Commenting on the federal response to this crisis at a time when the federal response is incredibly important isn’t about politics for the sake of politics. It’s about how politics is being used and the lives that it is impacting and how.

I’m well aware the federal government is not solely comprised of trump. I have heard him call for bigger checks for Americans, numerous checks f Yor Americans, various things that have not materialized because of the OTHER people in the government behind the scenes. I get that. I also get that the man has a massive ego and parts of this crisis are playing on his natural BUSINESS impulses which are different then the way you need to manage a country through a crisis.

If you think access to critical supplies is not being weaponized right now - and if you have some need to hang on to that notion for some reason - then I’m not the one making this unnecessarily political. You are.

If this was across the board partial fulfillment I’d not even think twice about it. This is a crisis, things are expected to be chaotic and need is expected to be greater then supply. Even if it was only Maine that received so little while Florida received its request.. I’d say “ok well Maine has low need right now and Florida has a way bigger problem so that’s fine”

But Massachusetts and Michigan are in just as great if not greater need then Florida atm. So that’s problematic. What is the actual difference between Massachusetts and Michigan be Florida. That’s the question.

Trump owns many businesses and a home in Florida, it’s his state of residence, they vote republican more often, they have a republican governor, he’s friendly with the republican governor.. there’s a whole list of options you can choose from unfortunately none of those options are actually valid reasons for the discrepancy. If you look at Florida vs Maine they are, but not for Florida vs Massachusetts. The refusal to release a full accounting of request vs dispersal also does not sound promisisng to me.

If I need a recorded statement from trump or his ilk saying “we aren’t sending stuff to democrat leaning states because we don’t like them” - well, then.. that will never happen will it? That doesn’t mean that this isn’t what’s happening.

I’d actually even be less worried about the entire situation had the governors not been instructed to secure their own supplies only to be outbidded by the federal government..

Had that not happened - had the federal government not outbid states after telling them to buy them - if say ok well the feds are providing the supplies to the poorer states that can’t secure their own.

I’m not trying to be unreasonable here. Not at all. I wish I could sit here and say despite my dislike for him he’s doing a great job and I trust him right now. I’m saying that for cuomo - who had numerous policy decisions I find deplorable and have never uttered a word of support for before in my life. But shit like this makes me very nervous.. and I fear we are falling into a very dangerous place right now across the board. Sport, not sorry for the opinion.

Sometimes there's a cough and cold and phlegms feels like it stuck on my throat. It gets me worried because both my parents have several complications. I also used to have asthma in my teenage years. Can't do nothing else but boost my immune system.

Likewise, if the electricity ever goes off I've got torches and spare batteries, plus two wind-up torches which don't need batts.
I've also got a radio and a wind-up radio to stay in touch with the world.
i shall also make sure I don't boast about it all to neighbours in case they come knocking my door to beg off me if things get really bad, although i'd be happy to let Vixy in anytime..

As for bread, that don't last long either, you get hideous green patches of mould on it but we can live without it, how about it JC?-

I don’t think it’s deliberate. I don’t think there are enough people in the decision-making and execution process that would go along with something that could have such monstrous implications.

At least you guys have supplies to distribute. Our leader sent a bunch of ours to China not long ago. To China. We are in much more trouble in Canada than you are in America, and our leader has been hiding at home for two weeks. Oh, and a 50% hike in the carbon tax kicks in on April 1. That means that the price of anything that comes in by truck or train, so everything, is going up. Right now. Say what you want about Trump, but at least he’s not raising your taxes this week.
