doing what God created it to do. So exciting after a long winter of the death and snow and cold everywhere that in the spring you see plants come alive again. The trees get back their leaves and through the summer plants produce their fruits or bloom with beautiful flowers only to die out in the fall. So amazing to me. Like our bodies are amazing...

Our bodies run the way God creates them to run. We generally don’t help with anything, we just get to use our bodies. I don’t have to think about breathing and I don’t have to run my own internal organs they just do what they do. My heart pumps and I don’t have to tell it to...which is good because can you imagine if we had to tell our hearts to pump? Or tell our lungs to breathe? Say we get hurt..our bodies start to heal, that is so amazing to me!

Yet in God’s word the Bible we are told how the earth and our bodies came about. We are told what happened to us in regard to knowing the God that made us. I suppose you can think it’s a storybook, but I think it’s the truth, fantastic as that may be, because I don’t think there is any other valid theory on how everything just comes together and works without any help from us. It’s as if it was all made just for us...

Yes, I've since read much better books.

What do you mean pop up out of nowhere?....so God didn't create insects then?.... nothing pops up out of nowhere....unless you believe in magic of course.

Our bodies run the way God creates them to run.
Our bodies run as they have biologically adapted/evolved to run in our environment....as per every other living thing on earth.

I thought the Bible explained the best reason for our existence-a God created everything. I think it also explains why we have so many problems-due to sin.

I was half joking when I said they pop out of nowhere. I try not to think about how many insects there really are in the world but there’s always one lurking about when you didn’t expect to see one.

Our bodies adapted to run on earth? What were they they like before the adaption do ya think?

Let's not derail the thread eh? We were discussing Christian Zionism.

I'm fully aware of the futility of engaging with somebody who's been so efficiently indoctrinated. You are firmly locked inside the box.

It was already derailed before I even commented.

Right... so where does the electricity come from? :D
Well for most of us it's usually a big fookoff carbon munching power station but apparently there is hidden technology based on Tesla's work which enables electricity to be pulled straight out of atmosphere....not like anything like that would benefit humanity really.

No--
The electricity that keeps your heart going.

Though I do wonder what Tesla was given.. he claims the info to create or harness the free energy essentially came from the aether, as well.

As fairy tales go Red this is as far fetched as it gets.

A 500 + year old man and his 3 sons build a wooden boat measuring over half the length of the Titanic, the build takes over a hundred years. The finished vessel allows Noah, his family and 14,000 animals (with food) to safely navigate stormy seas for around a year before all the flood waters receed.

I think I read a comment somewhere on a Bill Nye video that there was a larger than normal demographic overlap between people who believe this story to be true and people who think professional wrestling is actually real.
