Regretfully, but I have made so many posts about it, I wouldn't know where to point out, I also talked about the story of his "poor" family not being entirely correctly due to some informations I have found on the internet.

Either you go through the thread, or use the search form. Luckily I have used his name - one of the reasons I have asked people to use their full name is also to be able to find things about a member/person when searching.
So you can type his name in the search form, this thread and under members enter my name.

I can't imagine any parent allowing BigHit and Bang the amount of manipulation and abuse/extortion they're exercising. The most towards Taehyung because he's the most bankable one.

Even if it's somehow my profession, though I don't consider what BTS and the rest are doing as honorable, it took me a while to see through things and understand the way the industry works. You learn it little by little observing and experiencing things. Naturally your reaction is a logical one, how would someone who isn't on the wrong side of the industry understand or even know all that.

I am putting here together some of the things I've elaborated in the past: Nothing about them is real, only an image. The "my family was poor", "I've been through so many hardships", etc..

You like someone, this will automatically appeal to your "mother" instinct, hence a previous post of mine about fans "mothering" them, jumping in because they created this scenario where they always need to be "saved" by the fans.

Taehyung's family is the worst in my opinion and it makes me personally angry knowing the type of parent that would do something like this.

They got rid of him when he was young, though they weren't poor, for whatever reason didn't wanted to raise him, bought him little things when they would visit every now and then (which is why he abundantly buys presents or gifts for others in order to buy their love, because that's what his father did), his own grandmother didn't care much about what's going on with him but he obviously got money and toys and everything he wanted, which is why rather than learning he was playing around with others.

He lives under the notion that no matter what he's doing, people must love him, because his parents and grandparents ignorance made him believe that no matter what he does, everything it's fine.

Usually people tell stories like...oh, one time, I did something bad and my parents were so angry....Taehyung did a lot of shit, bad grades, drinking, staying out late, yet people in his family didn't seem to care.

I have analyzed and exposed at least from my point of view some lies of BigHit/Bang regarding their made-up "humble" beginnings.

They were dealing with big money productions since their debut. Right from the start they were traveling all over the world. His parents undoubtedly must have seen and enjoy the benefits of Taehyung being with BigHit from the beginning.

From a psychoanalytical aspect, Taehyung's constant mentioning of his father is a sign of deception. He needs to mention his father, constantly running for his approval (which I have talked about on several occasions in the past), same thing he did with Bang.

Even his affection for Jungkook, and he seem to have been obsessed with him, not just "affection", is a sign that he has always tried to make up for the family he actually didn't have.

With respect for all the orphans, but the worse abuse in childhood besides physical one, is not the one of having no parents, but living with parents who abandon or ignore you, because as human beings or young people until we realize it, we will go at any length to protect the image of our parents, even if it means destroying ourselves and the psychological damages as a result of childhood abandonment or parental ignorance (which isn't described just by having an asshole of a parent who doesn't care what you are saying, but also by a worst case - the one of a parent who behaves like he cares) are hard to repair affecting your life which can be dangerous if you ignore the signs.
A little example : he knows it very well he can't sing anymore but also knows that his fans will still worship him no matter what. So rather than practice he just sits there playing video games. Anything but work, even when he knows he screw up.

Ultimately it is in one hand's to solve the issues, but like I've said - 25 and playing games rather than picking up a book and learn something about life, educate yourself, learning...at 25 parents are no longer to be blamed for whatever is going on in your life.
i feel bad for him, really. Somewhat similar, this case reminds me of txt and some of the members. I believe all of the members come from rich families or families that are well- off, but whats different is that most of their parents opposed the idea of them becoming idols. Soobin said once in a vlive that he sent his audition to the company without his parents knowing and only told them after he passed, and his parents kept telling him not join. And judging by what soobin said, I think he chose to become an idol too because he didn't want to go to school and study like his parents wanted him to.
Beomgyu has also said once that he doesn't know who he was anymore and that he wishes to become like his father :( I feel like he's trying hard to get his father's approval, because Im pretty sure his father opposed (and still does) the idea of him becoming an idol, and when one of the other members said that his father would be very happy to hear that he said that, beomgyu responded by saying that his father probably won't even watch the show :( They really should have listened to their parents. They're so young, but they willingly chose this for themselves. They will not be happy in the long run. And especially beomgyu bc it hasn't even been a third year since their debut and he already is feeling depressed and rethinking his decision. Fans could say otherwise but judging by how he's been lately and how he recently broke down at a fanmeeting, I don't think he's happy at all.

This reminds me of Tae's bully who lied to him about the birthday party and yeah, even there you get to see Tae being all alone and naive. Those people around him whether they were his parents or friends, really seemed to inflict deep scars into his heart. Personally, i feel sorry for him. There is also Jk who was very young when he first got into the industry and to be honest, i don't know anything about his childhood. But fact is, his parents willingly let a mere teenager sign into the company. No responsibility in here either. In fact, i don't know shit about any of their childhoods. Well, all except Tae and Suga (whose parents were in fact against the idea) but whether they or Suga were right, i can't tell.
yeah i think i heard they let him go to l.a. too practice dancing, i think it was with the company but im not sure.

But once again, like boti has said in the previous post, we have the phenomenon of them chososing adventure and fame instead of studying like everybody else. It's mostly people who want to prove something to someone that choose the 'easier' way. Of course i can't read minds and therefore, have no idea about their motives. But everyone has social media by now and have the opportunity to learn more about industry life and how things work

Ahhh i see i see
what do you think about theultimatedodo on youtube? the person who goes to probably every single kpop concert or event that has ever existed and gets first row or close to the stage for all of them. I dont even know how she managed to get first row tickets for bts's concerts, given that the raffle process was very difficult. I think she's also been attending bts concerts and events ever since they debuted.

i think its a girl, her names deborah. I remember people tried to cancel her on twitter for jumping in front of bts's car one time while it was moving, and they also tried to cancel her for asking jungkook when he was 15 to call her "deborah noona" during a fansigning event...

just look at the comments lol

I don’t think it has anything to do with the Beatles/planned.

BTS is a short name, easy to remember and given the fact that they have about four different definitions for what the name represents ( Bangtan Boys, Bangtan Sonyeondan, Beyond the Scene Bulletproof Boy Scouts) , which is kind of embarrassing especially since every definition means something else, and observing what I have pointed out in the past, that BigHit/Bang don’t have a plan, they just throw things around to see what flies the best, my best guess is that given the Bangtan Sonyeondan’s English abbreviation is BTS, when they started being famous in America it was a good fit.

Notice how they used to say their name in Korean but now they only say - “we are BTS”.
I don’t know about that Namjoon interview but BTS sounds better than BTSD.

Try it at home. You can say in an articulate way, the way the members pronounce it, BTS with a single move, even with a little break between the letters. You only need to move your jaw once, for the letter "s". But for BTSD you need more time and in order to make the space between the letters equal, you'd need more articulation and effort for each letter.

You can’t forget BTS because it’s an abbreviation used very often in English.
The Beatles and BTS don’t sound similar as a name.

Next I’ll go into branding.
Nowadays all those superficial things are the key to quick success - the branding, the image, spending tons of money on name affiliations, how to present yourself, what personality to promote as a public persona, what colors to use (if you remember that yellow umbrella discussion and HongKong), etc.

I talked briefly about how they changed the presentation from “biggest boy band in the world” to “biggest band”. Branding tactic.

The linking of the Beatles conversation is also something that belongs to Branding, to a certain team of people who would do an unimaginable number of tests, work on endless different scenarios to see what looks best, what gives the best return numbers.

It’s a similar process when you promote with google ads. CTR/CPR algorithms and many others. How using certain words in certain situation and certain context can generate 1,000 x more money than randomly placing some words in an add or headline.

Nothing is random. Not even a comma.
Not just for BTS but anything else that’s famous. Either people or products.
It’s all high marketing.

The thing with Beatles/BTS “similarity” made headlines beneficial for both, it even brought more streams for the Beatles and Paul McCartney which I believe was already asked ( by Colbert) months prior to the moment when they performed, McCartney was on the show, or something like that, about BTS - not coincidence.

the marketing team came up with this idea of recreating a similar scenario, on stage, in the press, the Wembley concert attracted even more people and media attention and everyone won.

The average person who has no clue about those things, hears BTS, the comparison and a certain image about both of them is already shaped in the mind of the consumer.

The reason why covers are so successful is because the public is already accustomed to the original. Many people on YouTube have made careers because they sang covers. Not because they were good singers.

People would come to listen to different versions of a song.
Same goes for the BTS Beatles comparison.
I would have been bothered by the comparison. But sneaky sneak Paul was glad over making some extra cash.

Don't think this is valid only for pop/kpop/etc. It's the same in the classical world - Anna Netrebko, Lang Lang, Yuja Wang. All marketed with an image for which a whole management team is working in great detail.

When I talk about their desperation for fame, I consider all those elements I myself have also experienced. One has to be a real idiot and desperate to have lived for nearly 10 years surrounded by people who treat you like a monkey, a product in a zoo, spending hours with many other people in a room working on what persona to promote, what image, what color, what movement, walk, topic to talk about, what to say, all of this in an blunt matter of exploitation of young girls. Remember the quiz about mental issues. They wanted to know all those details to make a profile over what would sell best.

It's what google, facebook, instagram, etc.. are doing. Collecting your data, likes, searches, in order to market those products that fit your profile.
The 2021 version of MK Ultra. And they are even getting paid while you make nothing from them collecting your data.

Last thought - I doubt Bang thought about Beatles when he decided the name of the band. For him having a band in Asia selling the products of his investors was the main target. It wouldn't be the first time a band copies or recreates something of another band.
I didnt say that BTS and the Beatles sounds similar, I said it LOOKS similar. That's why I said look at the drums. But maybe I explained it poorly.
That's a great point about covers, I haven't thought of that.
By the way, I found that old "interview" about the BTS name, but it's merely an off-hand remark. I think my memory made it more significant than it is. But if anyone is interested, it's quite an interesting interview. B-Free got his music videos disliked by a bunch of ARMY after this.

By the way, if it's okay to ask, I'm so curious, were you always so critical of BTS? I mean, was there a point when you liked them or their music? I might be mistaken, but I think you said before that their dances aren't that imaginative, and that they aren't particularly good at dancing, except for Jimin (which I cant comment on, I know nothing of dancing) and that Tae, Jimin and Kook can't properly sing. (And seeing Tae's live performance, I can sadly see what you mean). So with your experience I'm guessing you always saw through them. But was there a time when you didn't see them like that and actually enjoyed their music or performances?
For me personaly Wings was the last album I enjoyed. But now for some reason I don't even have much of a desire to listen to their music, I think I just got bored of it.
The way you critisize, for example, Tae, makes me think that you actually kind of used to like him, and that you care, that's why you want him to get his life in order. Otherwise I think you wouldn't care what he was doing with his voice or with his life.

Oh god, he roasted them really bad without giving two shi## and he is actually right. Especially the last line where he said that idols are not musicians but mere products. And Bts knows that. Army is so annoying that the only thing they've understood from the video is 'how dare he mock Bts', 'oh but look at our boyz now, that guy sure has eaten his words' and blablaa the same thing over and over again. Army act like they are Bts' mother's or guardian. And yeah, that guy for sure didn't 'eat his words' because everyone with a brain can understand what exactly he was implying. Not even implying, he has said it directly so it is impossible to twist his words. Being a rapper and idol are two very different things.
This makes me thinking; in all of Yoongi's 'Agust D' mixtapes he mentions some people who are 'a joke calling themselves rappers' or that he can't afford living like a dog because he is a Tiger. So either
a)he wants to shade someone and feel better because is exactly what he shouldn't be as a rapper
b) his other persona is shading HIM (like some kind of self reflection
c) In his Shadow video he implied what that guy above said to him, he is viewed as a product by his so called 'fans' (he wants to run away and escape but is surrounded by countless hands with no faces)
Yoongi and Tae are also my favourite members out of the group whereas Jimin was the third one but the others in the group...i didn't care even when i was a 'fan'.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to imply that you said the name sounds like Beatles, it was just one of the examples I gave to support why I doubt Bang planned a connection to them.

----------

Watching the video you posted, I can say that the entire discussion was way too decent from a professional point of view. That guy, B-free expressed the issue of being a rapper or doing hip-hop which stands against everything BTS represents, a commercial product meant to attract young girls.

A bit similar to when people come and say “I am a singer”, or like they say about BTS/Beyoncé/Billie Eilish/etc ...they’re singers or dancers when in fact they aren’t any of those, yet they want to be considered as such.
Namjoon and Yoongi were there as rappers, that guy simply pointed out to the fact that a rapper has his own will, writes his own lyrics, expresses his own thoughts, doesn’t become a marketing tool.
At no point did he said that they are a joke, which they were and definitely are in this case.
A rapper doesn’t go on stage with make up and shades for girls, acting like monkeys, or “cute”, etc.
Namjoon and Yoongi where there trying to pretend, which they do even more nowadays, that they are rappers to be taken seriously, writing their own lyrics, expressing their own thoughts.
And they’re there promoting sofas or make-up for Bang..

Another thing that I’ve also pointed out to, was there complaining about how “hard” it was that Yoongi couldn’t earn money with his songs.
maybe what he was writing wasn’t that good;
music isn’t something that you do for money, as the chances are that 99.9% of the people end up not earning money from this profession;
his parents aren’t poor, so his choice to not have a serious profession, but becoming a rapper, against his parents will, was his decision. Reality is that many rappers do come from poor families and they don’t have parents giving them an option;
Yoongi never studied music so it’s quite arrogant and unintelligent to expect living from music, when you didn’t even studied this profession.

That guy probably was annoyed about Bang, maybe even knowing some things because this world is a small one and things travel around about people, so he mentioned that having difficulties to live off rapping, is something that everyone in the room has dealt with, including him.

Another thing related to Bang, B-Free says it between the lines, that Yoongi is full of bullshit, thinking that once he has money through his affiliation with Bang, or being part of his “hip-hop” group, he’s going to change his financial situation and not become a product. Their “idol”. Which is what Yoongi not only did, but the group was basically canceled. It no longer became a hip-hip group, but worse than any other boy group at that time.
How many times didn’t Yoongi thought about quitting ..? Many times.
In the end he renewed his contract and in the past two years with the exception of his solo-cd, which, like any other solo-project, went unnoticed to not influence the presence of the band as a whole, Yoongi is gone.
Their lyrics are the same and it damn looks that way, that they are not writing their lyrics. Not entirely. And are being told what to write.

I took some screenshots of the topics mentioned, I have to upload them in two messages due to the 10 attachments limit:

--------

I don’t mind your question, it was put out in a polite way and you are correct in your observations about me.

Right from the start - if it wouldn’t be for Taehyung and Yoongi, but especially Taehyung since Yoongi hasn’t done anything in the past two years, I wouldn’t be following BTS.
I didn’t discover the band from the news, it was played as next while I was watching something on YouTube and I’ve watched/listened at once following songs : all cyphers, ddaeng, D (Yoongi’s song), My City, Fake Love, Mic Drop, Sea, Truth Untold, and then several videos of Taehyung singing live little moments on stage and that video when he sings “oh happy day”.
As far as the band goes, I liked everything from the beginning and I was hyped to listen to something new that I like, which I enjoy every time no matter what it is, simply good music that attracts me. It gives me an euphoria and that’s all I care about.
Beginning of Fake Love Video was awesome, but then it started with the awful gay vibes and bad make-up : Jimin, though I’ve noticed his dancing from the beginning, Namjoon (dna seems to be his worst video), Hoseok with that scene surrounded by chocolate and Yoongi with the same hair style I used to wear in the 5th grade.
With so much make up and too many colors in the video, I started disliking second to second more, the only one who caught my attention, especially since I wasn’t able to discern between any of them, they were all looking the same (it goes without saying, that for a non-Asian person, when you dress up 7 boys in the same way, filled with all rainbow colors and lots of shots per second, it’s kind of hard to notice who is who), was Jungkook.
Something in his eyes caught my attention and his moment (running) was the only one that I liked. The rest were to cringy “dramatic” and gay for me.
But Jungkook had what it takes to be the center of attention and I liked the way he moves his body (up until today). I am not referring to it as in a sexual way, but he oozes a certain attraction when he moves, minus the moments where he goes out crazy on stage, which doesn't look good.
Either way - at that moment I liked everything I discovered not knowing that those were old songs and I discovered the band around 2018 when they started promoting homosexuality in America, their music and style changed dramatically and very fast.
I didn't like the band as to "oh, cute boys", half of the things I watched first was only audio, but, of course, being a girl, seeing Jungkook in Fake Love caught my attention.

Only a few months after discovering them, they performed at Billboard and not only did they do playback with some screaming live (Fake Love), but they looked scared, insecure and without video and things in the background their choreography and dancing look very bad.

BTS starting with 2019 has no connection to what they were until 2018.
So my disappointment, hoping for more music like the one I’ve listen to, was quite abrupt.
Yes, wings album, Yoongi’s first solo-cd (in fact I was looking for listening to his second cd, what he released last year), many many other songs, to which I listen up until today.
Tear for example is a song that I like, boyz with fun, Pied Piper (though if I'd listen to the songs in a language that I understand, I'd run away from it, because they are bad).

BTS hasn't released much since 2018 worth listening to, in fact I cannot name one song that I liked since then. Maybe Black Swan a bit, but the production is too american-standard.

The very first thing that I've seen with Taehyung was "oh happy day" and I was mesmerized by his voice, one doesn't find very often a voice like he used to have. And Asians simply don't have the gene for music. Even more was he an exception, imagine an Asian guy singing the way he sings with his voice and so young.
I want to point out to the fact that I was purely professional impressed, because not only was he ugly in that mid-post-pubertarian time, but I thought him to be around 12 or so, and since I am not a p***phile, at almost 25 my age back then, I had no reaction in that sense.
Everything else that I've seen with him from a bit later was captivating and I was hoping for more and a big career for him, he also had a charismatic and genuine presence, he seemed to be of a special kind. From his personality the thing that I liked the most was that even though he was put in weird situations, like those slapping butts, etc, I had the feeling he has no idea of what he is doing and it was kind of sad to see someone with his personality and qualities, who, at the same time seems to be pure, doing what he was doing.

I had no idea when I watched his videos, that it is the same guy from BTS (I was more concentrated on the music and the titles were soooooo long, with soooo many names, couldn't figure out who that is). I didn't recognize him in DNA, Fake Love, etc.
Everything about him was gone. From the captivating personality and face/eyes - by that I mean how the eyes are telling you much about someone - he now had the same boring stare in all the videos I've seen, was trying to come off as "cool" and his voice was unrecognizable.
It was then when I realized that the videos I've seen with him were older and that's actually the same guy only a few years older than what I've seen.
The older videos never gave me a gay vibe, on the contrary, now imagine my reaction when the first video I've seen of BTS on stage was the one where he goes behind Jungkook's back, hugging him, closing his eyes, smelling his back and kissing.

From then on, I hoped everytime to see an improvement, but things got only worse. The half naked selfies, the disappearance of his voice, not because he suffered an accident, but because he's lazy, the fact that he seem to have more in his brain when he was younger than now...
yes. you are right, my criticism comes from both disappointment as well as hope that both him and Yoongi would change something for the sake of their qualities, but I should know better than hoping from someone who is 25 to materialize his potential. You do that no later than the age of 12, what I believed Taehyung to be in the first video.
Whenever I see Bang using him, which happens constantly, I say to myself - you idiot, screw the monster, sue him, take your money and do something with the qualities you were given.
But if that's what he developed into, from who he appeared to be in his younger years, than...maybe that's how things had to be.

It's also sad to see Yoongi. It's like nothing is there from what he was anymore. Whatever he's doing, is just bad, singing odes to Bang, drinking, even believing the hype made by his fans of him being the "best rapper Korea's".

I liked BTS from the beginning, the music they were doing, not dancing, except Jimin and Jungkook. I thought Taehyung to be one of a kind from any perspective, Jungkook to maybe develop into something more than just lead-singer in a band and Yoongi to be...DAMN. It was good.

To end with the sentence that I've wrote in the beginning, I wouldn't be watching them if it wouldn't be for Taehyung and Yoongi, because not only is BTS no longer what they were a few years ago, doing music and rap that I liked, but because of them other bands now aren't promoted anymore, due to them the pushing of homosexuality has become priority and instead of seeing EXO's and Kai's half naked body of which I have even stored pictures in my computer, I get to see all sorts of weird, fragile, feminine looking guys, trying to sing/scream higher than me and BTS' members looking weirder and weirder. Except Jin and Namjoon.

This disappointed happens often in music. When you like someone's music or playing and they're ruing it.
It's okay. It just seemed to me like you misunderstood my question. I found it to be a creepy coincidence how similar the Beatles and BTS look. But you're probably right, it's highly unlikely that Bang planned that. Especially since it would've been hard to tell that BTS would be so popular in America. But if you consider how much references there are in their music videos, of song names and release dates, as if someone planned BTS's whole career years before, it gives me chills.

I agree with what you're saying about the interview. I think there's a lot of truth in what B-free said, which is probably why it stung Yoongi so much. (I remember Army speculating that Yoongi was roasting Bfree in Cypher:Killer. If that's true, he must've seriously struck a nerve):
My flow job catches all the noname rappers
who think they’re all that and cajoles them
You can try to get to me with those little words
but I’ll just become stronger, it’s a wonder
I’m a starfish that eats and grows on your jealousy and envy

As you know, my voice will turn you on
Whether it’s a guy or girl,
my tongue will make you come
On this food chain,
I’m always on the top of the top
My craziness won’t stop
Even if someone betrays me from behind
When you all are playing, we’re heading toward the world
All you older hyungs who are getting older by the day
In my standards, you all are like babies
Whether you call me wack or fake
Whatever it is, I’m a new standard to kpop

This rap will cut through your ears
A slap to your ears like a storm,
chop chop chop

I think one of the most interesting things about that interview, is that it happened half a year after BTS debuted. Yeah, they knew they were now "idols", but they were still very hiphop-ish, compared to the mess they have become now. They probably had no idea what BTS would become 3 years later.
And yeah, it's so interesting how Yoongi even then was trying to hammer how hard it was for him as an underground rapper. How stupid was that to say that to other underground rappers who are far too familiar with that reality? What did he expect? The fact that it was hard for him, as it is for any underground rapper, and then he says he doesn't understand why B-free said "temptation" was just such a fascinating moment for me.
And like you've said, music isn't something you do for money. No sane artist puts all of their eggs in one basket.
But I'm not surprised that Yoongi was so defensive. Imagine being roasted like that by real rappers infront of your fans. It must've been mortifying.

I agree with what you're saying about Yoongi's music probably not being that good. I remember reading an interview where Yoongi said that back then he was very arrogant and thought his beats were the best, and that he wouldn't take critisism. So who knows if Yoongi would've succeeded if he hadn't joined BTS. I think he has a spark of talent both when it comes to writing beats and lyrics, and at the same time it's hard to judge, because how much of that is 100% his own effort and not the help of company producers?
I obviously dont know what it is, but I have a strong feeling that Yoongi didn't leave because if he did, and he failed, that would've destroyed his illusion of what a "genius" he is when he isn't a part of BTS. Until he actually tries to stand on his own two feet and learn to walk, I don't think he'll ever mature as an artist. Sadly, it seems like it's the last thing he'd wanna do.
Maybe that's why Yoongi keeps repeating the story of how hard it was for him, starving, barely making any money, maybe he's telling that story not for the fans, but for himself? To remind himself that if it weren't for BTS, his life might've been much more difficult?

By the way, why did you say Beyoncé/Billie Eilish arent singers? I'm kind of confused, especially about Beyoncé. Is she actually not that good? I mean, she's a huge name, I thought she's considered a high-class singer.

I understand a lot of what you're feeling. I also feel very disappointed about them. Interestingly, I think I would also say that if it weren't for Yoongi and Tae (and maybe also Kook) I dont think I would care much for the group.
I was also looking forward to Yoongi's 2nd mixtape. Even though I've completely lost interesting in BTS music at that point.
Oh yeah, I totally agree about Tae's voice back then. It was so memorable and unique. I'm quite baffled as to what happened. I know you've said before that it seems he doesn't practice enough, but to me it seems like there's more to it. Do you think it's possible for him, with enough training, to get that old voice back? Or has he ruined it forever?
I used to think that because Jimins voice seems to be so popular, that maybe Tae is trying to mimic him and make his voice similar to him, but I'm not sure.

BTS hasn't released much since 2018 worth listening to, in fact I cannot name one song that I liked since then. Maybe Black Swan a bit, but the production is too american-standard.
I can't stand Black Swan. The obnoxious snare drum and the overbearing 808s drive me insane. And those stupid "Do your thang, What's my thang", seriously, who thought that was good writing?
BUT, someone made such a pretty version out of that song, I didn't think it could be possible.
