Yeah all I can see this doing is reenergizing his base and getting people who previously voted for him but are now on the fence/losing support for him back in line. I don’t see any advantage the left could gain from this at all.

Remember the 'ripping babies from mothers arms' narrative? Of course you all do. However this time around the current migrant caravan isn't looking so good politically, so now it's a complex scheme conjured up by the right... says the left. Amazing.

The whole fiasco over the summer with the internment camps really didn't move the needle in favor of the left and likely rallied the right to some degree, so no.

Most liberals aren’t undiscerning bleeding hearts. So no.

The site of thousands of people marching on our borders doesn’t elicit empathy unless they were fleeing an immediate gonocide or something. If anything it elicits fear.

People tend to support things like immigration when it is more hypothetical, not so much when it’s in their face.

The situation with the children was entirely different and my guess is that you know that.
