Hi guys, I live in Gauteng so I am not entirely up to scratch what happens down in the Cape. But what I can tell you is the following, the news about the guy who turned himself in because he was tired of eating human meat that you are referring to is true, I heard the news on the radio.
I was rather curious why there wasn't a follow up story, but I frequently hear about brutal farm murders from friends and family. It is never in the news like he said, it's all hushed in the end! But it is true, there is a market for human parts, albeit all of this is kept from the public. You will just see news articles here and there (little snippets) of syndicates being uncovered, children that was almost snatched etc.
In my one subject namely Religious studies there is a whole chapter on sangoma / traditional healer or witchdoctors among your Zulu, Xhosa and Sotho peoples. There is a deeply entrenched belief system in ancestral spirits and the "supreme being". Where the ancestors of the people are the mediators between the supreme being and the people. These ancestors (which I believe are demons) are the ones who usually gets blamed for a farm murders and muti made from human parts etc.
In our area there where several break ins by a guy who is leaping over 4m fences, so apparently the muti is used for these people to accomplish this (this is what some of my black friends say).
I also believe these things that was spoken about on rense isn't the norm here, yes it does happen but it is like satanism that happens in America, on the same scale I imagine. There are many black people who aren't part of these things and will frown upon it I can vouch for that!
The farms being taken away and everything going to waste is true, there are many articles about it:

One thing you have to understand about all of this is that long ago when the settlers and some of the tribes here made deals with one another, all went well until basically up until the war with the English. Black and White fought together against the English and the English were winning, abruptly the war stopped and the country was 'given' back to South Africans (yeah right). Since then the elite in Europe used South Africa as a experiment for apartheid (keeping black and white separate). If you really delve into our past you will see how many people black and white fought against this system, yes of course there were people who just sat back and did nothing and even today there is a minority on the white and black sides that are racist that are souring things here for all of us.
There is basically a European system that you are trying to put on an African system - it doesn't work, because in Africa people had a life where tomorrow worries about tomorrow, it's in the culture...
I love my country and I will much rather stay here though, every place on earth have their own troubles, but here if you go and live in Knysna and in and around the garden route it is lovely, peaceful and truly wonderful.
I hope that answers some of your questions?
