True. It is not valid and misguidance.is generally not seen as valid.
God told us why He created the stars and having an affect on us one way or another is not one of the reasons why. Allah says in the Quran what translates as: "Say: None in the heavens and the earth knows the ghayb except Allah, nor can they perceive when they shall be resurrected." Therefore, going after astrology is at the very least, searching for something that is part of the unknown (which is forbidden except for what Allah and His Messenger have told us of the ghayb) and at most - major shirk.Astrology is the study of the movements and relative positions of celestial bodies interpreted as having an influence on human affairs and the natural world.
If God Wills celestial bodies to affect us in one way or another, there's no stopping it. He Created and Knows every secret of the universe.
AspiringSoul may have some input on that? I generally like how some people born on similar dates tend to share similar traits.
Nonetheless, it remains that God Does Not Depend on any of those celestial bodies to Create any of them effects whatsoever for us.
To me, it's simply the Greatness of The Almighty that He May Create whatever cause He Wills to generate whatever effect He Wills. God Bless

Seeking knowledge of the future by studying astrology or going to astrologists for their predictions is againt the way of our prophet Muhammad who said:
"The salah (daily prayer) of whoever approaches a fortune-teller and asks him about anything will not be accepted for forty days and nights." Sahih Muslim, vol. 4, p. 1211, no. 5440
"Whoever approaches an oracle or fortune teller has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad."
Sunan of Abu Dawud, vol. 3, p. 1095, no. 3895
This article provides clear proof that astrology contradicts tawheed.
