Romans 1

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

This whole passage here is another display of Paul's Gnosticism, it's beautiful. There are a lot of great quotable passages from Paul such as that :D

I love the ending passage of Romans 1:

"And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them."

Really? cause I read that passage as people who deify Jesus (turning YHWH into a man-idol)
I guess you don't read it the same way as we do, after all you are a staunch defender of that church (from what I see lately here in this forum).

Sure.

after all you are a staunch defender of that church (from what I see lately here in this forum).
That's not true but even if it was, it'd just make you (and your peers) staunch attackers of Christianity, which just amounts to:

"I hate the Church"
"Yeah, well I love it"
"Well, I hate it"
"Sure but I love it"

or:

"I'm a Protestant and I hate the Catholic church"
"Well I'm a Catholic and I hold no hard feelings towards you Protestants but could you be any less aggressive?"
"You worship satan and I worship Jesus"
"No, we do worship Jesus, it's right there in our creed if you want to read it"
"Well, we read the Bible but you don't, you follow man made traditions"
"Incorrect, we read the Bible too. As for traditions, your tradition(s) were made my men. Jesus didn't form Protestantism"
etc.

The irony being that I'm not the staunch one, nor do I attack or defend anything (yet here I have to explain myself to you LOL), I'm just exposing hypocrisy. My demeanor is more relaxed because I don't have an antagonistic worldview, I am paradoxically both content with my Faith and a rational skeptic. I don't make the claims of Protestant Christianity, so I do not have such absurd contradictions to bite my tongue ignoring while pretending to be certain about my beliefs.

You think in terms of football teams but I don't, that passage applies to a lot of people from a lot of different religions (including possibly even Paul himself).

Well, I really thought you are one of those people who support and took the inter-faith pact too seriously lol

Never even heard of it.
A lot of Catholics don't like Pope Francis, if you didn't realize. It's not like he's an uncriticizable figure.

As for that link, I don't see the point of it. We shouldn't be at each other's throats over beliefs, I don't see the reason for a petition. Inter-faith just means discourse between religions, what's bad about that? (well, unless you are defacto antagonistic towards all other religions, lol)

It is a religion of satan of course
Whilst there is the occasional charity organization. I sadly do not see much else than this kind of bubble-wrapped angry statement coming out of the mouths/hearts/minds/writing of most Christians (especially Protestants).
Was not "love your enemies" one of Jesus' teachings?

What I'd love, is to meet a Christian who reads the sermon on the mount (Matthew 5-7) three times a day, once at morning, one at mid-day, one at night. That's a person who I'd like to hang around and share spiritual bonding with. God would bless that person so much.
Same with the guy who sells all his possessions, the person who is so devoted to God and to giving, that he will put his life on the line for the good-will and benefit of others. That is the kind of Christian that I love. The kind of Christian that inspires me, the kind that reflects on the words of Jesus with all their soul and practices what they preach.
I thought I'd just let you know that I love genuine Christianity.

I see very little Jesus, very little even God, very little wisdom, very little honesty from a big lot of you Protestants. Just being here for the past few months has itself changed a lot of my views amazingly, although your not the first or last Protestants I've ever discoursed with. I've been threatened with hellfire and told that I am deceived for asking questions before, I do know the round with you guys. It's not like you're breaking the mold or giving new insights into the Protestant psychology but I do find myself asking more and more questions about the nature of belief here, because this place seems to demand it from me.

What your quoted post above displays is the kind of far-right political rhetoric these days of Evangelical Protestants. The assumption of such a statement, is that you think that you yourself are not following the religion of Satan. Which is a big presumption without deep spiritual reflection.

If such a person exists, they would surely be called fallen, an apostate and a reprobate by the Christians on this forum ;)

But it seems you are not telling the truth since you have been staunchly defending the church in rome.
And you've (and your peers) been opposed to it, attacking it and calling it all kinds of aggressive things.
Hence this: https://vigilantcitizenforums.com/threads/“they-are-without-excuse-”.6591/post-244498

Besides, calling you guys out for your hypocrisy, circular reasoning and double-standards are hardly "defending" that (far more authoritative, intellectual and authentic) form of Christianity.
