I wanted to create a thread about this case for years, so now I have. Here's some info:

https://vigilantcitizen.com/vigilantreport/mysterious-case-elisa-lam

There are mysteries that are so eerie and strange that they boggle the mind for days on end. The case of Elisa Lam is one of them. In February 2013, this 21-year-old student from Vancouver, Canada, was found dead inside the Cecil Hotel’s rooftop water tank in Los Angeles. The L.A. County Department of Coroner ruled the death “accidental due to drowning” and said no traces of drugs or alcohol were found during the autopsy. However, there is much more to the story than what is implied by police reports. The first piece of evidence that needs to be considered is an elevator surveillance tape that recorded Elisa’s behavior only a few moments before she lost her life.
What do you think about it?

Personally I believe it is an unsolved murder case, hence the odd behaviour of the girl and the lift that didn't work, plus the fact that she was found in a place where she couldn't within reason get by herself.

But it remains a very odd case, where several things don't add up.

I personally think that this is a triggered demonic attack/possesion for a sacrifice. She seems to be okay when she entered the elevator not sedated or anything.

The most suspicious part is that the elevator door was not closing whatsoever. Clearly the elevator was being controlled remotely. I also think maybe there was someone talking to her outside of the elevator and she was trying to take a peek on who that person was.

I always wanted to know the mystery behind this case too but I guess we will never know for sure.

Oh man, this case is super creepy. I originally saw it on some cheesy youtube crime series a lil whiles back and out of all the different crime reporting I've seen this one stuck with me the most in recent times. I've seen it postulated that she could've gone in the tower when it wasn't full and passed out, but I don't buy it. I do hope something more comes out about this some day and it doesn't just turn into some urban myth. It's just way too terrible of a way for someone to perish and I don't want nothing but that to come out of this poor girl's death.

She was drugged and feeling that someone was pursuing her...when she enters, she push various buttons, trying to confuse her pursuer about the floor she pretend to leave, but the door was not closing and she thinks that someone is doing that so Elisa try to catch him/her by jumping ahead and snooping around the corners...but she was suffering some drug effects, so she tests her hands and make some movements like she´s not having response or feeling something strange about her body...so we have this part when the doors are not closing and Elisa at this point may be on alert that she´s not okay and will need help, she is probably trying to call someone and then left the elevator. We barely could see her shadow reflected on the elevator door, but then something strange happens, the video suffer a slightly cut and then we could not see her shadow anymore...and suffers another cut just to show the door closing....it makes me thing that somebody caught her at this point, and edited the video to eliminate the proof. Watch the video again and try to identify what I said...and look as she left her shadow moving by the elevator door and the cut...

That actually happened in Jan. 2014 or 2015, right? Time passes so quickly. Here on VC was the first place that I heard about this case, and like so many other people it seems, I just went straight to Google and YouTube about it.

The whole case presents a strong argument for demonology, but at the same time, Elisa Lam was Rx'd several very strong psychotropic meds. The bending of her arms was one of the strangest things I've seen on video, and I have seen Budd Dwyer's suicide on the internet. Also, while it was true she was in regular contact with her mother, still she was traveling alone AND posting her whereabouts on social media. NOT SAFE. I am not being mean here, or implying that she is somehow at fault for whatever horrible thing happened to her. I just feel the obvious danger of her doing this has never been underscored responsibly, so I am doing it now in a somewhat prissy manner.:rolleyes:

There was also the hotel's odd press-release response: "Elisa Lam died because she was bipolar." What the ?????

Also, I saw photos/read reports that there were two pieces of graffiti on the roof that were in her handwriting. I do not know of the validity of that, but I do not see those reports anymore on the web. Now what I find most disturbing of all is that the graffiti theory/information led me to something that freaked me out for weeks and left me even more disturbed than Elisa's murder itself!

It was theorized that Elisa was led to the roof and inexplicably ordered to write graffiti, take off her clothing, and finally commanded to jump into the water tower through an actual technology called V2K, or voice-to-skull technnology. Now, the idea that V2K was used on Elisa is merely a theory but the technology is real. V2K is a small weapon manufactured by the government whereby after ascertaining DNA from an individual (hair, blood, saliva, teeth, you get the idea) a person can speak into a microphone and transmit spoken messages to that person that they receive inside their head. The victim believes that these spoken messages are their actual thoughts. In my not-at-all-humble opinion, this is the marriage of technology and witchcraft. . When I researched this V2K, there was an insinuation that it is related to the phenomenon of supposedly mentally ill (but otherwise functioning) people who preoccupied with wearing metal on their head to protect them from micro-waves. Voice-2-Skull technology is a military weapon that has been in existence since the late 1970's

David Paulides's book A Sobering Coincidence has stuff about her death, the scene, and that hotel that I've never read about anywhere else. It's a weird case, but that book has a lot of really weird cases. Do you know how many people have been murdered and committed suicide in that hotel? It is unreal.

I do think it is really creepy too, and I do agree with the sentiment here that the location is a little suspicious too. Cicil Hotel has been the host of so many murders, why wouldn't this be a next one on the list? I am pretty sure there are plenty of killers out there who would get a kick of killing someone in there.

I really do hope they find the perpetrator too, but it seems that this is one of those cases where there's more interest for a cover up than a revelation of what really happened.

Yes I have read about that, it makes it even more unsetteling. It seems like there is some plot behind it.

Being curious about this case, I actually stayed in that hotel in downtown Los Angeles. It's now called "Stay on Main." It's intensely creepy in there. Nothing out of the ordinary happened during my stay. It was extremely cheap though.

Seriously? There is no way I would sleep in a hotel like that with such history. You are very brave sir.

I found this in the Elisa Lam Blog:
==================================================================
"Jan 24, 2013
Today I slept, took a long hot shower, stuffed myself silly with a $3 dinner. It has been most productive and enjoyable.
I seriously have done nothing in San Diego that is out of the my normal routine at home.
I DO WHAT I WANT
After all, I like my home comforts and every now and then I do something entirely impulsive and reckless like tell a guy I just met I like him…….
I do like people watching at the hostel.
Now that I’m rested and well, starting tomorrow I should venture outside more.
1. Seaworld
2. The Zoo
3. Museum because it’s free!!!!
4. Whale watching at Coronado/Point Loma ?"

"Jan 26, 2013
I’m going out tonight
I really hope no creeper comes near me
Seriously though
those Italian and Mexican guys go after you STRONG
Show the slightest inclination and they hound you"
==================================================================
She died at Jan 31....
So she told a guy she never met that she liked him and then there are creepers stalking her...

Now I will admit that I have not seen the video so my perception may be a little off, but it's because I refuse to see it so I won't get freaked out, lol

Yet, going by VC's description and everyone else's, this sounds like demonic influence. Maybe she was a victim of "wrong-place-wrong-time" and was trying to get away from something she's seen? If I remember correctly, the hotel she was in was connected with some shady events so I honestly wouldn't "not" consider this as an option.

No, seriously? This has got to be a joke. I have read some things and I have been kind of in "The Know" for a while now, but this seems a little far fetched. I'm shocked that I'm shocked by this revelation. Further research is needed on my part...

Yeah, how is that even possible?
