Declaring success in Syria, Trump strengthens Russia’s hand

US president ceded American influence over large part of the Middle East to rivals, plunging region into uncertainty

By AAMER MADHANI and ROBERT BURNS

WASHINGTON (AP) — US President Donald Trump declared success in Syria and created a bumper-sticker moment to illustrate his campaign promise to put a stop to American involvement in “endless wars.”

But with his abrupt withdrawal from what he called “bloodstained sand,” the Republican president ceded American influence over a huge swath of the region to rivals and may have spun the Middle East into a new season of uncertainty.

In remarks at the White House, Trump made the case that American administrations before him wasted too much money and blood on sectarian and tribal fighting in which the US had no place meddling.

“We have spent $8 trillion on wars in the Middle East, never really wanting to win those wars,” Trump said Wednesday. “But after all that money was spent, and all those lives lost, the young men and women, gravely wounded so many, the Middle East is less safe, less stable and less secure than before these conflicts began.”

“10 Thus saith the Lord God; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:

11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,

12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.

13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?”

But who are the “Merchants of Tarshish”?

I wondered when the second part of the “Deal of the Century” might resurface - it seems that not everyone is receptive to Deal V1.0...

PA: 'Deal of the Century is the 'Fraud of the Century'

PLO's Saeb Erekat says Trump administration's peace deal is against international law.

Saeb Erekat, Secretary-General of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee, on Saturday blasted the so-called “Deal of the Century”, the US peace initiative which is due to be unveiled next week by US President Donald Trump.
Erekat stated that any attempt, deal or dictate that would deny the fact that Israel is an “occupying force” that took power over the territory of “Palestine” within the 1967 borders, including eastern Jerusalem, would be remembered in history as "the Fraud of the Century".

The steps taken by the Trump administration to date and the partnership with Netanyahu, Erekat said, will be remembered as a fraud targeting international law, international legitimacy and the defining sources of authority of the peace process.

In the meantime, the Fatah movement, led by Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas, said that the “Deal of the Century” is intended to serve Netanyahu's election campaign.

Osama al-Qawasma, a member of the Fatah revolutionary council, stressed that the Trump administration will not be able to find any Arab leader to buy its “defective goods” and that the US and Israel will not be able to determine the fate of “Palestine”.

Trump announced on Thursday that the long-awaited peace plan will be unveiled next week, before Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz arrive in Washington to discuss the plan.

PA leaders reacted angrily to the invitation, with Abbas’ spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, stressing the PA's "total opposition" to the peace plan.

They haven’t heard it yet, and they’re already preparing to protest it violently.

Gog and Magog? Russia Warns Israel of War Over Syria
What many Israelis deemed unthinkable now seems possible amid tensions over Syria.
February 17, 2020 | Israel Today Staff

Russia’s ambassador to Syria this week issued what some saw as a veiled threat should Israel continue bombing Iranian assets in the war-torn country.

On February 6, an aerial attack on a target near Damascus killed 20 Syrian and Iranian military officials. It also caused Syrian air defenses to inadvertently fire on an airplane carrying 172 passengers. The plane managed to safely land at a nearby airport.

Israel Defense Minister Naftali Bennett later hinted that the attack was just another in a long series of Israeli strikes against Iranian assets that are admittedly in Syria for the purpose of threatening the Jewish state.
But Russian Ambassador Alexander Yefimov wasn’t interested in Israeli justifications.
In an interview with Sputnik Arabic, Yefimov called the Israeli raids “provocative and very dangerous.” He further cautioned that “this increases the possibility of conflict over Syria.”
Since Syria is already in conflict, his warning was taken to mean that the ongoing Israeli raids could eventually result in an armed clash between the Jewish state and Russian forces in the region.

Israeli political and military officials have never been shy about referencing the biblical “War of Gog and Magog.” It’s something they believe is going to happen.

However, given the warm relations between Jerusalem and Moscow in recent years, many found it hard to believe the traditional interpretation that this great Gentile army would include Russia.

But, Ambassador Yefimov is not wrong about the stage being set for the kind of incident, intentional or not, that could suddenly turn friends into foes.

Israel is aware of this risk, but apparently deems the threat of Iranian hegemony to be greater than the possibility of accidentally sparking an apocalyptic showdown with Russia.

Isn’t there evidence that Gog and Magog is Turkey and not Russia?

I think we will know best when whoever it turns out to be shows their hand (if we’re still here)...

I do find it interesting that both Putin and Erdogan have recently elevated their own national positions to an emperor-like status!

Looking at what is going on in the US right now and if liberal left dominates US, any war declared on Israel for sure US wont be there to help her...looking closely at the Ezekiel 38 prophecy...this might happen soon.

Life in America before and after the Trump “Peace to Prosperity” plan was delivered on January 28, 2020 - William Koenig

Life in America before and after the Trump “Peace to Prosperity” plan was delivered on January 28, 2020

The following information will give a unique perspective on what life and the economy was in the United States when President Trump introduced the “Peace to Prosperity” plan for the Israelis and the Palestinians on January 28, 2020—and what it is now. Today the United States and the world are experiencing a massive coronavirus epidemic with over 3 billion people asked to stay at home.

The massive shock to the American economy and the financial markets runs into the trillions of dollars and is growing daily. The United States had 5 confirmed coronavirus cases on January 28 and on April 3, 261, 438 caseswith the numbers growing daily.
Eye to Eye - 131 record setting events - just under $1 trillion in property loss

There were 127 record setting events documented in Eye to Eye including Hurricane Harvey and four additional hurricanes (Irma, Maria, Florence, and Michael) during Trump’s term. Events included . . .
  • The 20 costliest hurricanes in U.S. history, most of the largest tornado outbreaks in U.S. history, the most significant terrorism event in U.S. history, and one of the largest earthquakes in U.S. history
  • 5 record setting hurricanes (whose names were retired because of the size) during President Trump/Jared Kushner’s peace efforts in 2017 and 2018
  • Property loss of just under $1 trillion
A peace deal will be made by a world leader and/or the Antichrist and not likely an American president.

The Bible speaks of a final-day peace deal, but I don’t believe an American president will be the sponsor; every president who has been active in the peace process has paid an enormous price. Our country has too. Especially affected were those actively working on the boundary maps, such as President GHW Bush, President GW Bush, and President Donald Trump.

And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. (Daniel 9:27 KJV)

But American presidents’ actions have played a significant role in accelerating us to this prophetically important time. In full appreciation, President Trump has done more for Israel than any other presidents combined. But America has paid an enormous price for our presidents’ active role in the peace process, which has continued despite warnings.

Toxic consequences for those with specific plans and with maps; life will never be the same due to the 9-11 terror events and the coronavirus pandemic
  • President GHW Bush went from the highest approval of an American president in history before the land-for-peace Madrid Conference of October 30–November 1, 1991, to being voted out of office 12 months later.
  • President GW Bush never recovered from the 9-11-2001 terror events when he was completing his two-state plan with the dividing of Jerusalem. And after that event, 9500 Jews were forced from their homes in Israel followed by the rapid formation of Hurricane Katrina, which became the costliest storm in U.S. history.
  • President Trump is facing the largest crisis in modern presidential history: a disruptive event due to a highly contagious pathogen from China that has caused massive economic consequences and a disruptive impact on life in America as never before experienced.

The state of America before the Peace and Prosperity plan and map were introduced on January 28, 2020

  • The United States was arguably experiencing the best economy in U.S. history.
  • A $21.43 trillion Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2019 set an all-time record.
  • We were experiencing the highest employment and the lowest unemployment in history.
  • DOW Jones hit all-time high February 12; S&P and NASDQQ hit all-time high on February 19.
  • U.S. became the largest producer of oil in the world with just under 13 million barrels a day being produced.
  • Phase one of the U.S.-China trade deal was signed at the White House on January 15, 2020. The $200 billion trade deal includes "an average" of $40 billion a year for the next two years in agricultural purchase targets from the Chinese; a pledge to purchase $77.8 billion more in U.S. manufactured goods, such as cars, aircraft and farm machinery; $52.4 billion in U.S. oil and gas purchases; $37.9 billion in financial and other services; and increased protections for U.S. intellectual property.
  • Tax relief allowed U.S. corporations to be able to better compete with foreign companies. Individual tax breaks helped stimulate the U.S. economy.
  • Just under 200 conservative federal judges were appointed to the Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals, and District Courts.
  • Major battle between good and evil raged on all levels in America. – Isaiah 5:20

The two state solution was dead long before Trump came along with his preposterous plan. What we now have is the long road to a single state of 1 state. 1 people. 1 vote...of course the Palestinians will have to live through a long and agonising life of apartheid before that 1 state becomes a reality.

As for the 'prosperity'...more preposterous Trump & gang nonsense. The World Bank in October 2013 had already stated that,

" More than half the land in the West Bank, much of it agricultural and resource rich, is inaccessible to Palestinians. The first comprehensive study of the potential impact of this ‘restricted land,’ released by the World Bank today, sets the current loss to the Palestinian economy at about US$3.4 billion. "

world bank

Let's just face the truth that America and Israel have been shafting the Palestinians for decades.

What a difference nine months make.

In late January, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu headed off to Washington, DC, promising to “make history” in the US capital where US President Donald Trump would unveil his long-awaited Israeli-Palestinian peace plan.

Delighted with the proposal and its pro-Israel orientation, Netanyahu brought along with him a delegation of settler leaders whom he expected were finally being handed a peace plan that they could get behind — a plan that recognized the Jewish people’s historic ties to the West Bank (biblical Judea and Samaria) and did not ask Israel to uproot its communities there. In fact, Netanyahu initially believed, the plan and its context amounted to a US blessing for Israel to immediately annex all of the settlements, as part of the 30 percent of the West Bank allocated to Israel.
Nine months have passed, and Mr. Netanyahu is again heading to Washington, where on Tuesday he’ll sign a normalization agreement with the United Arab Emirates and a “Declaration of Peace” with Bahrain — the first such treaties with Arab states in more than a quarter of a century.

But this time, at least as of this writing, no settler leaders are slated to join the prime minister for the celebratory ceremony. Indeed, many of the West Bank mayors wouldn’t agree to tag along if invited.
