All those people crying about FREEDOM OF SPEECH

Were nowhere to be found when Trump attacked freedom of Speech, assaulting peaceful protesters this summer, essentially declaring open war on protests. The police state clamped down hard on peaceful protesters, shooting them with rubber bullets, tear gas, having unmarked police grabbing people off the streets.

That was a real attack on FREEDOM OF SPEECH. The GOVERNMENT assaulting your right to protest, essentially criminalizing it.

Where were the free speech warriors ?

Oh right they cheered on the Police state.

Now they are crying because Trump incited a riot and violence with deadly consequences, and got kicked off a private platform for BREAKING TERMS OF SERVICE OF THAT PRIVATE COMPANY.

Trump is not getting "censored" That is a lie. He's getting kicked off for breaking TOS (Terms of Service)

You all need to stop acting like victims and take responsiblity for your actions. You cannot incite violence and hatred on these platforms, that is just the bottom line. You sign the terms of service when you open up your account. If you don't like it you shouldn't have pressed the I AGREE option, and you wouldn't have been allowed on in the first place.

Another false narrative is that people who are a "threat" to the elites are being censored. Yeah maybe a few of them, but the vast majority of people getting kicked off these platforms do not threaten to expose anything.

This is all culture war provocation. They are trying to make right wingers ANGRY. If you haven't figured it out yet, they've been trying to make right wingers ANGRY for a long time, so that you can resort TO VIOLENCE. That is the end goal. You are all being emotionally manipulated.

None of you truly care about freedom of speech by the way. Only when its politically convenient you use it as a shield.

Participate in the thread by actually offering something on the subject matter or leave. You are the one trying to challenge people personally here inviting them into the mud pit while taking the thread off subject. You are also making sweeping blanket statements trying to get people to respond to things off subject. That leads to the petty back and forth you love so much which hampers discussion. Almost everyone here has to some degree buried differences during this crazy time except you. Get with the program.

With all due respect you may not like how vancity says it and you may not like being reminded of it but some of the same people here crying about free speech most definitely supported and cheered for the crack down on free leftist speech we saw earlier this year and were definitely supportive of private companies having these loopholes in the past when they were directed towards denying service to people they don’t like. It’s hard not to bring it up when the double standard is that blatant. I mentioned before many of you will actively advocate for having people banned on this site. Where’s the free speech there? What’s the difference? You just insinuated that again - which would be depriving vancity of his free speech because you don’t like him or what he has to say and you’d seemingly be aok with that.

Y'know, if you took a moment and actually WATCHED and/or LISTENED to the videos that @The Zone has posted, you might realize that this is more than a national issue. The video does include other countries besides the US that are affected or will ban social media platforms.

Not everything is about the US of A.

I'm against government censorship and REAL suppression of free speech.

If you can prove that people get kicked off social media platforms without breaking the TOS, then I would agree with you.

YOu cannot incite violence and hatred on a private platform with TOS. Period. It's not a conspiracy.

I like some of the alternative social networks. However, I can tell that none of them are bringing anything different. They might talk a better game and use the right buzz words, but they are just as hollow as Zuckerberg, or Dorsey, or whoever the fuck is in charge of Google and Apple today.

Don't get me wrong; I think that most people mean well. When I said hollow, I mean powerless or lacking the will to follow through on what needs to be done. Look, I'm sorry, but you have to force people to grow up at some point. Because not doing so is the greater disservice.
