whats surprising is that biden is the best candidate for the dems (at least according to recent polls). the GOP would LOVE for him to go head to head with trump-- the internet/4chan/right wing YT/twitter/facebook memes would destroy any chance he has without trump even having to say a word-- and thats despite all of the censorship thats going on. all the republicans need to do is keep their mouths shut, let the dems think hes the best candidate, and let it unfold.
the dems are in a terrible position. the far leftist socialists are not appealing to the more centrist dems and are splitting the party. that leaves the dems with people like biden. the dems need a young moderate democrat to run against trump. a minority or female would be even better since that would appease the liberal faction that is tired of old white men. the problem is, the left does not have anyone else.
sanders is their best option for now. running creepy joe is basically a lock for trumps second term.
There are two groups in the Democratic party: the left i.e Bernie, AOC, Ilhan Omar, Liz Warren (sort of), etc. and the neoliberal establishment, which includes people who call themselves "progressives" as well as "moderates." It includes HRC, Biden, Pete Bootycheeks, Beto, Kamala Harris, et al.
The establishment wing is corporate-owned and corrupt af. The extent of their progressivism is supporting young people, women and POC. But they won't support someone who would actually threaten corporate hegemony, like good 'ol Bernie.
They're trying to shove Biden down everyone's throat because he's the "most electable" and won't threaten corporate power, but we saw in '16 that an "electable" candidate lost because she went against a candidate who spoke to issues people cared about.
If biden is the nominee the dems will fail, and even if not, America will fail, because he doesn't want change, and we DESPERATELY need it because we have 11.5 years to cut global co2 emissions in half. The American people want change, but unfortunately, Democratic voters are being spoonfed neoliberal propaganda on MSNBC. The saddest thing about is that the American people want universal healthcare, action on the climate catastrophe, a $15 minimum wage, AND Bernie would beat Trump by 8% (54% to 46%)
We are at a time of great change in our society, but the entrenched corporate interests want to shove the same old poison down our throats.
