Back to the Mandela Effect, weird evidence

We have like 3-4 threads already I apologize but

I'm a Berenstein guy.
I'm positive of this.

There's a few other major MEs around though.

Namely, a Genie film, "Shazaam" which I scarecely remember, starring our favorite gold earringed comedian Sinbad.

The claim, is there was a children's film about a Genie, played by Sinbad in the mid-late 1990s.

He never did, and this film does not exist.

Others claim they are mistaking it for a film Shaq starred in called "Kazam".

College Humor made a parody film after all the commotion online about it.

Some people even claim to have found a VHS box for it in their storage. Could clearly be a mock up though.

I'm watching parks and rec for the 100th time tonight and this happened, so I recorded it.

Andy Dwyer (played by Chris Pratt) says the following in regards to the items he has on his "bucket list"

"I'd like to remake the movie 'Kazam' with Shaquille O'Neal, where he plays a Genie, and I'd like to get it right."

However the subtitles say "Shazaam".

Odd.

Was the famous department store always spelled JC Penney? Or JC Penny?

Drove by that one night back in March.

Homer says Beren"stein" bears!!!

Spelled Berenstain Bears.

People's brains are weird, it's not a quantum conspiracy though.
Why did whoever type up the subs for parks and recreation write "Shazaam" was it just a really funny joke to them? lol

I've never seen or even remember any film with Sinbad other than Jingle all the way.

But I know damn well it was Berenstein bears and there's loads of remenants of that time in our world.

You really don't believe it's possible for things to have been changed due to a quantum hiccup? It's plausible, and scientific research shows, via the double slit experiment how something like that can become altered.

I think it has to do a lot with collective conciousness and the internet. A particle will behave differently when it's being observed, so when you get millions of people collectively observing our world en mass, who knows what gets fudged up in the process?

You know what’s weird is I saw that title Shazam and said to myself, “oh yah that’s the movie with what’s his face,” and sinbad was right on the tip of my tongue.

It had to be him because he has that sarcasm and he played a character that showed up in a boys room. The little boy was surprised like he had seen a ghost.

I swear this was a movie. I don’t know if I am getting the story line confused with Houseguest which was another movie sinbad was in, but it doesn’t seem like I am. It is so weird.

They have clips of sinbad in the movie wearing a genie outfit. I don’t know where they came from but that is what I remember him wearing. This is driving me crazy.

I had to look into this and found the queen song “we are the champions” was a Mandela effect because it doesn’t end with “of the world.” This was driving me crazy till I found a reddit explaining that they sang the of the world version live and some people used the live version.

I was seriously starting to think the harp machine had electroshocked the atmosphere and weird things have happened because of that one.

I still wonder about this possibility because I remember pikachu having a black tail and curious George having a tail. I also have to go the library this week and look up the berenstein bears now.

So it is either some massive electroshock experiment or maybe even a propaganda experiment with a few of them. Probably a smaller number than are being circulated. There were a really small number of them that seemed legitimate and it could be some kind of global experiment.

Most of them I think we all remember something that was interpreted wrong and then it just became the culturally accepted form like sex in the city or sex and the city or people. Some of the things where they trademark a weird spelling, I question, because that would be easy to confuse.

But houdini’s death. I remember even when I was little thinking he died performing a magic trick and apparently he didn’t. I was reading that it is possible people think this because a movie about him gave this impression. The power of propaganda.

Then, Nelson Mandela. People think he died in 1983. I remember being surprised that when I was hearing he died a couple years ago because I remember thinking he was already dead for some reason.

So I seriously wonder whether a small number of them are experiments and like most things, people start questioning whether everything is a Mandela effect but that wouldn’t make a good experiment. It really makes my head hurt thinking about this.

When people describe seeing something a certain way like saying "Didn't you remember Curious George having a tail?" you imagine him with a tail and it messes with your own memory because Curious George has never had a tail. It's called the misinformation effect.

Also the Sinbad thing has many explanations, the misinformation effect being one aspect. Here's a tweet from Sinbad himself: https://twitter.com/sinbadbad/status/783083506662383616
People really are just mixed up by "Kazaam" and a number of other things which creates the memory of a "Shazaam" that doesn't actually exist. Plus the entire Shazaam thing is pretty much a meme.

Have you ever thought about why the things being mandela effected are childhood cartoons and storybooks? It's because people were young and they don't have a super clear and recent memory of the actual thing. And it's always little things like spelling errors or imagining pikachu with a black tail.

Maybe but it has nothing to do with the mandela effect because there are much more probable and realistic explanations.

I remember the Berenstain bears as Berenstein too but I was wrong. I even pronounced it like "bern steen" but that's also very wrong.

All's I know is Pikachu was by best friend from ages 9-12 so I'm positive he always had black tipped ears, two brown stripes on his back and half of the base of his tail was brown. He also had a whitish belly in the original Japanese artwork.

But no black tail that's for sure.

There is however, a special Pikachu.

In one of the newest games, you borrow a world renowned special Pikachu, at the Pokemon contests in game.

They're similar to dog shows or beauty pageants.

This Pikachu is renowned for her black tipped tail.

Female Pikachus (for several games in the series since Diamond and Pearl) have a notch in their tails that differentiates them from male Pikachus.

She also happens to have a black tipped tail that makes it very cute because it looks like a heart.

She is known as "Cosplay Pikachu".

She is literally the only Pikachu in the world with a black tail.

Yah, some things make sense to be confused, like people think the phrase in Star Wars that everyone knows as "Luke, I am your father," is an example of a Mandela effect. I think people just misheard the original line.

I also saw that people think the lyric in this old song by Aqua is an example of a Mandela effect. I don't think it is though. They say the line people think it goes, "I'm a Barbie girl in a Barbie world;" and it actually goes, "I'm a Barbie girl in the Barbie world," which is just weird. The Barbie world. I don't get it, but people can confuse lyrics all the time.

Some people might be interested in reading those lyrics again for those of us that remember that song. That song is like a Monarch alter theme song. My gosh. That was a disturbing 60 seconds rereading those lyrics.

Anyways, some of them just rub me the wrong way and do make me think that some things have been picked to experiment with like Jiffy peanut butter. Apparently, it doesn't exist, but I clearly remember wanting to get it in the store when I was younger. I know because me and my mom were in the store and I hated that she always bought Laura Scudder's natural peanut butter. I hated that the oil separated and you would have to stir it in and I wanted one of the other peanut butter's that you didn't have to stir so bad.

I stared at the peanut butter pining over them while my mom was doing something else. I was in a zone staring at these peanut butter longing for a different brand. There was a Jiffy and the commercial people talk about, I remember that too. It said that you would have a sandwich in a Jiffy.

So I find it strange that I remember Laura Scudders and so many things in such detail, but Jiffy didn't exist especially when so many people remember it too. It is a little strange. Someone found this book that mentions that Jiffy was sold to Procter and gamble.
"Lexington, Kentucky, native William T. Young made a fortune developing Jiffy Peanut Butter and selling the brand to Procter and Gamble.” https://books.google.com/books?id=QAI9BgAAQBAJ&pg=PA209&lpg=PA209#v=onepage&q&f=false

This video shows grocery ads that use the term Jiffy.

And Shazaam and Jiffy would have been around the same time. This is like late 80's early 90's the time frame that some of these ones that are really weird took place.

Most of the modern examples are just rearranging words or mishearing words in movies or titles. Like Interview with the Vampire is commonly confused with Interview with a Vampire because it makes more sense to phrase the title. So I think the Mandela effect took on a life of its own, but that it is possible that there was something that happened around the late 80's to early 90's to create the phenomenon.

The girl who sings it has an accent and it sounds like she's saying "a" even though she's not. And people sing it with an a because it makes more sense like that even though it's the wrong lyric.

Yes that song is creepy.

People are confusing Skippy and Jif peanut butter.
There is pancake mix called jiffy

Those who read bible, wine skins or bottles ? Most obvious ever is world map though, those who like me loved geography at school, should see something strange when looking at south America...
It's nothing new that they change history, only they now have better means to do it. Scary stuff...

I think there was an Isis cartoon too.

Look for the Jiffy peanut butter on sale for 1.49. The newspaper archive site has a ton of old grocery ads that include Jiffy peanut butter. A ton. It is like someone time traveled and changed the name or we jump into one of the different dimensions all those physicists are talking about. Apparently, people think CERN is responsible for the Mandela effect. Super interesting because there is evidence Jiffy peanut butter did exist.

Admittedly, I never read the Berenstein Bears books as a kid, but I did watch the cartoon in 2003 iirc, and I remember the theme song pronouncing the name as Berenstain. So that's one Mandela effect symptom that I've never really believed in. As for the others, I have no idea.

I would have gone my whole life thinking it was Berenstein Bears had my coworker not just told me it's really Berenstain. That blows my mind. I would have bet a lot of money that it was "ein" and lost it.

Even though I think that's crazy, I still think it's more possible that my memory is wrong vs. a quantum hiccup. Or other conspiracies I read are alternate time timelines and what not. I'll just chalk it up to my memory and be done with it.

That almost looks pornographic. :D

I don't know about this mandela effect thing but I have had a few memory variations too. For example I remember the cereals Froot Loops, as Fruit Loops...maybe it's because my mind automatically converted the word to its actual meaning and used that as memory.

And apparently I am not alone in this.
https://www.google.ca/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/MandelaEffect/comments/3os7ic/froot_loops_vs_fruit_loops/

Still pretty weird. Maybe the company actually changed the brand intentionally?
