My sweet little grandson was born on March 17th.
He was born at 35 weeks and only weighed 5lbs 2 oz.
My daughter and her friends are starting to panic.
The baby formula shortage is getting more serious daily.
I gave my daughter the baby formula they used in the 60's.
But many babies like my grandson have milk allergies. And not all Mom's are able to nurse.

This is another evil that was planned.

As the old saying goes, got money for wars but can't feed the poor.

I agree this is probably a manufactured crisis with Gates rubbing his hands together in anticipation. Thankfully this guy is in his mid 60's. May God free us of him sooner then later.

People are too dependent on the machine. My first thought was what did humans do before their stupid "formula"? I would NEVER give a child that junk. I haven't looked it up yet but milk from brown rice sound nice, or oats, almonds, etc. Shaa make a soup broth from carrots and vegetables with other herbs as a tea.

@Lucy I laughed at the recipe from the 1960's. Karo? As in Karo corn syrup? I guess it worked but evaporated milk and corn syrup is low-grade compared to other options. I'd rather organic hemp seed milk and goji berry juice...

NYT is stating that doctors are NOT recommending making a home formula, no surprise there. The comments in the article are interesting as no one seems to really support the article either:

As an FYI, while I don't have kids, I have noticed that the supermarkets I shop at, even prior to the lockdown, have baby formula under lock and key. I always walked by it and wondered what is in it that made it so expensive that it's on a locked shelf. I mean, are people stealing or robbing stores for baby formula? I think that's a bigger concern, rather than the shortage of it, IMHO.

Maybe but most of these overweight people are working classed and lower middle classed. Many of them are probably working two jobs and not taking care of their health.

They even have diaper services that deliver healthy, clean and natural cotton diapers for babies, and they even pic up the old dirty ones! Its cheaper and ultimately more convenient... but as noted here, people are brainwashed into a false, modern-ideal of convenience.

carnation evaporated milk 1third milk to 2thirds water
as I couldn't afford the similac all my kids were good on that

This is a similar recipe to mine only I didn't add sugar

for anyone that is lactose intolerant


when there was no evaporated milk available I would use
the powdered milk instead
that's a mix how ever Ya feel it's Good
for Your Child though as it's tricky to get it just right
mine lived off that most their Childhood til they were in their
teens and when We tried normal bag cow milk none liked
it so had to go back to powdered
and yes I also used cloth diapers too lol

The point is there are options and alternatives...(Nice on the hemp seed milk very good!) What did people back in the day do? Well probably didn't whine about it they just did it.

As scary as the formula shortage is, it might actually work out to be a blessing in disguise. By making it at home, parents can take full control of the ingredients, and even increase the quality [hormone free products, no preservatives, etc], rather than relying on a processing plant and not knowing what junk goes into the formula.

Honestly, babies survived without pre-made formula for centuries and maybe it's time to roll the clock back on that.

just Know when it happens for any of Yall
that needs to Know,Your Baby can eat w/e
Ya make so long as Ya blend/purée it down enough
least this is what I did for all mine be it fruits/veggies or
meats not sure if there was much of a difference between
me doing that or the store bought jars maybe as stated
by Lurking009 more control over what's in it less additives
and preservatives
