There's not much of it I can remember since I watched it almost a year ago and because a lot of the things she referenced were out of my depth/field of interest. She referenced psychoanalysis theories and modern philosophers like Slavoj Zizek (who I'm not fond of). There's not much I can say outside of what I originally said, if I try saying more I'll end up going round in circles :/ I have reached out to her on socials to see if she could reupload the vid on Vimeo/dailymotion or something.

The stuff about the BTS game is interesting. And you're right, there's so many different theories as to why parasocial relationships emerge. I personally believe the theory that it's more likely to emerge with people who have insecurities/demons (not in the literal sense) plaguing them or just something going on in real life that they want to avoid, so it's like a form of escapism. And you attach with the person who, from the surface level personality they show, you think is subconsciously similar to you. (this theory was covered in the Connie Glynn vid) And since they're seemingly you but better (with fame, fortune, their mental health seemingly put together because you don't see their breakdowns broadcasted) it turns into wishing you were them (which, with young girls can be mistaken as wishing you could date them) and in extremes can lead to deification and genuinely idolizing them. But of course that's just one theory out of others but it mirrors what I almost went through with Namjoon as my bias which is why I'm inclined to believe it. I was never the type to have parasocial relationships with celebrities or fictional characters, even during my pre-teen and early teen ages. It changed a little however ~2016/17 with BTS which was after the time I had a breakdown lol, so that's just some anecdotal evidence I guess.
The part where you said that it could be a form of escapism, that you attach with the person who is on the surface level similar to you, and that people could see celebrities as a seemingly better version of themselves, it made me wonder. Maybe the celebrity doesnt matter at all? Completely doesn't matter. I mean, I thought maybe the celebrity matters a bit, but maybe it's not even about liking them, but mistaking them for yourself? For some reason what came to my mind is that fans like to boast about how their favourite celebrities win awards and trophees as if they themselves are the ones who've won them. Isn't that strange?
Almost as if fans are living vicariously through their celebrities.

Edit: I'm wondering, if you're okay with me asking this, but what did you mean that you almost went through something similar with NJ?

You're definitely onto something there with fans taking pride in their idol/celebrity's achievements as if their idol is their identity, but I'm not sure if that's related to parasocial relationships or something else entirely. It seems related if you think about it. Another thing I'll add, because I forgot to add it in my reply to your last comment. You asked why people assume they know everything about the celebrity/idol when they're actually blank slates. Well, if you think about it, you're given limited information (which is always going to be polished no matter what, even with a YouTuber who's a daily vlogger who isn't necessarily trying to polish up their lives to look nice online, you only see ~17 minutes of a condensed 24 hour day - it's going to end up "polished" to an extent because it's edited).

Anyways what I'm trying to say is, theory goes: with this limited information (oftentimes with someone who is similar to you on surface level or someone you admire), you create a one-sided "stan" relationship where they kinda become your hobby. With this "hobby", you go through things in life: birthdays and rites of passages, emotional or mental hardships, life events. You start to think you know so deeply about them when really you still know as much as you did years ago when you first began the parasocial relationship; you only know surface level info, it's just that you've been through so much and they've been your escape for so long they start to feel intimate(?) to you because it seems like you've been through it together. When really it's only been yourself and the image of them in your mind that's been through all of this.

Edit: Reminds me of when David Dobrik had to move houses because fans kept showing up at his house. A girl wrote a letter to him and showed up at his house to deliver it. She assumed it would be okay since he meant so much to her (it wasn't, it was a violation of his privacy). The content of the letter was her telling him about how he'd helped her through depression, how much he meant to her, etc, etc. How she knew she shouldn't come to his house but she just felt like he knew her or helped her so much, she had been through so much with his videos, etc. It was really weird and I remember thinking that she was showing hallmark signs of being in a parasocial relationship.

I'm a bit tired of typing, it's night time... and I've probably repeated myself a few times lol.

what's most disturbing about those TH pics is that most BT$ fans are underage
why is he taking those type of pics in bed for minors?

I'm sure a lot of older fans feel uneasy about this but are not speaking up to not ruin his reputation

A lot of BT$ fans are on the age range of 12-16 years old. And TH is 25....you see how wrong that is?

Tea is becoming the definition of ego at this point.

I think It is not just related with k@rmy. Elites are pumping up Tea like they did to John Lennon.
If you search his interviews, John Lennon talked about peace, love etc. but when you search his life he is just hypocrite, he doesn't even care about his own child. He was just a puppet who thinks he is very influential.
Elite's feed John Lennon's ego to talk about peace and he liked it. He became the symbol of peace. people listened him and acted as elites wanted. When they are done with him, they killed him for whatever reason like Kurt Cobain.

In short, if his ego is being fed by people related with elites, he may be next sacrifices after Lennon and Cobain. Or he always been an egoistic brat and I am overrating him.
John Lennon and Cobain were both puppets but they had a huge influence in the music industry..TH can't be compared to them in that sense. Lets be honest, the only reason why TH has fans is because of his face

I think this is just his ego, searching for compliments (and acting like a creep with minors)
he looks like a very superficial dude. addicted to attention and praise

I think you have maladaptive daydreaming. That means you spend long periods of time daydreaming about someone, a group of people, and/or your ideal self; how you actually want to look/act like this. It becomes obsessive mental wise to the point where you start facing away from reality and staying in your fantasy instead because it's a way of coping.

I have that problem, but mines is HORRIBLE. I spend literally almost the whole day daydreaming about my ideal self with my ideal friends, love interest. I start to make it a story in my head which causes me to say the dialogue I want them to say outloud. For instance, let's say I like Naruto, I picture him as my friend in my mind to my ideal self. So let's say I'm looking at a funny video of example, a cat doing flips. I then imagine that cat being my ideal selfs' cat and having it to tricks in front of Naruto. I imagine Naruto saying "Cool!" So then I say "Cool!" by accident out loud. I also copy my characters emotions.

Basically, I'm living in multiple fantasy stories in my head and acting out my ideal self and my characters in an unconscious manner. I hope this doesn't make me sound crazy, but I really can't stand reality, so I just go live in my stories I've created. Thankfully, I'm aware of reality though.

Apparently this shit is Called Thirst trapping and is a thing. It is meant to be suggestive and induce +18 thoughts. He's deliberately making them "thirst" over him.

Disgusted but not surprised.

B-but you were the the one w-who um like- requested armys t-to join in the first place and choose to play at 3 to 4 IN THE MORNING

That's exactly my problem with him since day one. I have noticed his chameleon like behavior and his many faces during run episodes and such. He's very fake deep plays all edgy and trying hard to be non conventional through his tastes in music and art and whatnot , the way he dresses... what he doesnt know is that he's your very common shallow hipster. All about crafting an image or giving off a certain aura when really you're just an empty shell. Living off attention.

He tries so hard to look uninterested that it becomes laughable.

So it confused me a lot to see people praising him for being "different" and "original" lol ?

He's a master manipulator,
I'll give you an example : During bon voyage Hawaii he was lazy and didnt feel like helping JK moving the chairs, what does he do ? He tells JK "if you lift the chairs alone I'll agree that you're strong" and Jk complied lol.
Another thing, he was assigned to wash dishes with JK , instead of helping him he went on trying a new face cream. When he returned he found that JK Alreday finished , he looked all sorry and apologetic, but lol ? His diva ass could not wait until he finished his task before trying a new beauty product, instead of leaving Jk doing the work alone ?

He plays all pouty and innocent when he wants something from the members. He got them wrapped around his finger. They always buy him stuff. Something that tells me he may be a scammer and stingy with his own money.

Lastly he's just so full of contradictions.... and so very not tangible.... for example during his recent Vlive with RM where he spoke about his song Sweet Night, he said the article about the song came out as they're speaking, he said "I dont care about the charts I just want to heal army with my music"
But then spends all his time on weverse begging army to listen , to raise the charts ???? LMAO ????

like.... how can his people be blind to this ? He's just so fake and full of shit it stinks.

My post here is very off-topic, but I was wondering if you guys heard about how Oprah Winfry is in jail due to one of her mansions being raided.. getting exposed for human trafficking. People on Twitter were mentioning how it’s not a coincidence as she is associated with Tom Hanks, John of God, and Harvey Weinstein. Apparently, there are also elites stepping down, so the higher-ups are out there making sure those individuals get arrested and portray it to the public as “_____ got tested for positive” or “______ is in pandemic isolation.” This is just so that they’re reputation is “maintained” while the virus is going on. In reality, they’re in jail. I just found out today, so I’m still in the middle of processing these thoughts.

About the human trafficking, the elites need something called adrenochrome from young children. They are addicted to it— the more these people consume, the more they’ll feel stronger and healthy. Withdrawals will lead the elites to being sick and pale.

Also, apparently celebrities such as Tom Hanks, Kevin Spacy, and more are arrested by the QAnon. US troops are being sent there without masks because Italy is where a lot of child pornography and pedophiles are at. 80 members from the Vatican got arrested.

It’s unfortunate that people can’t got outside now because of the virus, by the way, BUT this could also give more opportunities to focus on ourselves and take time to research. It feels a lot better at home since I’m not surrounded by people’s dark energies. I have more time to myself now.

Anyways, here’s something to end with:View attachment 33833View attachment 33834

I have the same thing O_O
I didn't think there's someone else...
but what scares me is that maybe something like this happened bs from younger age we have been watching movies and listening to music so I think maybe it affected us and made us make another personality inside of us like butterfly effect or something and they control us through this and being unable to live a normal social life and to sit all day in front of YouTube doing nothing and give their celebrities views by imagining us as them Idk anymore...

but literally I am tired of it, sometimes I think what life would be like if I just live in the real world instead of living in a fantasy

what I will say now might surprise you... or maybe not ;-) but music helps alot in moving to that another world I don't know if you will get it, but music make me go deep in that world like I am literally into it.... its a very strange thing and I can't understand the relation... @_@
Yes, I understand. Music triggers daydreaming. Sometimes when I listen to music, I imagine I'm the singer and thus imagine how my audience (my favorite fictional characters from anime/movies/shows would react to it. It just makes me happy.

Also if I listen to music while daydreaming, it causes me to pace around or even sometimes jump in excitement. Not to mention, I make face expressions unknowingly...like say my face is just neutral and then let's say I imagine Naruto for example telling me I'm a good friend, then all of a sudden I will literally jump in excitement and say "Aww thanks!" Then I'll stop due to remembering it's all just stories not in real life. Then I get depressed.

When I was a kid, I actually used Barbie dolls, the trigger for my daydreaming. I'd imagine their hair being my ideal self's hair, their eyes, their body being my ideal self's appearance. Nowadays, (because I'm no longer a kid) it's shows and stuff that trigger it. I try so hard to stay in reality and do work but this daydreaming problem is causing my grades to lower, and me disliking my own family only because I'm finding too much pleasure in having an ideal family. That's a sad shame, I know..

i think almost everyone does that to cope with the harsh reality, so they detach from the world and get lost in their own imagination. even though it could be unhealthy to some people, i find it normal, because life keeps pressuring us and the only thing that could make us happy is to daydream about being happy as a coping mechanism, but sometimes some people could go too far, and they could get disappointed because life doesnt go along the way they wanted to be, but theyre in no control of their life, that kind of people should know that life is uncontrollable and we cant do anything about it but to change our perspectives of life and be grateful for whatever God has given to us. and everyone daydreams, it just depends on how far we go down the rabbit hole while doing it.

It’s no coincidence V is posting the shirtless selfies, it’s alllll a distraction. The true tea is that his song Sweet Night was kicked off the iTunes Charts for fraud accounts.

When I was a teenager it was so bad that you'd often hear me talk alone.
Music helps set the mood , if I wanna imagine a specific scene I choose the appropriate music for that I usually do it while pacing, it's very cinematic like.
so interesting...I think this behavior is very normal for kids
As a kid I used to lock myself in my room and listen to music, I pretended to be my favorite singer and did her choreos, but this behavior ended as an adult

I was molesed as a kid too and was very shy (in my teenage years I kind of changed and became more extroverted)
Do you think this behavior might be more normal with shy/introverted people?

One friend of mine used to say "I like shy people, because they have superior imagination, and interior world"
I wonder if that is all related

introverts mostly live on the interior world while extrovers live on the exterior world, thats just basic psychology.

this is off topic but i hate how theres thousands of people dying of corona but they only act like they care but then tom hanks have it and everyone started losing their shits. i hope that ped0 is dead of corona.

and that sweet child chart, every btshit song is rigged but i feel like theyre not trying to hide that theyre not anymore, first the yt views incident and now this, i think bigshit cant pay them anymore lmao.

BT$ popularity in general seem to be decresing. This whole virus thing ruined their plans and they had to cancel shows.

Besides their song and album just came and went and nobody is talking about it anymore. And now fans are discovered to cheat (like they always do) I'm glad to see it
