I thought about putting this thread under health category but decided current event because i think it will be affecting all of us.
ok in my state on the state's website it said that autism rates had gone up by 900% increase. (i've gone back to look for this again and cannot find it now).
a lot of people have pointed to vaccines although the one major study has been discredited. the part that stands out to me about this is how many personal expierience stories of parents who say their kids changed dramaticaly and overnight right after receiving vax. are they mistaken? lying? why would they.
but forget vax for a moment. my state has banned mercury in them i think others have too. (however i was reading on mercola.com that other heavy metals are used as preservatives and they stay in the body and react with cell phone radiation THAT was scary)
some are now thinking farm chemicals. almost my entire state is sprayed with them. one in the news lately is glysophate known as round-up which the state of california just had labeled a carcinogen. so here is a chart comparing glysophate use and autism rates:
upload_2017-7-23_16-11-41.png

and i believe this should be the talk where the lady who is a professor at MIT released her findings:

But my real question is not what is causing autism but why are we not talking more about WHY this is happening? I don't know if the increase in "diagnosis" of the "spectrum" is figured into the statistics or not.
But what is to become of all these kids how will the next generation care for so many debilitated?

I don't think debilitating is the correct term to refer to autistic kids, there's just such a broad spectrum I guess where do we even start?

I definitely agree that autism is on the rise, every lesson I teach there are at least 2 autistic teens (out of a class of 20) and others that are on the spectrum (Aspergers I suspect) but remain undiagnosed. I can't tell you confidently why this is the case, probably an array of factors come into play but I do wonder why so many parents equate certain vaccines (namely MMR) with the social demise of their kids

I know my husband's friend has a boy similar in age to my son and he had his toddler vaccinations around March. Within a day or so the active bubbly happy boy just turned into a zombie, remained in an almost vegetated state. His mother was so distressed and after frequent doctor visits the professionals concluded he may have had a rare reaction to one of the vaccines but couldn't specify which one. The boy is still quite mellow now and doesn't interact much, I really don't know what's going on with these vaccines but something is up I believe...

With regards to diagnosis of autism, in my borough it's incredibly hard for a SEN department (special education needs) to diagnose a child with autism because the funding doesn't cover the specialist schools and specialism they need in order to thrive. They purposely palm of autistic kids to other departments, such as social care and label them as having learning difficulties or ADHD.

I don't know how the situation is in the states but it's very very difficult to get a diagnosis here and if you do, it's even more difficult to get help from the local authorities unless your child has a severe form of autism.

There's definitely a repression of discussion with regards to this topic, it's like health professionals are harbouring some sort of secret and they're duty bound to not let their guard slip

I'm conflicted, I have had my son vaccinated but I pray when he's about 4 I don't see him developing these traits so many parents see overnight.

Vaccines is just one side though, the pesticides and chemicals present in our store bought food and prolonged consumption of beefed up cows and ill poultry contributes to a child's development as well.

I try to give my boy organic foods and pay the little extra but in the long run when my family expands (if God wills) then it's not cost effective and I may have to result in buying store produce

The US is completelt different.. autism services are covered st 100% so are adhd doagnosis, no other mental health or developmemtal disorders are so from what ive seen theres some pressure to give these two diagnosis even when they dont necessarily fit.

I have no idea what causes it, i do knlw the diagnostic criteria have changed a lot over the years and expanded to include people who previously wouldnt have been considered autistic, no idea what impact that had on the rate of diagnosis either but i assume it had to have some

Theres definitely an increase in autism and many other genetic illnesses, maybe partly to do with vaccines but I believe its probably to do with all the hormones and additves in foods, preservatives, probably a lot to do with GM too which probably also affects the meat that comes from animals that we consume and also from fruits, vegetables and grains. I cant help but feel we are on a downward spiral with no way of getting back up. Wonder how many times the human race fell before, its only a matter of time it seems the way things are going. :|

With someone I know, if I remember with their youngest - that it was when they were recommending three rounds of this particular vaccine. And after the 2nd round, he started shaking when going into a sleeping state. This scared her understandably, and she didn't go through with the 3rd round. I don't remember how long it took for that particular symptom to stop? Anyway, I'm glad this topic is being discussed more in the "mainstream" because it's not AS controversial as it once was, I think.

yes i wonder if the studies have factored in increased diagnosis

a lot of the stories i've heard are from when a doctor suggest catching up on multiple missed shots at once. also if the child is there because sick in the first place...

Yeah, it's like your kid can never be sick as that is a bad thing.
With shots - I believe part of the problem too, other than the ingredients that are used, is they just pump these vaccines in a short period of time.

You'll likely remember, alot of good info. on vaccines in the gardasil thread done very recently, including your post on page 12 with the graph of autism/roundup use ;) Anyway, I couldn't find historical graphs on that thread so, here's a couple of sites talking about the increase of vaccines that we are pumping into our kids:

yeah when i was little we got like 5 vax, ever. today it just does not end from new born to college
i am familiar with the second site. terrible layout of site but AMAZING info
I think kids need 50 shots just to attend school. And don't be on Medicaid- Those folk are targeted if they miss shots. It's ridiculous.

Oh the hormones & chemicals affect ppl, but I think in different ways. Sterility, brain function, digestive function, central nervous function, but maybe not causing Autism specifically.

We are going to hell in a handbasket, that's for sure.

I think that's because Autism and ADHD are conditions which are proven developmental disorders (you are born with it) and that's still uncertain of other mental illness.

I could be wrong, I don't live in the US but that would make sense. Autism and AD(H)D both have a physical component, something in the brain is missing/wired differently. And as we cover physical illness more than mental illness, this logic makes sense.

I think it is with my aspergers son. He was 'different' even as a little person, and it just got more obvious as he got older until he finally got a diagnosis. Autistic children I have worked with seem similar - so anecdotally I would agree. For instance my son didn't talk till nearly 3 , and then all his words were vehicular - he called me 'car' instead of mom. When he began putting words together, it was like 'car bus trailer bike?' For sure his brain is wired differently!

Please, especially if you will be having children or do have them, watch Vaxxed, The Greater Good, and the truth About vaccines docu-series. No, vaccines are not the only cause of autism, but they are probably the biggest factor. Overuse of Tylenol is also related and synergistically damaging.

Keep in mind that autism is the tip of the iceberg. Over 50% of America's kids have a Chronic illness!! I was born in 1982 and I knew, maybe a handful of kids that had asthma, life threatening food allergies, or Type 1 or 2 diabetes. Now it's NORMAL.

I have 4 unvaccinated kids and they are so healthy. They are almost never sick, while their friends walk around with Epi-pens and inhalers. Their peers are constantly battling strep, ear infections, group, etc. Not one of my kids has ever had an ear infection or croup. Total strangers comment on how healthy they look. Yes I try to feed them a nutrient dense diet, but the biggest difference between them and their peers are the lack of 50+ toxic, immune system damaging injections.

thank you for sharing this sounds like you definitely have knowledge on the topic! for aspergers, is there a known cause?

wow that is awesome your kids so healthy!! we are going totally without vaccines.
it's crazy because both sides believe they are doing whats right and time will tell. good for you for not is it much of a pain with schools and stuff?
