I think it's good etiquette to cover up when breastfeeding. It's the common thing in here in the US to do so. I don't personally feel like it's a major deal to do it in public, but if you do do it in public, have a bit of decorum. I think manners are about having consideration for others.

Instead of expecting society to conform to them, they should conform to the social norms. It's just another example of the selfish "Look at me!" syndrome. They know they cause others around them discomfort, distress, or embarrassment (esp. if people are with children or older generation adults), but they don't care. They have to go over the top and go viral, because somehow that matters.

As a woman, I really don't want to see anyone's naked boobs, just as I don't want to see anyone's butt crack, genitals, or any other body part considered private because... it's private. It's 100% possible, and appropriate in the U.S., to cover up while breastfeeding.
Breastfeeding in public is legal if I remember correctly.

Do you have to look at them while they're doing it? Can't you just avert your eyes?

I completely agree with you. It's beyond sad. For some people, seeing naked boobs displayed in public is also disturbing and sad for them to see how far our society has fallen from the times when people cared about others and would not dream of causing others discomfort or embarassement.
In the not too distant past, nobody would have been bothered by breastfeeding.

Oh I totally get it. But who are these people? Folks who grew up in doo wop days or maybe they’re the same people who fight to gets words banned and holiday song lyrics changed because they find it offensive. In this case we need to coddle and protect everyone from the embarrassment of human nature. Society has fallen...lol. The problem is people care TOO much about the wrong things.

I personally would look away if I saw a woman’s boob out; first instinct.. BUT, I also see what’s actually going on in this maternal act so I don’t think twice really, and I’m wondering, when did we get such a stick up our ass to actually complain about something like this?

breasts are for feeding babies, that is the whole point of them. its only because they have become sexualised in modern hisotry, no one would care if it wasnt for the sexualisation of breasts.

america is a weird country, they sexualise women to the point women are their to sell products, yet when the body is used for its natural reasons, people become insecure and uncomfortable, everyone has nipples, its just womens nipples feed humans
