Any Tick people on here?

Found a tick on my three year olds scalp two weeks ago now. Running my
Fingers over it, it still feels like there is a scab there. It’s not the head because I got the whole thing out and it doesn’t look black or necrotic. No bulls eye as far as I can tell but it’s taking an awfully long time to heal. Wondering if this is typical. Pic for reference.

Whoops it’s not letting me post the picture. Anyway it does not look swollen. Just scabbed like there’s a hard bump.

had two tiny ones on me. scratched em off, but the itchy bump lasts for about two weeks.
yes, thats normal-- it takes quite a long time to heal.

Amazingly i've never been ticked despite all the rough hiking and camping I used to do, but I had a wart on the knuckle of a finger once, so I used to "torture" it by holding it against a hot radiator, (the heat to hopefully kill any germs or virus in it) and rubbing all sorts of stuff into it like TCP, coca-cola, vinegar, ointments etc, and slice bits off with a razor blade, and eventually it surrendered and went.
The moral- if we've got an annoying pimple or whatever that won't seem to heal, torture it..
