Ocasio-Cortez suggests she's open to dissolving Homeland Security

"I think so. I think we need to undo a lot of the egregious mistakes that the Bush Administration did," she replied. "I feel like it is a very qualified and supported position, at least in terms of evidence and in terms of being able to make the argument that we never should have created D.H.S., in the early two-thousands."

Hell yeah DHS was created in the fear aftermath of 9/11. I remember when DHS bullet stockpiles was a major talking point in conspiracy circles, so this should be supported.

i actually agree with removing homeland security.

two problems:

1. asking the government (satan) for help and you could easily end up with something even worse in its place (or the government will simply shift their intelligence to other ways and means).

- and -

2. once it is removed, will the government put out another massive false flag, blaming americans for "letting down their defenses"? we could end up with homeland security version 2.0, with cameras and recording devices everywhere (not that they cant listen in most anywhere these days, anyway).

1. I don’t necessarily disagree with you, it’s best to organize outside of institutions rendering them irrelevant, but I can’t argue against dissolving DHS. Provided it is replaced with nothing. Of course some of the essential functions will be transferred elsewhere, but at least AOC understands the Civil Liberties problems presented by DHS.

2. If it happens moog it happens.

But won't all that police state infrastructure come in handy when the socialistas finally seize power?

The loser sends a popular domestic. So T’man can choose like Coors or some shit and if I win I get Molson Ice.

For the record this a bet I want to lose

Wow, that AOC, she just brings the funny wherever she goes....
What’s funny about what she is saying? Maybe you’d reconsider if you or someone you know is wrongfully prosecuted on the sole basis of pre-crime and before someone tells me that DHS is there to stop terrorists, more Americans die from car accidents and heart disease than they do from marauding terrorists .

It's funny because everyone knows DHS is not going away.

Are you kidding? I have spent the last ten years or so of my career working in ports and airports, and I love the fact that we have officers patrolling, questioning, inspecting and working hard to keep us safe. Is it less convenient an more time consuming for me, and fellow travelers to get where we're going? Yes. Do I like having to remove my belt or shoes or hand over my ID upon entering a Point of Entry? No. But it's worth it.

CBP catches some nasty mfers, like on the daily, along with traffickers of guns, drugs, and people. The USCG interdicts millions of dollars worth of drugs every month, before they even reach our shores, and rescues people, like on the fkng daily. Now they have a Cybersecurity and Infrastructure bureau, and dollars to donuts, they've prevented some movie-level disasters we don't even know about.

I didn't agree with the founding of DHS after 9/11. I thought it was merely political posturing by Bush & Co. to make it look like they were doing something. But here we are 20 years later, and we haven't had another 9/11, and I am thankful. Coordinating the security agencies under one umbrella worked out pretty well, I guess.

Also, I know many of the guys and girls on-the-ground. They are good people, doing good things, and they deserve our respect for the (mostly) thankless yet important jobs they do.

So AOC can take her giant mouth and empty brain, and eat a bag of d*cks.

Atleast she is getting the conversation going.

Did these mfers and traffickers exist before DHS? Ofcourse they did. We completely disagree on 9/11. "We haven't had another 9/11", not because of the creation of DHS but because TPTB haven't needed one. The event that happened at the turn of the millenium, for them, is a "gift" that keeps on giving.
