How would you explain this story to someone from 1980?

Snoop Dogg threatens to boycott Facebook for banning Louis Farrakhan
Snoop Dogg raged against Facebook for banning his “dear brother” Louis Farrakhanin an expletive-filled rant in which he also threatened to boycott the site.
The livid “Gin and Juice” rapper went off in a pair of videos posted Thursday on Instagram.
“Facebook and Instagram just banned the minister Louis Farrkahn. I want to know for what,” Snoop said. “All he ever do was tell the truth. What if we ban y’all? What if we start f–ing with y’all, Facebook and Instagram?
“I stand with him. Ban me motherf–er! Ban me! Because I’m gonna keep posting this s–t … F–k y’all who got a problem with him.”
Farrakhan is among several extremist figures, including Infowars host Alex Jones and political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos, who have been deemed “dangerous” by Facebook and permanently banned from the site.
In response, Snoop urged his 31 million followers to post videos of the controversial black nationalist, who has espoused anti-Semitic views before.
“If you down wit’ it like I’m down wit’ it, post your favorite Minister Farrakhan video on your Instagram and Facebook page,” Snoop said in another video. “Can’t ban all of us!”

Have you been to Washington D.C. lately? Talk about weed everywhere. With it being legal for recreational use the whole place is a contact buzz. Even the Uber rides smell like weed and pretty much every lower end type employee are all working stoned. No wonder nothing gets done in D.C. these days.

I know Farrakhan calls white people ice people and evil, but I believe in free speech and if people want to buy into his schtick, so be it. But I also believe others banned on the right deserve the same soapbox where people can choose to watch/hear it or not.

So, did Snoop tip you in his stash for the catering?

throwing in farrakhan is a lame ruse by facebook to publicly show that they do not single out the conservatives. i totally support farrakhan and every leftys right to free speech. his banning is as outrageous as anyone else who has been banned because of a difference of opinion.

social media has already wiped out the hard core truthers and is finishing up with the rightists. then the leftists will be removed until the platform is purely government propaganda which cannot be criticized.
everyone, and i mean everyone shouldve rioted over alex jones` banishment so we couldve nipped this problem right in the bud.

Lol Farrakhan isn’t a leftist. Remember that time he met with literal Nazis discussing how to carve up the nation into racial enclaves? He murdered Malcolm X btw.

Again, social media companies are not subject to the 1st amendment nor is any country. The real problem is tech monopolies and the only people with ideas to break them up come from the left. Nazis run rampant on Twitter and leftists get banned all the time.

as soon as these social media companies start censoring anyone (farrakhan, alex jones, mickey mouse), they become publishers and are responsible for everything that is written. they no longer are a free speech public platform.

but... they are receiving government funding-- taxpayer dollars-- OUR money, so they are very much like a public company which we have a right to access.

either they allow all free speech and are immune to lawsuits, or they act as a publisher and can be sued for anything said on their media platform. social media cannot have it both ways.

No corporation should receive government funding however I disagree with your premise as they do have a right to have TOS.

I could argue that my free speech has been violated repeatedly here in my past bannings, but of course that wouldn’t be accurate.

I actually agree with you though that they shouldn’t ban these people, it feeds into their persecution delusion and forces them underground. I like the fashies openly discussing their plans so we can monitor and react accordingly.

sure, social media outlets have a right to a terms of service, but that cannot infringe upon ones rights if it is an open platform. our free speech rights should extend to the platform just as they would anywhere in the public domain.

if one does not like what a 'fashie' or a leftist has to say, either debate it or ignore it. simple as that. you dont like the opposition going 'underground'; i dont like the opposition being censored when i can prove them wrong openly-- without any help of censorship. further, stifling open, honest discussion and debate can only lead to violence in the long run, as tension rises.

i disagree with almost everything you say, but i support you 100% if your right to speak or write it is blocked. id hope for the same from you for my side.

And yet they won’t ban she who shall not be named... go figure.

I think this is stupid personally, none of them should have been banned. If a post blatantly violated terms of service, just delete it.

They let these same violating type posts go on for so long that they kinda backed themselves into a corner where doing something about it now just seems ridiculous. Why now and not five years ago? The content type hasn’t changed.

My friend seems to get banned on Facebook every other day. He just makes a new account.

I do know a little stream off the Mt. Evans road just outside of Denver that no one fishes
Why is that? Too far off beaten path? Polluted? Fish too small? Or do you simply mean that no one else knows about it? If that's the case, load up the cooler and gear, grab a few left-handed cigarettes and have a good day with an even better dinner.

Had to google that one. I would love to head somewhere to get some trout. I don't really care for the fresh-water fish in my area and the salt-water fishing really takes a toll on you. All that sun and salt. But to catch some nice snappers and groupers maybe even tuna.....worth it.

thats fine, as long as its far enough away from that disturbing airport.
Lol the only thing disturbing about the airport is how big it is-and the TSA pervs but that’s every airport.

Idk I’ve just never seen anyone else ever fish there, it’s kind of a steep walk down hill from the parking area and it’s s small stream so I guess most people just haven’t bothered, I’ve never came home with less than three though.

Yes, the provincial fish of Nova Scotia. Beautiful pink meat and I find they are harder to catch than rainbows but easier than browns.

I’ve always wanted to try some ocean fishing, looks like I’ll need to do it relatively soon if reports on saltwater fish populations are to be believed.

Like Jones or not, he gets under MSM's skin like no other - https://futurism.com/the-byte/facebook-deleted-infowars-account-new

The point we all tried to make was that Jones was one of the first people to go down to the new purge of sites which has taken a toll right before an election. I mean, just think about the change in landscape from the tech/new companies ranting baby complaints.
