Since this has been in the news of late, here is a thread for open discussion.
The left has upped the stakes in its guerilla operations against Republicans, as deep-pocketed groups fund protesters to show up to the offices and even houses of congressmen to protest their lack of "town hall" meetings.

The US left is becoming organized in their intimidation -

Is it going too far to go to politicians houses you disagree with? Will Antifa survive and thrive or will the media finally cover them in a fair way? Is rational discussion a thing of the past, never to be had between sides again?

Both sides do this, as do political fringe groups. Politics is all about money and manipulation.

Anyway, Antifa has been around in some form for at least twenty years. They aren't a new thing; they mostly remained out of the news because they only thing they did was stop some bands with sketchy politics from performing at venues and protest the G20. All those folks you saw protesting globalism? A lot of them were Antifa.

They became mainstream because of some rather public protests of Trump. While I don't think Trump is actually fascist, it's hard to deny that he used tactics of historical fascists in his campaign... And yes, I bet there's money going to Antifa. What most people don't seem to understand, however, is they are largely an anarchist organization and I'd wager many of them know they are getting played by the "left". But it's publicity for their cause, even if I think it will backfire in the end.

I agree with some of your points and you more or less admit to thinking they are funded which is one of the points I hope would be addressed. That said, they are majorly funded by Soros and others which is way different than their protests past. They are clearly anarchists in their original nature but are now more or less for hire. While some may serve the cause, others are clearly manipulating the group. What they have yet to face is the wrath of some wanting to shut them down or make them a terrorist type group or the new weather underground light. They now have the spotlight on them for violence and my thinking is this is just the start of a push by the right to neuter them. I am sure there are government instigators that have infiltrated many groups, but Antifa no longer seems grass roots like many of the ones they have faced off against. Antifa has done a pretty good job of making themselves look like the very nazi's they protest against by railing against free speech saying it is hate speech and becoming violent. The bigger picture may be to stop protests by all sides in the future with force which is something to think about.

22 Key Goals Of Zionist Communism In America
How Many Have Already Been Accomplished?

Communist Goals (1963) Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963

Current Communist Goals EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES Thursday, January 10, 1963 .

Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.

At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen:

22 Key Goals Of Zionist Communist Bolshevism In America

1. Do away with all loyalty oaths.

2. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

3. Gain control of all student newspapers.

4. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

5. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

6. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

7. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."

8. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

9. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

10. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

11. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."

12. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."

13. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

14. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

15. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture."

16. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

17. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

18. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].

19. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.

20. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

21. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

22. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use "united force" to solve economic, political or social problems.

When did Zionism get added to that? It wasn't part of the original list that Skousen published.

I don't think the right has much fear of being "neutered". Ignoring that our political "left" is usually still right of center on a global level, Fox News dominates the ratings, socialism is still a dirty word to a lot of people (and they confuse it with communism), and even left of center politicians like Sanders get badmouthed by the establishment and called "unrealistic".

Antifa's actions also aren't that different than they've ever been... They's never really been in favor of allowing nazis to have their say and they've pretty much always fought them, physically, in the streets. The only difference is now they are actually in the mainstream... Largely because they can be useful idiots.

Mind you, that doesn't mean I don't think they've been infiltrated (they've even claim that the violence in the recent G20 was encouraged by uncover cops) but the core will remain; if mainstream Antifa becomes corrupt by capitalist American politics, the old guard will break away.

When the governor of NJ - Christie - decided to wage a public campaign blaming all the states economics problems on public servants (teachers, police, firefighters, CPS workers etc) and pushed to raise healthcare payments by these workers to absurd levels and completely deplete their pensions... I sincerely considered staging a protest at his house - the governors mansion. I was legally advised not to because I would be arrested and charged for some pretty crazy shit due to the venue (I don't remember what anymore this was in 2010). I don't see why protesting at a politicians house is a problem, the whole point of protest is doing it somewhere that will get the most attention for your cause and hopefully make it most likely the person who can do something will see/hear what you are trying to say.

They've been trying to stop protests on all sides for years. Passing laws. Using extreme policing to break them up. This is atleast since the original occupy. No one on the right gave a shit until recently.. wonder why.

Ah, but the right just stood back and watched which is the difference and allowed the protests to proceed. Antifa is knocking out freedom of speech. The only thing about protesting at a persons residence is it then becomes hyper personal by involving their family, neighbors and shutting down public streets. There should be at least one safe place any human being can go to but not multiple ones. But lets keep it real and think about how the news treats stories and goes into homes and on the streets waiting for people in the news. That said, it is open for discussion on what is and isn't acceptable practice. Personally, I think there should be some sort of thing in place to keep the media from doing certain things, but then again that is limiting freedom of press. Still, decorum and rational rights have to come into play as well. You know, people talk of those FEMA camps and such. The question is which side might get to know them in the near future and if it matters as long as half the population is controlled. Countries that have done that kind of thing before then go to re-education of their citizens for total control. Still, I don't think some on the left were ready for the right to stand up and protest and rally and I am not talking white sups...I still ROTFLMAO at all the media outlets that had polls where Hillary would win by a landslide and magazines printed victory copies before the election. The outcome was a major butt-hurt for the left which had their way for 8 years. The media today is completely out of touch with America and pushing an agenda while living in a small box in NYC or D.C. where they feel their tainted views are the only views. The country is in a hot mess right now and mainly because of the influence pushers who failed to get their way. But the deep state is entrenched and we are seeing them start to pull the strings on Trump to send more troops and create the chaos they've wanted. My bottom line is to remove Antifa and socialist right nazi types from the equation and allow the real, untainted, non hired people to protest to their desire with actual free speech while remaining open to debate and discussion on the issues with no race baiting, screaming, etc. Pipe dream, I know.

i was at occupy from the beginning to when the NYC police came in at midnight or so with trucks and forced everyone out. they were plenty of anarchists and communists there, but also LOTS of ron paul libertarians like myself attacking corporatism and not capitalism. no one was against free speech there, and no one became physical with anyone else for thinking a certain way. those that DID misbehave were planted there by the police. they would purposely dump the alcoholics and drug abusers that were released from the station at the park. we would feed them, and then they often got nasty so our security people forced them out of our area since the police had orders not to help us. this went on for several weeks. not one person abused a police officer. many of them were cordial and had open dialogue with us. we were armed only with signs and posters.
this is absolutely NOT the case with antifa.

I was at occupy as well.. I guess u missed the Wall Street trust fund babies heckling everyone both in person and belligerantly complaining online loud as shit that we should all just go get jobs etc (which I had a job btw, a pretty freaking good one).

I guess the insane police violence and suppression didn't bother u either. The protest itself was peaceful and inclusive. But the situation surrounding it not so much. Those cops scared the shit out of me. For good reason.

i also had a job and would take a bus in for the weekend and on some weekdays to volunteer there. lots of people did. lots did not. lots were there to party and screw around.

the "trust fund babies" were the labels put on the occupy administration. the wall street PEOPLE who did the heckling us from the windows were something else. i wasnt there to protest wall street. i was there to bring awareness to the revolving goverment- corporate door.

the police were not violent except when "yell" and some others were maced. if i recall correctly, they had a lawsuit against the city for that, and i think the police knew they were in the wrong there. the majority of the police were cool and sympathetic. even the undercover ones infiltrating us. a few were bad, but not many. i think the NYPD performed fairly, for the most part. the psychological attacks and the police crane were something else.

anyway, the occupy wall street crowd was not ANYTHING like antifa. we never behaved like animals.

I never said they were. Just that the right did not sit down and quietly allow the protest to go on without incident. The corporate right shut down location access, the police were instructed to break it up as well. The everyday right heckled protestors there and complained ad nauseum about it despite it being a peaceful accepting open movement.

And a lot of those Wall Street types that did the heckling were in fact the equivalent of a trust fund baby.. I grew up with them. Daddy got them their job while they were still in college. Daddy works there too. I had relatives on Facebook bitching and complaining about it for what seemed all day every day.

If you were there to protest the revolving lobbyist door or the influence of money in politics u were there to protest Wall Street whether u realize it or not. Capitalism is fine, unfettered pseudo capitalism is a problem and happens to be closer to what we have.

With that aside the statement was these latest protests are orchestrated to eliminate our right to protest. But that started many years ago. No one cared though, people applauded it. Now they care because it's their side in the streets so to speak.

And other cities occupy movements saw far more violence then NYs. From police and otherwise.

agree on everything but the last line, if you are referring to the right as 'they' . people care now because free speech is being threatened. this has nothing to do with the right or left. why is this so hard for people to see?

Free speech was always being threatened. No one cared until now. When swat teams broke up non violent occupy protests free speech was threatened. When they passed laws that u can't protest where secret service is present free speech was threatened. When governments started making their employees sign gag orders in exchange for a job and virtually eliminated their right to protest by dilineating approved times venues free speech was threatened. We could go on and on here. The same people calling on free speech now were applauding or atleast staying silent then.

I was concerned the whole time. Others didn't start complaining until their right to racist hateful shit came into question. Sorry if I can't overlook the hypocrisy.
