So the Book of Revelation is about revealing end time events...
Sometimes in such a way that we must study to figure it out.
John was looking into the future when he watched the beast with seven heads and ten horns... and what does it represent ?
An angel explained that the seven heads are also seven kings or kingdoms... five had fallen and one is and the other has not yet come... and when he comes he will only last for a little while... and then an eight who is of the seven shall come but be destroyed.
So John looked into a future when five of the heads had fallen. Babylon MedoPersia Greece Rome and the holy Roman empire had all fallen.
That means John was watching a representation of the world beast system somewhere between 1871 and 1918... when the German empire picked up the mantle from the holy Roman empire. That means the short lasting seven head is the Third reich... and that the eight is the revived Third reich.
My main point with this little expose is that the Book of Revelation focused in on the world beast system as it was well over a century ago.
That means the image of the beast for instance might have been in the works for decades.
If you were to see various visions of the future and an angel was explaining things in the PRESENT tense, it would be from your present pov, not from a future 'present' pertaining to the vision itself.
When I saw her, I was greatly astonished. 7 Then the angel said to me: “Why are you astonished? I will explain to you the mystery of the woman and of the beast she rides, which has the seven heads and ten horns. 8 The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and yet will come up out of the Abyss and go to its destruction
Judea was even more of a roman colony than britain was...afterall the very relevance of Rome, it even becoming an empire just occurs because Octavian/Augustus Ceasar made a deal with Herod to essentially make Judea a vassal state to Rome and hence Augustus became the first emperor of Jerusalem. The beast's entire relevance is in line with the jewish temple. The 4 beasts link to the temple.
So no, the holy roman empire was not the beast directly, but it was a sort of precursor since the holy roman empire engaged in crusades and conquered the temple mount for a time period. Just as the roman republic was a precursor to the empire.
The beast can only come to fruition when the jewish temple is rebuilt..and when the false jewish messiah/worthless shepherd stands in it and declares himself God.
He is blind in his right eye (Zech 11)..which is interesting..
the right eye represents the left brain hemisphere. in the kabballah sephirot system. The left side is the left brain/yin/passive and the right is the right brain/yang/active. The left pertains to the metaphysical descent of consciousness whilst the right, to the ascent of consciousness.
The left is from Universal consciousness (which ive explained a load of times, is actually the LOGOS/IMAGE OF GOD) to multiplicity/individual consciousness (MADE IN THE IMAGE OF GOD, as in microcosms).
So with the left side, you're looking at what is, creation itself.

basically, this is what i mean when i talk about LOGICAL LEFT BRAIN PERSPECTIVE...this side is about understanding reality as it is. it's not about altering anything, just understanding it.
the right brain perspective connects with mystical truth...eg 'universal consciousness, we're all one' etc.
if you were dominated by the left brain pov and lacking in the right, what would happen? you'd have the truth..but your heart would still be far from God and hence you'd become corrupt. This is precisely what Jesus was telling the pharisees and scribes.
if you were dominated by the right brain pov and lacking in the left, you'd become a panthiest hindu. you'd lose sight of true monothiestic theology.
ive made this point many times, this truth is connected in John 1:1
the word WAS WITH GOD (left brain pov) and THE WORD IS GOD (right brain pov).
both statements are supposed to be balanced. christians are not balanced at all. Likewise the one who declares himself God, does so because he's experienced some degree of universal consciousness but then determined, a lot like how David Icke did, that he is Christ...and in his pov, that would mean God, since the logical truth would be missing altogether.
this also goes back to the whole messiah ben joseph/suffering servant and the messiah ben david/davidic conquerer theme..and i also believe this is what is meant by the 2 witnesses in Rev 11.
