Former AOA star Kwon Mina who has suffered a long history of mental health issues including a suicide attempt after describing the exploitation she suffered in the industry incl. bullying she faced within the band, and later came forward with an account of sexual assault by an unidentified man when she was 14 years old (https://www.allkpop.com/article/2021/12/sexual-assault-case-for-former-aoa-member-mina-forwarded-to-prosecution), perhaps the path by which many kids enter this industry - mirroring the ugly mechanics of Hollywood.

Years later she was in the employ (or rather, manipulated by) some criminal network - who used her for webcam material and then stole the money she was promised using the compromising images for blackmail. Who were these people, how did she get involved with them, etc. It sounds like human traffic and I only hope she and other survivors are able to escape the Program.

Seriously do any of you actually understand how the entertainment industry actually works in East Asia? It's more like golden age of Hollywood meets Siberian Gulag. There's nothing satanic about it except for the extreme corporatism of the companies. Unlike in the States where a regular Joe might and I say might have a 0.1% chance of hitting the big time, that is not the case for Asians. They are recruited and signed up by agencies and companies straight out of performing arts school. The most talented are picked and once they sign the dotted line, the management owns you, literally. You will work hard on the corporate training programme and if you're lucky, management might chose you for the next act they are putting together. Even if the group is a purveyor of third rate Europop that European record companies would have rejected for being subpar thirty years ago. For a Korean who might be better trained than some of their western counterparts, your big brake after years of hard work is performing as a singing, dancing puppet singing crappy pop songs that AI would do better. Every single move you make is decided by the management. You've got zero artistic and creative freedom. Just like the studio system of old. So it's no wonder so many of them end up abused, depressed and eventually taking their own lives. The really smart ones will emigrate and take their chances abroad.

Korea perfectly exemplifies what happens when you commodity entertainment into industrialised disposable crap. The US is no better with the filthy, depraved bilge that is rap music. Both genres serve the same purpose, rotting young kids minds.
