I don’t really care where she was born or how her career started but like I said she moved to Nashville as a kid because she wanted to be a country singer. She was obviously influenced by southern culture.

For a formerly "country" artist, she is putting out a very hateful stereotype with her hick/hillbilly portrayal of anti-LGBQT protesters. As someone who grew up in Appalachia, I can't tell you the number of times I've been subjected to ridicule because people outside the area think we are all like this. The incest jokes, banjo music references, dumb redneck comments, missing teeth comments, one leg shorter than the other jokes. It gets old pretty quickly. When I went to a summer program for gifted kids in high school, my roommate from the suburbs of DC actually asked me if I had indoor plumbing in my house. Good grief! I had cable and MTV for heaven's sake. We weren't that backwards. But, she thought we all had outhouses. And my first day of college, I was told by someone that they had never met a smart person with a southern accent before. So, yeah, this video ticks me off.

The dumb redneck stereotype is one of a handful of acceptable negative stereotypes in 2019, along with evil Russian, evil Arab, p***phile priest, etc. Really, I think a large point of why it persists is your cousins that migrated north. Most actual southern people I've met have been pretty cool people. Most southern-roots people I've met who now live in the north fall into a lot of the negative stereotypes; flying confederate flags, frequently dropping racial slurs, acting generally homophonic as hell.

Taylor Swift can kiss my Boston grits, she's a sold out heathen like the rest of them. She probably had respectable talent at one time when she was like 12 and now just like the rest. Lord knows what she had to do to stay relevant, since anyone can step in, look cute and make pop music.

Maybe, maybe not. Things don’t really add up on her end and when you cry bully over and over, a logical person would start to look at the victim a little closer.

The song is:
1. Such a blatant rip-off of Lordes tracks that a lawsuit could be launched.
2. A blatant attempt at wave-riding which has resulted in a Jump The Shark moment. A more egregious version of Mclemore, but its desperation shows us where Miss Swift feels her career is at and what its worth.
3. Horrible as an actual song. The afore mentioned, uninspired theft of the tracks music..... the lyrics which dont actually rhyme.
4 The lyrics actually encourage violence and the stifling of others views and creativity...... While simultaneously demanding others safety and freedom of expression be respected.
5. Complains about people "comparing girls on the internet" while simultaneously demanding that the pubic pay attention to her opinion that "We (the other females whom she mentions are "killin it on the internet") all got crowns"........

"Hey, stop paying attention to me while I try to make this mainstream media push in support a controversial agenda..... Im only on TV, the radio, the internet & tweeting about this while I perform at "Pride Month" events, promoting my latest agenda-pushing single........ cant you all just leave me alone!"

I also can’t stand the purity tests regarding the lgbt.... questioning, curious whatever. It’s the new religious test in all aspects of society. You answer wrong or don’t actively promote it, you are on the outs....

There’s nothing edgy or even sincere about Swift here... she’s just falling in line for the good of her career.

She’s just another one off the list as far as I’m concerned.
