Aren't you some form of univeralist? From that premise, it really doesn't matter what they believe. Based on that line of thinking, what would make most sense would be to take a Taoist approach and not really care what they believe. I think that is the approach most consistent with the premise and that the other approach represents a contradiction of the premise.
