The Ring spooked me some. Then again, I was the only one up in the middle of the night watching it.

The Ring creeped me out too.

And that movie "Event Horizon". That is one fucked up movie, but it's also amazing.

Jaws was the worst because it was the only scary movie that seemed real. I saw it when I was like six and had nightmares about it for years.

Most scary movies seemed so fake it was hard to be scared by them. Although Poltergeist was scary too especially since the little girl died while they were making one of them. Hated Poltergeist especially that lady with the creepy voice in the first one, but the fourth one was the worst. I think it was the fourth one when they were in the apartment building. I think that’s the one when the little girl died. It was super creepy.

No, The Thing was bad too. That alien thing was so ugly and scary it makes me nauseous remembering it.

Hated Halloween because it seemed real too, but movies like Nightmare on Elm street or Chuckie always seemed stupid and fake to me.

Alfred Hitchcock’s movie with the birds. I think it was called birds but not sure. That movie was old but it was super scary. Those birds pecking on people’s heads gave me chills. I mean who doesn’t live near birds. I still feel suspicious of birds sometimes.

Then, the birds in hunger games brought it back. The hybrid birds that can mimic someone’s voice and drive you insane. It was super creepy.

What about Friday the 13th?
Also watched those as kid but the ones that was actually scary to me was Friday the 13th (i think second part) and IT.
Also i remember Night of the living dead was very creepy))

You know what I meant was nightmare on elm street, was stupid. You know with Freddie Krueger and his super cheesy costume. Not night of the living dead. I don’t remember night of living dead or Friday the 13th very well.

Although, all movies are ruined to a degree now because I’m too busy looking for symbolism and all that. I don’t watch them the way I used to anymore otherwise I would probably say some newer movies were scary, but they weren’t. They were subliminal messages of some kind that need to be decoded, not scary movies.

The worst 'horror' movie that seemed to be so popular when I was a teen was Paranormal activity. What a terrible movie, the actors were just atrocious and the bumps and random noises where so predictable.

I'd rank Jaws pretty high on the list of "scared the sh*t out me" movies.

Others that affected me on the same level

Phantasm
Suspiria
The Beyond
Gates of Hell
Zombie
Dawn of the Dead
Alien
Sinister
The Bay
The Void
The Autopsy of Jane Doe
It Follows

Although I'm not easily scared by horrors, that one is still the scariest movie I've ever seen. Other notable examples: Poltergeist, The Thing, Blair Witch Project. Jumpscares are crappy and predictable, the scariest films don't have them IMO

Chuckie, because the originals were popular when I was a toddler. As an adult, Tusk, House of 1000 Corpses and it's sequal.
I'm not a big fan of horror, especially not the gross and disturbing.

The Silence of the lambs is one of my favorite movies! Split was evil, the conjuring, Annabelle, and insidious were all pretty scary. I try to stay away from scary movies though I don’t enjoy being scared or seeing people suffer
