It's a great show, lots of fun story ideas. You should definitely check it out, it covers the whole spectrum of strange topics. And Duchovny plays his character like the guy's a neurotic cornball with butter fingers (he always drops his gun), so it never gets too serious for its own good.
(And the "lone gunmen", Mulder's friends, are a funny yet respectful parody of conspiracy theorist types, so we're represented! They eventually got a spin off show, but it was cancelled too soon.)
Lol!

@Bent8484 who’s the actor that plays the dad in the scene? His voice sounds familiar.
I wonder if instead of predictive programming..tptb watches tv or movies and says that might work...lol!
In a way, the Lone Gunmen cancellation signals the shift in North American social attitudes towards conspiracy theorists. We used to be portrayed as well intentioned, if a bit paranoid, mostly harmless anti establishment types, with a mix of geek chic and counter culture cool.
After 9/11, because of the pushback against the truther community, media started portraying us as dangerous to society, irresponsible threats to national security, mean spirited hoaxers and cultist types, etc. That trend has only escalated since.
Can you tell me which episodes are those? I watched the whole series like 10 years ago, but I didn't know anything about conspiracies back then, so I thought there were just pretty good damn stories. I want to rewatch it all over again with new eyes.
S02E03, "Blood" Drugged people receive subliminal messages to act as manchurian candidates;
S02E12, "Aubrey" A bit diluted but still has Monarch Program to it if you search the program's name origin;
S02E14, "Die Hand..." SRA and the whole package that comes with it;
S02E24, "Our Town": cannibalism with the purpose of extending one's life, stand-in for adrenochrome harvesting;
