You put that very well.I wonder if it is worth making the distinction between the movement of the Holy Spirit in the Church and 'Charismatic' Christianity as a church 'thing'?
The Spirit points to Jesus, his death and resurrection and his claim to holiness on our lives. When people go seeking the Spirit, they are looking for someone who wants to talk about someone else!
If there was an 'unreservedly agree' button, I would have clicked it!!!!!You put that very well.
I am am not denying the power of the Holy Spirit to move in certain circumstances etc.
It is the Charismatic Church movement that claims to be Spirit-filled but relies on music and atmosphere to be created *before* the alleged Holy Spirit moves in their services that is dangerous.
A church that focuses on the Holy Spirit more than Jesus is in danger of worshiping a different god.
If by sensing the difference purely by feelings I certainly do not have that gift. However when I came back to God I realised I was starting to tell whether a Christian had good knowledge of the truth, or something a preacher was saying wasn't quite right. The bible chapter would come to my mind and then I checked. I was either reassured or alarmed, but either way I was right.I have experienced both the real and the false spirit. The real move of the Spirit leads you to Jesus. The false one is an unhealthy interest in becoming 'empowered', and with reference to Kundalini, that is the very spirit I have detected myself in such 'revivals'...
The existance of counterfeit currency does not argue against the real thing. Discernment of spirits is actually one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
So you are going to ignore the scriptures I provided and videos I shared? Really? I watched every single video you shared with me. At least you could give me the same courtesy.....If there was an 'unreservedly agree' button, I would have clicked it!!!!!
p.s. Later, or perhaps tomorrow, when I have more time I will share some of my experiences that might bear this out...
Sorry Tanya - I'm at work ;-) I will have a look, I definitely think there are some fellowships where there is a false spirit but I wouldn't go so far as to say that all apparent moves of the Spirit are in fact something else...So you are going to ignore the scriptures I provided and videos I shared? Really? I watched every single video you shared with me. At least you could give me the same courtesy.....
That will be a very interesting topic for you to talk about. If there was an 'unreservedly agree' button, I would have clicked it!!!!!

You're at work and on this forum? Tut tut. *wagging finger*.Sorry Tanya - I'm at work ;-) I will have a look, I definitely think there are some fellowships where there is a false spirit but I wouldn't go so far as to say that all apparent moves of the Spirit are in fact something else...
I have my own business ;-)You're at work and on this forum? Tut tut. *wagging finger*.
Suppose that's a valid excuse.I have my own business ;-)
Hi Tanya - I actually agree with you here to a huge extent! There are some terrible and truly damnable abuses in the so called charismatic movement and they are some of the most open to deception because they take their theology from experiences!!!!So you are going to ignore the scriptures I provided and videos I shared? Really? I watched every single video you shared with me. At least you could give me the same courtesy.....
I think you, Tanya and I would also completely agree with this passage https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+thessalonians+5:19-22&version=KJVHi Tanya - I actually agree with you here to a huge extent! A counterfeit if by definition, the imitation of something real. Many Christians throw out the baby with the bathwater over so many different types of error. Wisdom and discernment are so essential and I think JoChris hit on in by mentioning the need to judge carefully. I am certainly not of the rolling about, shouting in tongues and being weird school of Christianity...
@Tanya - Sorry it looked like I wasn't taking your points on board - I can see the Kundalini spirit in your clips, and have even been in meetings myself where the so called 'Holy Spirit' was invoked - one in particular felt to me like the end of Indiana Jones where they are strapped to the pole when the Ark of the Covenant is opened by the Germans!! My spirit said 'Don't look Indy!!"...So you are going to ignore the scriptures I provided and videos I shared? Really? I watched every single video you shared with me. At least you could give me the same courtesy.....
I actually thought of that man's clip but couldn't cut-and-paste the web address because of this device's Youtube setting. That's not the holy spirit, that is the counterfeit spirit warned about in scripture
1 John 2:27
27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.
That is the counterfeit spirit and anointing called the Kundalini spirit which you can see the exact resemblance and manifestations coming from new agers who practice yoga and Chakra awakenings. The gurus place their hand on their forheads to awaken the Kundalini spirit, which is a serpent spirit. I'm sorry, but that isn't the holy spirit.
I advise you to read and watch all that you can about the awakening of the kundalini spirit, the exact same thing happens to those who practice Yoga and the awakening of the Chakras is what is happening in the Charismatic movement. All the proof you need is out there to see with your own eyes if you are willing and I hope you are because this is part of the great falling away. Its a dangerous movememt. No better than practicing witchcraft to be honest and you do not want to be possessed by this spirit like my Aunty Thea is. It makes her convulsed arching her back backwards and twitch and make her do things that is not human.
The holy spirit is of self control
Galatians 5:22
22By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, 23gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things.
This spirit is not displaying self control. These people have no control over thenselves. The holy spirit is self control.
fire represents the purification of God....why would I not want to be baptized with his fire? I want to be purified. I want to be like refined gold. Without the fire, the dross can't rise to the top and be skimmed off. (1 Peter 1:7, Zechariah 13:9)Being baptised with fire is NOT a good thing and I cringe every time I see some charismatic going on about it.
"kundalini", are you sure? It's clear to me that what these charismatic types are really doing is unwittingly enacting rituals that incorporate sound as a vibratory aid to project the original thought so that it can be "copied" within the mental body of each person, giving the original thought power, definition, and form. In other words they are creating egregore or servitor type thought-forms LOL. If they were to suddenly experience so-called kundalini, then any fears that were utilized in the creation of these thought-forms would probably send them running for the hills in sheer terror.I have experienced both the real and the false spirit. The real move of the Spirit leads you to Jesus. The false one is an unhealthy interest in becoming 'empowered', and with reference to Kundalini, that is the very spirit I have detected myself in such 'revivals'...
