Hi guys, I live in Gauteng so I am not entirely up to scratch what happens down in the Cape. But what I can tell you is the following, the news about the guy who turned himself in because he was tired of eating human meat that you are referring to is true, I heard the news on the radio.

I was rather curious why there wasn't a follow up story, but I frequently hear about brutal farm murders from friends and family. It is never in the news like he said, it's all hushed in the end! But it is true, there is a market for human parts, albeit all of this is kept from the public. You will just see news articles here and there (little snippets) of syndicates being uncovered, children that was almost snatched etc.

In my one subject namely Religious studies there is a whole chapter on sangoma / traditional healer or witchdoctors among your Zulu, Xhosa and Sotho peoples. There is a deeply entrenched belief system in ancestral spirits and the "supreme being". Where the ancestors of the people are the mediators between the supreme being and the people. These ancestors (which I believe are demons) are the ones who usually gets blamed for a farm murders and muti made from human parts etc.
In our area there where several break ins by a guy who is leaping over 4m fences, so apparently the muti is used for these people to accomplish this (this is what some of my black friends say).

I also believe these things that was spoken about on rense isn't the norm here, yes it does happen but it is like satanism that happens in America, on the same scale I imagine. There are many black people who aren't part of these things and will frown upon it I can vouch for that!

The farms being taken away and everything going to waste is true, there are many articles about it:
http://thecasualobserver.co.za/pitfalls-land-reform-south-africa/

One thing you have to understand about all of this is that long ago when the settlers and some of the tribes here made deals with one another, all went well until basically up until the war with the English. Black and White fought together against the English and the English were winning, abruptly the war stopped and the country was 'given' back to South Africans (yeah right). Since then the elite in Europe used South Africa as a experiment for apartheid (keeping black and white separate). If you really delve into our past you will see how many people black and white fought against this system, yes of course there were people who just sat back and did nothing and even today there is a minority on the white and black sides that are racist that are souring things here for all of us.

There is basically a European system that you are trying to put on an African system - it doesn't work, because in Africa people had a life where tomorrow worries about tomorrow, it's in the culture...

I love my country and I will much rather stay here though, every place on earth have their own troubles, but here if you go and live in Knysna and in and around the garden route it is lovely, peaceful and truly wonderful.

I hope that answers some of your questions?

Hi from Cape Town. Been having some issues trying to bring the point across to people who have no clue and who think they have the answers while sitting across the pond. I have been trying to get more info re farm murders as a mate of mine lives in Upington. Spent 2 years in Pretoria 2010-12 and you could see the state of decay all over the place.

Look what happened at Marikana some time back. The miners were given muti to make them invisible. Unless you live here you will have a hard time understanding the complexity of this country.

Cheers

It is true guys, South Africa really has huge problems, but I can tell you that there are many of us that is in unity, and I have to say this but we are standing together in prayer against all this violence and I believe Yeshua (Jesus) will turn this country around.

People have been talking about secession for some time here in the Cape. We have so many political parties that it boggles the mind. It is not going to happen - it is wishful thinking. It is a pipe dream. Each party has its own manifesto and as we all know, manifesto vs reality is just not the same thing. We as a nation are too divided to stand together. Those who say that I am being negative on this issue - you are welcome to your opinion. I see reality as I live in it. Bringing Christianity into this, it has been prophesied by many over a period of around 75 odd years that a revival will start in Cape Town. On Sunday shofars and trumpets were blown from the hill tops and table mountain to usher in the start. This was done by various denominations. A dream was given to quite a few leaders Haggai 2:10 and this was shared with us in church. It was amazing how many of us just dropped to our knees.

It was said that the power did not belong to the government but to GOD's children. I leave you with that :)

In the beginning of this thread I mentioned what happens and then was called many things because I mentioned that this happens all over the Sub Saharan continent. Artful - they will climb into you as well. The video posted is fairly old but what is shown in the video is not even the tip of the iceberg. Try to find some videos on what is called necklacing here. That is when they place a car tyre over your upper body, fill it with fuel and then set it alight. I have seen that first hand and the smell still stays with me.

I've seen a video about what you call "necklacing". It was a few years ago about gay people undergoing that fate in Uganda. Not exactly excited to have that kind of déjà-vu, but I can't imagine what it must be like to have been a live witness to it.

Don't worry about people's reactions here. I'm familiar with being the center of controversy. You'd be surprised how many of the local self-proclaimed out-of-the-box thinkers are as mainstream as Buzzfeed.

:D:):p

The brutality is sickening and when people question you even after posting evidence, then all you can do is shake your head and move on. Some people do not want to face the reality of this world and cannot grasp that what is being fed to them by the MSM is false. There are police crime scene videos that I am not going to post here as that will make you sick. There are some videos of the actual acts taken by journalists (which you can view on liveleak). Good luck keeping your breakfast down.

Ironically though, if you would say there's a black genocide going on, those same people would probably agree at face value and act all shocked, regardless of the facts. Or they'll post some false equivalence about a fat white lady having a racist rant on a bus.

Correct. The world watched and did nothing during the genocide in Rwanda. Everyone was shocked but did nothing. Double standards right through...

Of course the "western world" did nothing about it. It's their goal to keep africa uneducated and poor since ... I don't know.
And I can understand why the black people in south-africa are starting riots against white people, they simply have enough of being with them I guess. No more oppression.

But what I don't understand is all those massacres, this religiousness and this brutality taking place on this continent. Asia in some parts is kind of similar in some sort of way, just a feeling.

Is it like I suppose: warlords financed by the "western world" speading violence and terror? Making a normal life impossible?
Plus the fact that "we" (the western world) destroy "your" (africans) markets by exporting milk powder, clothes, chicken and what not?
Or is it like this: religious people believing in medieval beliefs, still shaped by tribes and kings in their heads? Rather trusting in the next shaman than in the next "western-looking" doctor with some pills (sometimes bad) and some serious medical knowledge (very good)?
Or is it a mix of both - or everything wrong?

I really want to understand what is really going on with this continent. Because, let's be serious, with the right effort and some serious organisation africa could have been way more modernized today. It is so full of minerals, where is all this money going to? Where is the money from the EU going to? Why isn't this controlled better?
Some people on this continent still have to walk for over 2 hours for water. For fucking water. A well can't be that difficult and expensive to built.

Can someone please explain this to me? Cause I've seen a documentation where a teacher (I think) from africa (don't know the country anymore) said something like "the people from here have to put more effort in their forthcoming". And that a lot of them are just expecting the EU, for example, to support them financially cause of all the suffering from colonization. Something like that.

My thoughts are: of course africa had a hard time, but I think the people are fighting against each other over and over again instead of building up their countrys they hold each other down in some sort of way. Political leaders (more like kings, in power for decades) do the rest. Please correct me if I'm wrong ...

It all boils down to tribal beliefs. They will constantly fight each other and nothing anyone does will change that. They are being taught from an early age that tribe 'x' is better than tribe 'y' etc. WRT the money from the EU etc, well, that money goes to a select few. Look at the mansions the presidents have and look at the shacks/huts the people live in!!! Nothing will change as this is the tribal hierachy. It is accepted. When riots break out, it is usually people who instigate this so that they (instigators) can gain more power. It is all about power.

If the country burns, they lose nothing as they go back to their villages etc and carry on a rural life. It is a very complicated system the Western world is trying to bring here in that most folks could not care less about the Western world. China has all but taken over Africa with rebuilding infrastructure with Chinese workers. There is a poverty mentality all over. It is difficult to explain this to someone who lives in a first world country and has never experienced tribal conflict / warfare.

Thank you very much for your answer. I don't know how representative your point of view is but at least it's an opinion which sounds as objective as possible.
But it's still sad to hear. I wished africa would become more educated, wealthy and less violent. Because I think the whole world would have a new perspective on standing together as one.
Asia is going this way I think as the continent becomes wealthier more and more, at least in particular, especially in china of course.

I hope that all people on this planet are on nearly the same "level" someday. To leave all this killing and striving for power behind us and do something together which makes sense. Just dreams ...

I agree here with Dmitri, tribal beliefs (including ancestralism) is deeply engraved in many people in South Africa. People in South Africa absolutely believe that the 'king' or leader is entitled to all, and then they clash with one another, because who is the supreme king? The Zulu, Xhosa or the others? It's the African system...

And I can understand why the black people in south-africa are starting riots against white people, they simply have enough of being with them I guess. No more oppression.
Usually the riots these days is about service delivery and jobs, so they riot more against the failures of the ANC to use our tax money properly.

But what I don't understand is all those massacres, this religiousness and this brutality taking place on this continent.
You have to understand, there is a huge amount of indoctrination going on in this country, the black youth here has no idea what happened in the time of apartheid, they are riled up by the media and the ANC. All the good history has been erased, like white people who fought against apartheid. And of course the biggest secret that nobody knows - that the British elite used South Africa as their little experiment by implementing apartheid. In the end many of our poor people are not receiving any adequate education, they literally do not have the mental capacity to think things out, so they believe the propaganda and lies without question.

When a child is young their brain has millions of neuron connections, but if you do not stimulate many different things in a child, they will lose those connections, many black children aren’t stimulated, read to and played with, they are strapped to their mother's back and get no stimulation. There was a whole TED Talk about how this works that made me realise this is the root of the problem here in South Africa.

And then of course the fact that the tax money that is supposed to build the economy and schools, education and services is going into king Zuma (this is how our president sees himself) and his family and their coffers.

The only genocide I can have pity for (excluding kids) is the one that happens to natives in their own land. I don't understand the logic that one can come to someone else's land, forcefully take it (usually thru genocide) then years later "change their ways" and pretend it never happened. But when the shoe is on the other foot, NOW we should feel sorry? That's a hard pill for me to swallow.

And some might say "well what did the people of today do to deserve genocide?" To which I'd reply "what did the natives do to deserve the genocide they went thru?" In my estimation ignoring all spiritual aspects, both did nothing to deserve any sort of genocide or maltreatment. But if one got it at the hands of the other, than I'm not sure why it shouldn't happen vice versa.

For me violence that isn't in self defense isn't the answer. So I'd simply let things run their course because things based on lies, theft. Murder etc.. do not last long (imo)

That's what needs to be done but the people who run our country are corrupt.:(
If you mention to folks outside of here how much Nkandla cost then I do not think they will appreciate the extent of the corruption going on. Last I saw it was around 340 million rands which is about 28 million US dollars and just look at the rural folks around the complex - broken huts, no running water, no electricity, no tarred roads, no hospitals.........
