How about beer and other food with barley and rye, do you get similar reaction?
I avoid all those, too. Not really a drinker. Wine or mixed drinks would be my choice, yet too much sugar there.

yes, beer has barley in it so it is bad for people with gluten intolerance or celiac disease...I occasionally drink before, and I have noticed that I get intense body/joints pain whenever I drink beer...so now I avoid drinking beer, actually I now avoid drinking all types liquor :)

I should have wrote this post first.

It sounds like you may have candida albicans or yeast overgrowth in the gut. Candida is the bad bacteria in your gut, it is meant to be there, just not in large numbers. Over use of anti-biotics, poor diet, excessive coffee consumption and/or alcohol and certain medications can kill off good bacteria. Candida feeds off sugar and simple carbs. Bread contains yeast and causes a bad reaction to those with yeast overgrowth. Similar to GI but not as bad.

Many people have gone on strict diets such as the keto diets to kill the bacteria. They feel better for a while but have not resolved the problem. Like I said in my previous post, checking for heavy metals(using hair analysis) is the place to start. In my own personal experience once I rid my body of excessive copper, my candida problem went away on its own. My digestion and blood pressure went back to normal and my allergies and aches and pains gradually also went away. Hope this helps.
Hey bro, I think you are right about the yeast overgrowth.

Few weeks back I had colds and sore throat and I felt at that time I was going to have a flu so I took rest from work and took flu medicine for prevention (I never had fever), the next day I felt a little better but I noticed that I have sore on my tongue and my throat still itchy which I just ignored for the next few weeks, and so after 2 weeks the sore on my tongue and throat seemed to have worsen and giving me much discomfort, so I decided to go to the doctor for a check up. The doctor told me that I have fungal infection on my tongue and throat and he prescribed for me an antiseptic mouth wash and an anti-fungal (miconazole) oral gel which I have to ingest (eat) twice a day, and then tablets for allergy and Vitamin B complex (with Zinc) every night.

What really fascinated me is that after I took those medicines the itchy rashes on my scalp and in my chest were gone (along with sore tongue and throat) the next day and the feeling of tiredness is now considerably less, implying that those symptoms were likely caused by fungal infection (most probably yeast overgrowth in the gut?).

Now I will observe in the coming days if all of those symptoms (which I thought from gluten intolerance) are gone for good or will come back after the medication is finished. I still notice having after effect joint pains whenever I eat bread or cookies, so aside from the yeast overgrowth I may still have gluten intolerance? Or perhaps these two are one and the same???

Around 9 years ago during my 30s, I started feeling frequent headaches, body pains, fatigue and skin rashes, at first I was concerned about the rashes because it is all over my chest, my back, my elbows & knees and my scalp, and the itchiness (on my chest) really annoyed me. I went to dermatologists so many times and they always give me ointments, lotions, soaps, etc. and told me that there is really nothing serious, so after going back and forth to the dermatologist rashes still did not go away and so I was just got used it. And then after some time, the frequent body pains and feeling tired with no apparent reason has become very noticeable, I started to feel paranoid thinking I may have a very serious illness, so I went to the doctor for consultation, the doctor sent me to several lab tests and examinations (MRI, ECG, blood tests, urine & tool tests, etc.) and after all the test and examinations, the doctor told me everything is fine except for elevated blood pressure and a little bit high blood sugar (but still normal), his diagnosis was that I may have fibromyalgia and vaguely mentioned about gluten intolerance (which i totally ignored) and gave me prescriptions for fibromyalgia and hypertension, and for my body pains he sent me to physical therapy. After that I felt a little bit better for some time, but then all symptoms came back again and so I was going back and forth to the doctor and have all the tests and examinations done every 6 months for several years with the same tests results. Well, I was really glad that the test results were always fine but I still feel the pain and discomfort and hopelessly wondering what the hell is wrong with my body. Then one of my friends told about his health condition that he has gluten intolerance and told me about the symptoms and explained to me the causes (i.e. allergic reaction to ingestion if wheat, barley and rye) his symptoms are similar with mine except for stomach/bowel discomforts and so I got interested and researched it online. I was surprised to know that this condition has been observed long time ago (probably during the 50s) and was just not totally understood, it is some kind of autoimmune disease (from genetic origin) triggered by in reaction to ingestion of gluten (i.e. wheat, barley and rye), I really like to eat bread (who doesnt anyway) so it was really shocking revelation to me. And so after so much research, I finally came to the conclusion that I have gluten intolerance.

My current diet is bread (always)/egg/meat/vege in breakfast, rice and meat/vege/fruit in lunch and dinner. Right now, I cannot avoid eating bread (no other choice) due to my current job location and condition, so I have to bear with all the discomforts associated with gluten intolerance.

According to most recent information, there is no current cure for gluten intolerance or celiac disease (more serious form), affected ones need to totally avoid gluten (wheat, barley and rye) ingestion, which means no bread/cookies, no beer or no any food/beverages with gluten ingredients.

Please do share you personal experiences (if you have) and any helpful info/tips regarding gluten intolerance and celiac disease.
I self diagnosed gluten intolerance about a year ago. After doing some research I found out that the exact term for it is "gluten ataxia". Gluten doesn't affect my digestive system, but rather my brain. Within a week with gluten free diet, my issues with depression and negative thoughts disappeared. Then I realized had no more trouble coordinating my speech(tongue and lips movement) and I became extremely fluid at logical reasoning. After a year of GF diet I am extremely sensitive to the tiniest amounts of gluten found in processed food. I got tested 4 months to make sure I don't have celiac disease and I had to eat gluten again for 2 weeks. It was horrifying, I became depressive and negative again, I was constantly tired I had headaches all the time and I could barely grab and keep objects in my hands because the part of my brain that controls my movements was literally delayed. I had trouble maintaining focus and couldn't reason logically, let alone reason at all.

Despite me being extremely rigorous during my self diagnosis, the doctors didn't take the neurological symptoms seriously(some of them laughed at me) and just told me to keep up with the gluten free diet if it makes me feel better. I wanted to do a MRI scan to check if my brain had irreversible damage but since the medical community doesn't recognize the effects of gluten on certain people's brain, I couldn't get any appointment for a more thorough analysis of my brain.

Was it thrush? The mouth infection, I mean? My mom used to get that a lot, because of aggravation with thyroid cancer, I think. Glad the treatment helped you feel so much better.

You are welcome. My health issue took a long time to figure out because like you, my tests were all normal as well. The internet was just new at this time and information was scare. I fought with several doctors because they tried to tell me its all in my head and wanted me on anti-depressants. No Thanks. I found and read the book - Why Am I always so tired (copper overload) by Ann Louise Gittleman - and that sealed the deal that I was on the right track.

Many doctors still don't acknowledge candida as a health issue after all this time.. Even more don't believe hair analysis has any value. This is because they are trained to manage symptoms. While naturopathes deal with getting to the root cause of illness. My copper excess came from my vegetarian soy based diet, copper pipes in my home (lots of green rings around the sinks) and chronic work stress. The perfect storm.
Anyways, I wish you success in your journey to good health.
How interesting!

I myself suffer from copper excess that have lead to an autoimmune disease and I am sick to the point of bedridden and on disability. I had a hairmineral analysis test done so I know my body is very clean, below the normal levels of heavy metals, except when it comes to copper. My copper was HIGH.

I have an autoimmune disease and I saw that gluten intolerance leads to autoimmune diseases so stopped eating gluten and two weeks later my blood levels were normal. The doctor wonder what I had done since he couldnt explain it. The medication I was on to correct the levels "usually takes years to get them down" he said.

I did an experiment and had some gluten and the levels went right back up to unstable.

Now the gluten intolerance, I bet is due the the copper but I've tried detoxes and special diets, nothing helps and reading here: www.coppertoxic.com it takes years and is a long, complicated and very HARD treatment that also makes you sicker before you get better so my take is that I'll always be sick.

There is no hope. Right?

Wth..? I have that! At times it's exactly as you say; the tongue doesnt follow so it sounds like I slur. Thats gluten too? I had no idea. It's like when you've been out in really cold wheather and your lips are too cold to obey.

i cut out wheat from my diet years ago. never felt better.

i had thought it was a gluten thing for me until i read that they spray glyphosphate on the wheat just prior to harvesting. this gives a 16% (or so) increase in volume to the harvest. this is because as the plant begins to die, it sends all of its energy and nutrients to the seed head. glyphosphate is often the cause the problem. im not saying its yours, but it might be.

in addition to what lurker said, you could try sprouted flour products. they digest as a vegetable.

youve got to cut out the bread. its absolutely doable. it will be initially hard for you to find an alternative, but you will. theres no reason to suffer.
no one should be eating bread on a daily basis, especially white bread. its worse than white sugar, and the flour is often brominated in the process-- bromine is even worse than being fluoridated.
Glyphosphate? That's what they fucking put in Round up, man! And people eat this.. Normally what is in almost everything so its a constant intake of poison.

Sry for typing so much but this:

11. Autoimmune Disorders
Celiac disease is an autoimmune disease that causes your immune system to attack your digestive tract after you consume gluten (59Trusted Source).

Interestingly, having this autoimmune disease makes you more prone to other autoimmune diseases, such as autoimmune thyroid disease (60Trusted Source, 61Trusted Source).

Furthermore, autoimmune thyroid disorders may be a risk factor for developing emotional and depressive disorders (62Trusted Source, 63Trusted Source, 64Trusted Source).

This also makes celiac disease more common in people that have other autoimmune diseases, such as type 1 diabetes, autoimmune liver diseases and inflammatory bowel disease (61Trusted Source).

This is whats happened to me.

When dealing with yeast overgrowth, I would stay away from baked goods containing yeast as they will have a negative affect on your body. I do not believe gluten intolerance is the same as YO. Candida yeast live in your gut and are scavengers and eat the food you eat. This causes a lot of digestive issues such as poor digestion, gas, bloating and all sorts of reactions to foods. I would look at a Candida diet.

In my own experience B complex was not good until I got the yeast under control as certain B Vitamins make your symptoms worse.

The key to all of this was heavy metals particularly copper. Heavy Metals don't cause the problem as far as I know, but until they are lowered or elimanated my yeast overgrowth persisted.

It took me a couple years to rid the copper from my system. I tried chelation therapy using binding agents in a IV but its expensive (or was when I tried it). I took option B the longer road. I was on a high zinc/low copper diet and took zinc suppliments to pull the copper out. It was an emotional time as copper is released. This is called copper dumps. I suggest you check out the book Why Am I Always So Tired : Discover How Correcting Your Body's Copper Imbalance Can * Keep Your Body From Giving Out Before Your Mind Does by Ann Louise Gittleman. This book really helped. My digestive issues and yeast problems went away however my thyroid was affected and never returned quite to normal.

Yeah that sounds like what I've heard. I've read about the dump aswell, supposed to be horrible. This is why I think I'll never get better, I cant rid it.

Zinc needs to be taken with food. I would suggest you seek out a Naturopathic doctor who understands heavy metals.

Yeah, I did that but it costs $300 an hour and I'll need her for 2-3 years on a regular basis so I just couldnt afford it.

So these supplements are what are recommended for a copper dump. Great, my docs have told me I cant take anymore supplemetns bc my liver levels were raised last time. It was too much strain for the liver which also interestingly enough, is where the copper is gathered within a calcium shell.
