God created angels and Jinn before human beings. Angels are incapable of choosing to be disobedient towards God. Angels were created without desires.

Jinn on the other hand were created with desires and intellect. They can alter their shape, size and appearance so that they can appear like how many people think of Angels.

Jinn often take the appearance of Angels in popular culture in order to convince people to worship them or some other false deity.

The surest way to know whether it is an Angel or an evil Jinn is that an Angel would never bring revelation to anyone except a Prophet. This means, an Angel would never bring anything which contradicts, alters or changes the revelation and laws as revealed to the previous Messenger. Whereas an evil Jinn appearing like an Angel always tries to encourage a person to act contrary to revelation and Divine Law whether through false worship and obedience or through corrupt beliefs and thoughts.

Most "Angels" that appear to Christians, even appearances of "Mary", are always evil Jinn telling the devotee to build a shrine or altar upon which to make offerings of worship and acts of obedience. This is all false worship and acts of disobedience to the Creator. Evil Jinn want people to worship other than the Creator. This is the task that Satan himself has assigned them.

The impression that Christians have that "not all angels are good" is based on a misunderstanding they have about the creation itself.

So, Christians have a concept of "fallen angels" whereas Muslims do not. All Angels are good and only obey the Creator. Whereas Jinn can be good or bad. The good Jinn obey God in avoiding the residences and areas of human beings. Evil Jinn live among human beings, always looking for ways to misguide us, even appearing as "Angels" in order to solicit false worship and disobedience to the Creator.

there is a fact that many of those affiliated with Christ, peace be upon him, overlook, which is that the Christian beliefs inspired by the New Testament meet radically with the old pagan beliefs.

The Trinity, the Incarnation, eternal sin, atonement with salvation, crucifixion, and redemption, the Nicene Creed, the Lord’s Supper (Holy Supper) and baptisms, and ecclesiastical sacraments...

Christians agree with the pagan nations in the history of celebrating the birth of Christ, peace be upon him.

Dani Vera said: “The worship of the cross is of pagan origin, as they used the cross in magic before Christianity, and these ideas impressed the pagan emperors to support the worshipers of the Trinity.”

God sent the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, to correct the previous books and to worship the one God (the Father) only, and that Jesus is the prophet of God, and this is his true nature like the rest of the prophets

Prophet Muḥammad's personality was very simple, compassionate and loving towards others. This human aspect did not stem from his abstract human personality, but rather from the fact that he was a human being chosen by Allah to bear the responsibility of prophethood. Allah therefore purified him, taught him and sent him as a mercy to the world.

However, the human aspect of the Prophet – blessings and peace be upon him – is clearly observable in the various situations of his life. We find it in his behavior towards his family members. It has never been reported in Islamic traditions that he was violent towards his family. On the contrary, he devoted part of his time to the service of his family, helping them with the various domestic tasks. In addition, he allowed them to attend Fridays and feasts, and he even held running competitions with them.

The Messenger of Allah loved servants and workers, and treated them well. He recommended to his companions, and to Muslims in general, that they be benevolent towards servants and slaves.

The human aspect of the Prophet was not limited to his entourage, he behaved in the same way with his enemies and on the battlefields.

During his greatest victory, when the Prophet retook Makkah and his Quraysh enemies were defeated and surrendered to him, he entered it humbly, with his head bowed, without vengeance or bloodshed. He granted complete forgiveness to his enemies simply and unconditionally surrendering. Moreover, in his battles, the Prophet advised Muslims not to kill children, women and old people, in this connection, he recommended them thus: "Do not kill an old man, a young child or a woman ".

The tenderness of the Prophet was not limited to humans, but also extended to include animals who are unable to express their pain and needs. He urged his companions to be kind to animals, telling them the story of the man who took pity on a thirsty dog and presented it with water. So Allah forgave him and admitted him to paradise.

A careful examination of the life of the Prophet - blessings and peace be upon him - shows us that he suffered persecution and injustice in Mecca; however, he was not swayed by the cruelty he experienced, and he had no unbridled desire to seek revenge on those who wronged him.

Such is the personality of the Prophet peace be upon him – the human being who changed the face of the world, a simple, merciful and great personality.

Polygamy is a form of marriage wherein a person has more than one spouse. Polygamy can be of two types. The first type is called polygyny, where a man marries more than one woman, and the other is polyandry, where a woman marries more than one man. In Islam, a limited form of polygyny is permitted, whereas polyandry is completely prohibited.

In contrast to Islam, one will not find a limit for the number of wives in the Jewish Talmud or the Christian Bible. According to these scriptures, there is no limit to how many women a man may marry. Therefore, polygyny is not something exclusive to Islam but was practiced by early Christians and Jews as well. According to the Talmud, Abraham had three wives, while King Solomon had hundreds of wives. The practice of polygyny continued in Judaism until Rabbi Gershom ben Yehudah (955-1030 CE) issued an edict against it.

The Jewish Sephardic communities continued the practice until as late as 1950, when an Act of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel extended the ban on marrying more than one wife, thus prohibiting the practice for all Jews. In the early teachings of Christianity, men were permitted to take as many wives as they wished, since the Bible placed no limit on the number of wives a man could marry. It was only in recent centuries that the Church limited the number of wives to one.
At a time when men were permitted an unlimited number of wives, Islam limited the number to a maximum of four. Before the Quran was revealed, there was no upper limit for polygyny and many men had scores of wives. It gives a man permission to marry two, three or four women, on the condition that he deals with all of them equitably, benevolently and justly, as indicated by Allah's statement “Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one” (Quran 4:3)

It is not incumbent upon Muslims to practice polygyny. In Islam, taking an additional wife is neither encouraged nor prohibited. Furthermore, a Muslim who has two, three or four wives may not be a better Muslim as compared to a Muslim who has only one wife.
John Esposito, a professor of religion and international affairs and Islamic studies at Georgetown University, writes: "Although it is found in many religious and cultural traditions, polygamy is most often identified with Islam in the minds of Westerners. In fact, the Quran and Islamic Law sought to control and regulate the number of spouses rather than give free license." He continues: "The Quran allows a man to marry up to four wives, provided he can support and treat them all equally. Muslims regard this Quranic command as strengthening the status of women and the family, for it sought to ensure the welfare of single women and widows in a society whose male population was diminished by warfare, and to curb unrestricted polygamy." (John Esposito, Islam: The Straight Path)
There are certain circumstances which warrant the taking of another wife. For example, if there is a surplus of unmarried women in society, especially during times of war when widows are in need of shelter and care. Infant mortality rates among males are higher when compared to that of females. During wars, there are usually more men killed than women. Statistically, more men die due to accidents and diseases than women. The average life span of females is also generally longer than that of males. As a result at any given time in practically any given place, there is a shortage of men in comparison to women. Therefore, even if every single man got married to one woman, there would be millions of women who would still not be able to find a husband.

In Western society, it is not uncommon for a man to have girlfriends, or if he is married, to have extramarital affairs. Seldom is this practice scorned, despite the harms that stem from it. At the same time, polygyny is banned in western society although it produces none of these adverse effects; rather it preserves the honor and chastity of women. Within a second, third or fourth marriage the woman is a wife, not a mistress; she has a husband who is obligated by Islamic law to provide for her and her children, not a “boyfriend” who may one day cast her aside or deny knowing her if she becomes pregnant.

There is no doubt that a second wife who is lawfully married and treated with honor is better off than a mistress without any legal rights or social respect. Islam strictly prohibits and penalizes prostitution, fornication, and adultery and permits polygyny under strict conditions.

. Islam impose harsh punishments for sex outside marriage
Punishment in Islam has a social purpose, which is to dissuade others from committing the same crime. The nature of the punishment depends on the seriousness of the crime in question. Nowadays, some are opposed to the Islamic punishment for fornication and adultery because they see it as disproportionate or too harsh a punishment. The basic problem here is the different standards by which the severity of the crime is measured.

Islam views adultery as a very serious crime, because it undermines the very foundation of the family system upon which the whole superstructure of the society is built. Illicit relationships destabilize the family and bring about the breakdown of the system. Family breakdown imperils the physical and mental health of future

generations, which in turn leads to a vicious circle of decadence, dissipation, and dissolution. Therefore, it is imperative that all measures must be taken to protect the family. That is why Islam emphasizes protection of the family by imposing severe punishments for activities that threaten the family foundation. These punishments are the same for men and women alike.

There is no overstating of the fact that Islamic punishments are only a part of a vastly larger integrated whole. There are essential conditions for the application of prescribed punishments in Islam:
First, Muslims are strongly encouraged to marry whenever possible, providing a lawful means of gratification. Prophet Muhammad said:
“O youths, whoever of you can afford marriage (financially and physically) let him get married; for indeed it lowers the gaze, and keeps one chaste; whoever cannot get married, he should fast, for it safeguards him.”

A man may legally take as many as four wives as long as he treats each of them equitably and justly. In cases of confirmed incompatibility or dissatisfaction, a wife has the right to request the dissolution of the marriage.

Second, Muslims, whether married or unmarried, must adhere to proper dress and behavior guidelines at all times. Privacy is to be respected and compromising situations strictly avoided as a matter of obedience to Allah.

Third, only a legitimate Islamic government has the right to implement these punishments. Such an Islamic government must establish justice as its core value in all affairs so that the social and cultural environment of the country is congenial for the moral life of its citizens. It is only after the above two conditions have been fulfilled that a government is entitled to implement Islamic punishments on its land, and only then does the court gain the authority to judge a case according to its provisions.

And finally, any case that comes before the court for judgment must be investigated thoroughly and proper evidence brought before the court to satisfy all the requirements of Islamic law. Conviction is subject to strict conditions, which are most difficult to fulfill. This means that, in reality, the punishments are seldom carried out without the connivance of the criminal, and serve primarily as deterrents.

Nobody needs to follow what is deceitfully referred to as "Sharia Law"; what we NEED to do is to reinstate God's Law, found in the first five books of the Bible, namely Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, exactly as we are repeatedly COMMANDED to do in the Koran (Quran).

Sura 6:154-157
6:154. Moreover, We gave Moses the Book (Torah), COMPLETING (Our favour) to those who would do right, and explaining ALL things IN DETAIL,- and a GUIDE and a MERCY, that they might believe in the meeting with their Lord.
6:155. And this (Torah) is a Book which We have revealed as a BLESSING: so follow it and be righteous, that YE may receive mercy (Sura 32:23):
6:156. Lest YE should say: "The Book (Torah) was sent down to two Peoples before us, and for our part, we remained unacquainted with all that they learned by careful study:"
6:157. Or lest YE should say: "If the Book (Torah) had only been sent down to US, we should have FOLLOWED its guidance BETTER than they (Sura 32:23)." Now then hath come unto YOU a clear (Sign) from your Lord,- and a GUIDE and a MERCY: then who could do MORE WRONG than one who rejecteth "I AM"'s Signs (and Torah - Bible), and turneth away therefrom? In good time shall We requite those who turn away from Our Signs, with a dreadful penalty, for their turning away.

See also: Sura 2:53, 2:87-93, Sura 2:97-98, 3:1-3, 3:48-50, 4:47, 4:54, 5:46-51, 6:91-94, 7:157, 9:111, 10:37, 11:17, 12:111, 15:9-10, 17:2-4, 21:48, 22:52, 23:20, 23:49, 25:35, 28:1-3, 32:23, 35:25-32, 37:117, 40:53, 40:70, 41:45, 42:14-17, 45:16, 46:12, 46:30, 48:29, 53:36-47, 57:25-29, and 61:6-7

And for any who may have been duped by the so-called leaders and FAKE imams into believing the Bible has somehow been lost or corrupted, please believe Allah and His Word rather than the partners that you have unlawfully assigned to Him.

Sura 32:23. We did indeed aforetime give the Book (Torah) to Moses: be then NOT IN DOUBT of its (The Torah) reaching (THEE): and We made it a Guide to the Children of Israel.

Islam is big on discipline, even among the laity. It is through disciplining the self and spending time in worship, which includes study of the religion, does a person find the spiritual and mental space and grace required to let go of petty attachments and overwhelming desires.

the integrity of the sources for religious practices and legislation.
The science of narrations is just one of the several religious sciences to which students of the religion can dedicate themselves. The religious sciences in Islam are rigorous both intellectually and spiritually, demanding discipline and integrity in all aspects of life.

Some of the best minds to ever walk the planet devoted themselves to one or another Islamic science. It is precisely due to this dedication and discipline that their faith in God exceeded the bounds of faith found elsewhere. Accounts of their lives according to their students and colleagues abound in miracles and demonstrations of God's favor on them.

The academic rigor in the sciences of Islam are not intended to produce mere bookworms or walking encyclopaedias- it is intended to produce better Muslims who are closer to God through knowledge of Him and practice of that knowledge.

The mistakes of Jews and Christians with regard to how their sources for revelation and legislation have been corrupted over time through alterations to the texts and laws- this served as a stark warning and lesson for early Muslims who sought to guarantee the integrity of the sources of Islam for future generations.

Ensuring an accurate and unaltered basis for Islam not only guarantees that the practices and rules are consistent with the revelation, it also provides a stable and adequate foundation for the derivation of legal principles allowing for continued application of the revelation to new developments and needs for human beings.

Many think that the fixation of Muslims with "preservation" of the scriptures and "adherence" to textual authorities is a means of remaining in the past. On the contrary, it is precisely due to "preservation" of scripture and "adherence" to textual authorities that Muslim scholarship is so capable of adapting and providing solutions to even the most modern questions and challenges to religiosity.

2-

- According to Deuteronomy 31:9 Moses (peace be upon him) gave the law to the priests, the sons of Levi.

- The majority of the Kings of the children of Israel after the division - and the majority of the children of Israel themselves - were corrupt and even fell into idolatry, persecuting the Prophets (peace be upon them) and even killing them.

There were obviously also good people among them and according to Islamic understanding these good people among them attained salvation.

- Jewish sources affirm that the Torah was either partially or completely lost at some point of history (with the destruction of the first temple to be more precise)!

Just because people like the Masoretes - who came more than 2000 years after Moses (peace be upon him) - were meticulous when writing the "Torah", this does not deny it to be lost many many centuries before them.

According to 2 Esdras 14 the Torah was burned [and completely lost] and the people had become completely ignorant of the law until Ezra "restored it with the help of the Holy Spirit".

According to the Talmud in Sukkah 20a (see towards the end) parts of the Torah had been forgotten several times (due to the Babylonian captivity) and one of the first that "restored" them was Ezra and thereafter some Rabbis.

Many of the Islamic scholars stated that this very Ezra played a huge role in distorting the Torah.

- The Rabbis claim things to be from the law of the Torah, while in reality some of these laws are only proofs for their extremism and fanatism!

If one just sees how many things they claimed regarding what is allowed to be eaten and what not, one will not doubt for one second that they invented this themselves in order to make the life of their people difficult without any good reason!

- Interestingly it was the Jewish religious leadership, who rejected the Messiah (peace be upon him) more than anyone else and lied and plotted against him.

The curse of God descended upon them and this led to the destruction of the second temple.

- Christians do not follow the laws or the creed that Jesus (peace be upon him) and his disciples followed and this even when we just take the four canonical gospels into consideration.

What's the basis for doing so and replacing their practice and understanding with what the Christian priests invented afterwards instead?

If you ask me the Christians distorted the teachings of Jesus (peace be upon him) by adding Greco-Roman paganism to it in order to find Gentile converts and win the approval of the state.

- I find it strange that you're unable to imagine that Prophets (peace be upon them) do NOT knowingly disobey God - "because they are humans" - and this with the knowledge that Jesus (peace be upon him) was also a Prophet and a human being and you people affirm him to be sinfree just as we do.

What's the basis for this double standard in judgment?

- The oldest (but incomplete) manuscripts of the OT are the Dead Sea Scrolls, which are still more than 1000 years after Moses (peace be upon him).

The Dead Sea Scrolls showed that in addition to Masoretic text, the Septuagint and the Samaritan Pentateuch there are even more textual differences between the manuscripts!

- Since it has been shown in this thread that the Bible was subject to additions and omissions and that we even find contradictory accounts when comparing different passages, then on what basis can it be claimed that the passages, where the Prophets of God (peace be upon them) are accused of all kinds of major crimes and sins, are definetely authentically transmitted?!

- Islam restored the belief in the Oneness and Transcendence of God in its purest form as preached by all Prophets (peace be upon them), with a law that from now on would apply to all humanity (and not just the children of Israel) till the end of times.

The Islamic law agrees with the Torah in its foundation, but there are also some differences in the branches as is acknowledged by all Islamic sources.

In addition to this the Qur`an described the Prophets (peace be upon them) as the noble people that they were and declared them innocent from the grave accusations that the disbelievers from among the children of Israel had invented against them for whatever wordly reason.

- It's obligatory upon every human being whom the Islamic call reaches in its correct form to accept it and follow it.

I have a question I'm struggling to find an answer, what's muslim justification to reject the practice of the 10 commandments :

1. You shall love God with all your heart and have no other gods
2. You shall not make any idols to worship
3. You shall not take the Lord's name in vain
4. Remember and keep the Sabbath holy
5. Honour your father and mother
6. You shall not kill
7. You shall not commit adultery
8. You shall not steal
9. You shall not bear false witness
10. You shall not covet

Do you have an equivalent for each of these Commandments in the Qur'an or Muslims actually need to return to the Bible to know them?

A true Muslim adheres to the teachings of Islam

And the wonderful principles and values of the Holy Quran

Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him

Talked about all religious and material matters

Because Islam
Constitution and approach to life

By eating, sleeping and praying, taking a bath and making transactions between people

Unlike other religions that do not apply the teachings of religion
Religion is just a ritual

Pray and then go out to lie and drink alcohol and lack of hygiene and adultery

Like other religions
most christians dont even follow their own faith, they just carry it as a sort of "name" in their ID card or on their facebook status

becoming a muslim, means to "give in to GOD and to honor and obey

There are many people, by the grace of Allah, who have converted to Islam
They left alcohol, gambling, usury and drugs

But before they converted to Islam, they couldn't leave all of these things

Doctors could not cure their addiction because they returned to addiction every time
Prisons couldn't keep them away from drugs

And all the other religions or systems could not help them

Islam, by the grace of God, is a way to protect and protect these people from bad things

There are many examples of converts to Islam, relatives and friends in society

You will be surprised to change their behavior for the better

Islamic religion is really the right religion

All Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) have one God, (the Father)

And Jesus is the prophet of God, peace be upon him
And the Holy Spirit is an angel who conveys revelation from the Father to all the prophets

But people deviated from the true God (the Father) and worshiped Christ in Christianity

And in Judaism, they worship God (the Father), but they distorted the image of God by describing him
with incomplete attributes, such as saying, “God weeps, sleeps, regrets his decisions, and he is stingy.”

But in Islam they worship God (the Father) only as all the prophets worshiped him, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad, peace be upon them

Therefore, the Qur'an is the last message to humanity

God sent the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, with the Qur’an to correct the previous books (the Torah and the Gospel).

The Prophets of the Old Testament such as Abraham, Noah and Jonah never preached that God is part of a Trinity, and did not believe in Jesus as their saviour. Their message was simple: there is one God and He alone deserves your worship. It doesn’t make sense that God sent Prophets for thousands of years with the same essential message, and then all of a sudden he says he is in a Trinity and that you must believe in Jesus to be saved.

The truth is that Jesus preached the same message that the Prophets in the Old Testament preached. There is a passage in the Bible which really emphasizes his core message. A man came to Jesus and asked “Which is the first commandment of all?”Jesus answered, “The first of all the commandments is Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.’’[Mark 12:28-29]. So the greatest commandment, the most important belief according to Jesus is that God is one. If Jesus was God he would have said ‘I am God, worship me’, but he didn’t. He merely repeated a verse from the Old Testament confirming that God is One.

Some people claim that Jesus came to die for the sins of the world. But consider the following statement of Jesus: This is eternal life: to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you sent. I have glorified you on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.[John 17:3-4].

Also Jesus said “salvation is of the Jews” [John 4:22]. So according to this we don’t need to believe in the Trinity or that Jesus died for our sins to attain salvation since the Jews don’t have these beliefs.

Islam is not just another religion. It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham. Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God. It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone. It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine. The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as:

“Say, He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He does not give birth, nor was He born, and there is nothing like Him.” (Quran 112:1-4)[4]

Becoming a Muslim is not turning your back to Jesus. Rather it’s going back to the original teachings of Jesus and obeying him.

Islam (Submission to the will of God) is the same and only religion ever given to the human race. It is the religion of Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, Solomon, Jesus, Muhammad and all the other messengers mentioned or not mentioned in the scripture. The Ten Commandments as we see them here are not any more than the same message given to the prophet Muhammad .

The Ten Commandments in The Quran

1.
There is no God except one God (47:19)

2. There is nothing whatsoever like unto Him (42:11)

3. Make not God's name an excuse to your oaths (2:224)

4. Be kind to your parents if one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not a word of contempt nor repel them but address them in terms of honor. (17:23)

5. As for the thief, male or female, cut off his or her hands, but those who repent After a crime and reform shall be forgiven by God, for God is forgiving and kind. (5:38 - 39)

6. They invoke a curse of God if they lie. (24:7) Hide not the testimony (2:283)

Similarities between the Quran and the Bible

There are a number of similarities between the Quran and the Bible. Some critics of Islam contend that the former has been copied from the latter. In fact, the similarities give evidence that both of them are based on a common source from which all divine revelations came from - the one Universal God.

There are four revelations of God that have been mentioned by name in the Quran: Torah, Zaboor, Injeel, and Quran.

* Torah was revealed to Moses
.
* Zaboor was revealed to David
.
* Injeel was revealed to Jesus
.
* Quran was revealed as the final and complete message to Muhammad
.

It is an article of faith for every Muslim to believe in all the Prophets of God and all revelations of God.

The present-day Bible has the first five books of the Old Testament attributed to Moses
and the Psalms attributed to David
.

The New Testament or the four Gospels of the New Testament are not the Torah, the Zaboor, or the Injeel, which the Quran refers to.

The original texts of the New Testament were written in Koine Greek by various authors after c. 45 AD and before c. 140 AD. Its books were gradually collected into a single volume over a period of several centuries. They include a collection of books and letters about Jesus' life. It begins with the four gospels, accounts of Jesus' life from four different points of view. They are followed by an account of the earliest church (Acts of the Apostles), and then 21 letters (13 of which are attributed to Paul) and the Revelation of John.

According to Islamic belief, these books of the present day Bible may partly contain the word of God, but these books are not the exact revelations that were revealed to Moses, David, or Jesus
. The following two verses of the Quran address this issue.

And, behold, among the followers of earlier revelation, there are indeed such as [truly] believe in God, and in that which has been bestowed from on high upon you as well as in that which has been bestowed upon them. Standing in awe of God, they do not barter away God's messages for a trifling gain. They shall have their reward with their Sustainer - for, behold, God is swift in reckoning! (Quran 3:199)

And, behold, there are indeed some among them who distort the bible with their tongues, so as to make you think that [what they say] is from the bible, the while it is not from the bible; and who say, "This is from God," while it is not from God: and thus do they tell untruths about God, being well aware [that it is false]. (Quran 3:78)

The Quran refers to all the different Prophets of God as belonging to one single brotherhood. All the prophets had a similar mission and the same basic message.

The Prophet believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers; they all believe in God and His Angels and His Books and His Prophets. Say, We make no difference between any of His prophets. And they say: We hear, and we obey: (We seek) Thy forgiveness, our Lord, and to Thee is the end of all journeys. (Quran 2:285 )

Because of this, the fundamental teachings of the major faiths cannot be contradictory. The differences which exist between various religions are not because the Prophets preached a different message, but it is because the followers of these Prophets, over a period of time, forgot part of what they had been taught, and furthermore, misinterpreted the scriptures.

7. If anyone has killed one person, it is as if he had killed the whole of humankind (5:32)

8. Do not come near adultery. It is an indecent deed and a way for other evils. (17:32)

9. Do good to your parents, relatives, and neighbors. (4:36) Saying of the Prophet Muhammad (P), "One of the greatest sins is to have illicit sex with your neighbor's wife."

10. When the call for the Friday Prayer is made, hasten to the remembrance of God and leave off your business. (62:9)

Is it the reason why the 4th commandment about sabbath has been changed to Friday prayer? Can we say the same about 'you shall not covet or 'Love your neighbor as yourself' like Jesus said since both are missing in Islamic texts?

those who repent After a crime and reform shall be forgiven by God, for God is forgiving and kind. (5:38 - 39)
In the Bible we know we're only forgiven through a sacrifice atoning for the sin of sinners. It's a fundamental principle and that's the reason why Jesus had to die, He is the sacrificial Lamb restoring a relationship with God. I find it odd that the Quran implies God's law can be violated and criminals are forgiven just like that. Being sorry isn't sufficient, someone has to pay the penalty because the wage of breaking God's law always had been death since the Torah. And that's something I think is so sad in Islam namely this lack of guarantee as to whether you're truly forgiven or not.

Assalamu alaikum.Saturday is Sabbath day,a day of prayer and celebration for Jews.

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

It is confirmed in the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) that Allaah ordained the Jews to glorify the day of Friday but they disputed about it, and they had chosen Saturday instead.

Some scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them stated that this day was kept unclear from them and they were left to choose it by themselves but they were wrong in choosing it. However, some other scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them stated that this day was specified for them but they changed it with another day because of their ungratefulness as usual. Whichever view is correct, the result is that it is the Jews who had chosen Saturday and this was not legislated by Allaah for them.

, the Quran stated that they transgressed on this day even though they glorified it and believed that it was forbidden to fish during this day. However, they did not act according to what they were ordained to do, and thus instigated the Wrath of Allaah against them, as the scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them stated.

Therefore, Friday has become a day for Muslims because they obey God as He commands

Verses of love in the Holy Quran

1. Affection and Mercy Between People

“And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought” [Quran 30:21].

Here the Quran helps us understand the innate human need for companionship – we are, after all, social beings who do need affection and love. Thus, within the folds of Islam, the Quran encourages us to find a companion and spouse, who can, in turn, help us understand the importance and joy in sharing affection and mercy between two people.

2. Believers Are Like Brothers

“The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy” [Quran 49:10].

By equating all believers as brothers or family, the Holy Quran sets another reminder for us all that we must love one another as part of a broader family of humankind. Love should not be limited to romantic love or spousal love and should instead be utilized to help build a society of merciful and respectful brothers and sisters.
3. Do Good

“And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good” [Quran 2:195].

Advertise on TMV

This seemingly simple verse offers a profound reflection on how to be a practising Muslim – to be loved by Allah, to be able to receive the love of the Most Highest, is a blessing beyond what many of us can imagine. All we have to do is to do good. While what it means to do good in this world could be expanded upon in another article, what we can take away from this line now is that we must always strive towards making the right decision in life, with the end goal of doing everything we can to try and receive the love of Allah.
4. We Will Return to Allah Together

“To each of you, We prescribed a law and a method. Had Allah willed, He would have made you one nation [united in religion], but [He intended] to test you in what He has given you; so race to [all that is] good. To Allah is your return all together, and He will [then] inform you concerning that over which you used to differ” [Quran 5:48].

Here the Holy Quran reminds us of two things: first, we were made different to be tested in numerous other ways, and second, in the end, we will all be returned to Allah together despite whatever differences we may have had during our lifetimes here on earth. Knowing that we are all returning to Allah together, despite our different tests and nations, can stand as a powerful reminder of the power of loving and respecting one another during our time in this world. The end will be the same for us all – we are returning to Allah to account for our deeds – which means we must always treat each other with a certain level of empathy and love.

5. Sharing Your Love

“Never will you attain the good [reward] until you spend [in the way of Allah ] from that which you love. And whatever you spend – indeed, Allah is Knowing of it” [Quran 3:92].

Finally, the Quran teaches us the importance of sharing your love – for only by sharing your love can you truly understand how important it is. This verse reminds us that we must try to give and share whatever we may have, in the duty towards living in a society of brothers and sisters who respect and love one another like family.

The prohibition of looking lustfully at the wives, daughters, and women of other men in the Qur’an

Allaah The Almighty Says (what means):

{Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allaah is Acquainted with what they do. And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands’ fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons, their sisters’ sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allaah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.} (Quran 24: 30-31)

In these verses, Allaah The Almighty orders the believing men and women to lower their gaze and guard their modesty for their own benefit and to attain greater purity.

The Prophet, , has said that directing a look at non-Mahram (marriageable) women is like a poisoned arrow.

This means that it is very dangerous and could lead to widespread Fitnah (trial).

From the scientific and physiological point of view, the act of looking or gazing upon non-Mahram women sets off a complex process of hormonal stimulation and release, and prepares the body and the sex organs for the process of sexual intercourse.

It is well known that the effects of stimulating sexual desire through unnatural or prohibited means has numerous harmful effects on the mind and body.

There is a difference between those who make a mistake against God

and the mistakes of people among themselves

The first: God’s right where a person disobeys God
And it was God's right to be obeyed and not disobeyed, and this right is forgiven by God
Almighty through sincere repentance that meets its conditions of regret, , and determination not to return.

The second: The right of the wronged is from one of the people who wronged him, and this is not left by God Almighty.

Either the oppressed forgives the oppressor and forgives if he wants

Or that Allah will please the one who was wronged on the Day of Resurrection so that He will forgive those who wronged Him.

or retribution

An example of that is premeditated killing, because it is related to a right of God Almighty; Because he forbade killing.

is the blood sacrifice. Simple understanding and forgiveness does not require blood sacrifice, torture or death in order to forgive

Think about the implications of a requirement for a blood sacrifice in moral terms.

That is an arbitrary condition. Do you mean to suggest that an omnipotent being cannot forgive transgressions without blood being spilled in atonement?

Do you require a blood sacrifice, something to be killed in order to forgive those who have wronged you?

God sacrificing himself to himself in order to forgive makes no more sense than taking another's life as a condition for forgiveness.
Isn't it supposed to be unconditional love? There is your contradiction.

A woman’s share of inherited wealth half that of a man’s, unfair!
Islam abolished the former practice whereby inheritance went only to the oldest male heir. According to the Quran, a woman automatically inherits from her father, her husband, her son and her childless brother. The Quran contains specific guidance regarding the division of the inherited wealth among the rightful beneficiaries.

The three verses that broadly describe the share of close relatives are found in chapter 4, verses 11, 12 and 176. In these verses, Allah establishes the right of children, parents and spouses to inherit a specific share without leaving the matter to human judgment and emotions. In the absence of certain close relatives a share is apportioned to more distant ones. The system of inheritance is a perfectly balanced product of the Creator's knowledge of human need and takes into account His imposition of greater responsibility upon particular members of the family in varying situations.

In most cases, the female inherits a share that is half that of the male. However, this is not always so. There are certain instances when they inherit equal shares, and in some cases, a female can inherit a share that is more than that of the male. But even when the male is given a larger share there is a perfectly logical reason behind it. In Islam a woman has no financial obligations towards her family, even if she is wealthy or has her own source of income; the economic responsibility always lies upon the man. As long as a woman remains unmarried, it is the legal obligation of her father, brother or other guardian to provide her food, clothing, medication, housing and other financial needs. After she is married, it is the duty of her husband or adult son. Islam holds the man financially responsible for fulfilling all the needs of his family.

So the difference in shares does not mean that one sex is preferred over the other. It represents a just balance between the roles and responsibilities of family members according to their natural, physical and emotional makeup. In general, the woman is in charge of running the household and taking care of the needs of those within it, so she is alleviated from financial obligations. Despite this, she receives a share of inheritance which becomes her own property to save or use as she pleases. No other person has claim to any portion of her share. In contrast, the man's share becomes a part of his property from which he is obligated to maintain his children and all female members of the household, so it is constantly being consumed.

Suppose someone died leaving a son and a daughter. The son's share of inheritance will be depleted when he gives a dowry to his wife and supports his family, including his sister until she marries. Any additional income will have to be earned through his work. However, his sister's share remains untouched, or might even increase if she invests it. When she marries, she will receive a dowry from her husband and will be maintained by him, having no financial responsibilities whatsoever. Thus, a man might conclude that Islam has favored women over men!

In addition, the Muslim may make a bequest at his own discretion, in which he can will up to one third of his property to anyone who would not inherit otherwise. The bequest can be a means of assistance to other relatives and people in need, both men and women. One may also allocate this portion or part of it toward charities and good works of his choice.

Yeah, I’ve asked this aswell over the years but answers were never forthcoming. It intrigues me how we got from Moses (the Sabbath) to Mohammed (Friday). Most Christians are aware of how the change happened in Christendom but we don’t really hear much from Muslims in regard to their own faith and the changes made to the Decalogue. Even though, btw, it predated Moses because it was sanctified at the end of the Creation process (Genesis 2:3) and will still be observed in the age to come (Isaiah 66:22)

Islam claims Moses as a father of the faith but Iam not sure if he came back to earth, he would recognize it or even vouch for it, considering that it appears to reject the very things that defined his prophet hood: the Moral Law (Decalogue) and the Ceremonial Laws (Laws of Moses….specifically the Sanctuary Rituals)

The Moral Law, spoken at Sinai and inscribed on tablets of stone by God, Himself, is as eternal as He is. Which is why it couldn’t be abrogated after the Fall to excuse Man’s sin (without the Law, there is no sin). The Cross is an enduring testimony to that fact…that it cannot be changed, edited or rendered null & void. So isn’t it very curious that, Mohammed, claiming to be sent by God propagated a message that not only abrogates the Eternal Law but also deviates from all his (claimed) predecessors.

It’s one of those things that, when pondered, stops you dead in the tracks….
The story of the Temple is just lies, written by the scribes of the "Bible",
They attributed this fabricated story to God.

This is for the benefit of the Jews for their occupation of Jerusalem

Considering that their king will not be completed except by the return of that alleged temple.

There is no reliable source that proves that Solomon, peace be upon him, built this temple

And also
Why did the Holy Quran not speak of the Temple? If he is of such sanctity and majesty that the Jews mention?!
Muslims are always more than happy to appeal to the OT in an effort to furnish evidence from the distant past that legitimizes Mohammed and his prophet hood. If the temple never existed, and thus it’s precursor…the portable tabernacle that the Israelites moved around with in the wilderness, the designs of which were explicitly shown to Moses while atop Sinai, I find it odd that the texts descriptive of that (Exodus 25-30, 35-40) are rejected outright. More so in Deuteronomy 18, the very chapter that you guys appeal to as containing a prophecy about Mohammed (18:17-18). The first verses of that chapter deal with rules pertaining to the priestly class and the Levites in general…to you that is all forged, bunk or made up…but the 15th, 17th & 18th verses of that SAME CHAPTER are totally legit. Absolute evidence for Mohammed’s prophet hood.

I just wish you guys would maintain some level of consistency when you make these claims.

Furthermore, it is ridiculous to claim that ancient Israel never had a temple of some sort. Every nation, from antiquity, always had a seat of government aswell as a seat/home for the national religion. If Israel’s neighbors (Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia etc) all had temples of their own, ruins of which may still be around, you’d have to convince us with evidence that Israel was just the odd man out. Better yet, this infrastructure (libraries aswell) was always a magnet for invaders and their lust to obliterate a culture. If ancient Israel didn’t have a temple, the ancient historical accounts of her neighbors would corroborate that…..unless you want to whitewash those neighbors’ historical accounts or Rome’s military exploits(General Titus, to be specific) in Judea circa 70AD??
The belief the inherited sin. contradicts divine justice.
I hope you do realize that the consequences of sin can be and are passed on genetically. So whatever happened at the Fall affected Man's entire person (spiritually, physically, emotionally and mentally) changes that get passed on genetically. If that wasn't the case, Adam's progeny wouldn't be subject to death and disease since it was his personal decision, not ours.

In Islam, the use of force is allowed only in special situations, particularly when the Muslim community is threatened by hostile forces. This is indeed natural and logical for any nation. Then again, the use of force in a campaign of jihad is determined by the leader of the Muslim community in a very ordered and ethical way. Islam considers all life forms as sacred, but particularly emphasizes the sanctity of human life “take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus doth He command you, that ye may learn wisdom.” (Quran 6:151)
“if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people.” (Quran 5:32)

Such is the value of a single human life, that Allah equates the taking of even one human life unjustly with killing all of humanity. It is important to understand that in Islam, war is only permitted in specific and dire circumstances. It is despised and only permitted as a last resort when all other attempts at peace have been made. It keeps warfare at a level of mercy and respect for the enemy such as none other has been able to reach. The Prophet, sometimes had to fight for the mere survival of his mission, but once security was ensured, he immediately reverted to peace and diplomacy.

Even in a state of war, Islam enjoins that armies deal with the enemy justly in the battlefield. Islam has drawn a clear line of distinction between the combatants and the non-combatants of an enemy country. The Prophet told his armies, "Do not kill any old person, any child or any woman.” And he said: "Do not kill the monks in monasteries."
Upon seeing the corpse of a woman on a battlefield, Prophet Muhammad angrily asked his companions why she had been killed, and he strongly condemned the atrocious act. For those enemies active in combat and those taken as prisoners of war, the list of rights is lengthy. There should be no torture; no killing of the wounded or defenseless, no mutilation of enemy bodies and return of corpses to the enemy must be honored. In light of the aforementioned, it becomes crystal clear that Islam does not permit aggression, violence, injustice, or oppression. At the same time, it calls for morality, justice, tolerance, and peace.

Far from being a militant dogma, Islam is a way of life that transcends race and ethnicity. The Quran repeatedly reminds us of our common origin “O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you.” (Quran 49:13)
It is the universality of its teachings that makes Islam the fastest growing religion in the world. In a world full of conflicts and deep schisms between human beings, a world that is currently plagued with terrorism, perpetrated by individuals and by states, Islam is a beacon of light that offers hope for the future.

It is very unfortunate that nowadays, Islam has become synonymous with "terrorism". Far from promoting terrorism, Islam is a religion of peace whose fundamentals teach its followers to maintain and promote peace and justice throughout the world. Islam does not condone “terrorism” as defined and understood nowadays: plane hijackings, hostage taking and the torturing and killing of innocents in order to achieve political or even religious goals. This is not how Islam teaches Muslims to solve their problems, achieve their goals, or to spread their religion.

The question that should be posed instead is: Do the teachings of Islam encourage terrorism? Certainly not - Islam totally prohibits all terrorist acts. It should be remembered that all religions have misguided followers. To be evenhanded and just, one must consider the teachings of the religion, as they are the yardstick by which the actions of its adherents can be assessed as being right or wrong.
It is completely unfair to judge Islam by the wrongdoings of some misguided or ignorant Muslims, or by the deteriorating condition of Muslims and the blatant corruption that pervades the Muslim world. In fact, what Islam preaches is one thing and what so many Muslims nowadays practice is something completely different.

The only way we can do justice to Islam is to find out about its noble teachings, which are clearly set out in the Quran and prophetic traditions. Former pop singer Cat Stevens, now known as Yousef Islam, observed: "It is wrong to judge Islam in the light of the behavior of some deviant Muslims who are always shown on the media. It is like judging a car to be bad if the driver is drunk and he crashes it into a wall."
Islam is a religion of peace, which is acquired by submitting one’s will to the will of the supreme Creator, God. Islam promotes peace but at the same time, it exhorts its followers to fight oppression. The fight against oppression may, at times, require the use of force, and sometimes force has to be used to maintain peace.

Certainly, Islamic law allows war under particular circumstances. Any religion or civilization that does not, would never survive. But Islam never condones attacks against innocent people, women or children. Islam also clearly forbids "taking the law into one's own hands", which means that individual Muslims cannot go around deciding who they want to kill or punish. Trial and punishment must only be carried out by a lawful authority and a qualified judge.

Another striking feature of the Prophet mohmmed was the perfection and beauty of his way of speaking.

One of the special gifts the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was graced with was jawami al-kalim -

(i.e., the shortest expression carrying the widest meanings)

The Prophet spoke in a manner in which every word was clearly pronounced and was understandable to everyone; so much so that if the listeners had counted the words it wouldn't have been a problem. He emphasized important sentences in his speech by repeating them three times.

According to the circumstances, the Prophet was a preacher, a mufti, a judge; or else a teacher, an educator, a head of the family; possibly also a diplomat, a commander, a conqueror. Besides all these qualities, he stands out as a sociable man with a wide circle of friends; he was in contact with friends and enemies, with Muslims and non-Muslims, with rich and poor, with young and old, with women and men alike.

Whenever the Prophet conversed, he always treated his Sahaba like a humble brother, a loving teacher and a kind father. When he wanted to teach them some rules of etiquette, he always addressed them in a gentle way. What he had to say he expressed sometimes jokingly, sometimes flatteringly, cheeringly, hopefully and encouragingly; depending on the circumstances, however, he sometimes used an ironic, comparative, horizon-broadening and thought-provoking manner.

The Prophet did not at all condone unnecessary exaggerations, excessive behavior that could bring Islam a bad name and contradicted the basic principles. Whenever such behaviors came to his attention, he became sad, angry, publicly opposed it and warned in a stern tone, trying to avoid such behaviors.

Allah sent the prophets as a mercy to the slaves and supported them with miracles to indicate the truthfulness of their message. Of all the prophets, our Prophet, Muhammad, was blessed with the most miracles. Al-Isra 'and al-Mi ^ raj are among the many miracles of Prophet Muhammad.

The miracle of al-Isra 'is confirmed in the Qur'an. In Surat al-Isra ', Ayah 1, Allah said:

which means: [Praise be to Allah Who enabled His slave, Muhammad, to make the journey at night from Masjid al-Haram in Makkah to Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem, which is surrounded a blessed land.] This journey is also confirmed in the sahih hadith. As such, there is scholarly consensus (ijma ^) Prophet Muhammad journeyed in body and soul the night of al-Isra 'from Masjid al-Haram in Makkah to Masjid al-Aqsain Jerusalem. Moreover, these scholars indicated the person who denies al-Isra 'is a blasphemer for belying the explicit text of the Qur'an.

Al-isra And Al-miraj ....... )scenes From Paradise And Fire

1- On Prophet Muhammad's journey from Masjid al-Haram to Masjid al-Aqsa, Allah enabled him to see some of His wondrous creations. Allah enabled the Prophet to see the world (dunya) like an old woman. However, this old woman was wearing a great deal of jewelry, and in this there is an indication signifying the reality of the world.

2- Allah enabled the Prophet to see Iblis. The Prophet saw something on the side of the road which did not dare to stand in his way or speak to him. What the Prophet saw was Iblis. Originally, Iblis was a believer and lived with the angels in Paradise. When Allah ordered the angels to prostrate (sujud) to Prophet Adam, Iblis was ordered to prostrate to him as well. The angels prostrated to Adam in obedience to Allah, because angels do not disobey Allah. However, Iblis did not obey, and he objected to the order of Allah. He said, "You created me out of fire, and You created him out of clay. How do You order me to prostrate to him?" So this objection by Iblis to the order of Allah was the first blasphemy he committed.

3- On his journey, the Prophet smelled a very nice odor. He asked Jibril about this pleasant scent and Jibril informed him this good smell was coming from the grave of the woman whose duty used to be to comb Pharaoh's daughter's hair. This woman was a good, pious believer. One day, as she was combing Pharaoh's daughter's hair, the comb fell from her hand.

At this she said, ""Bismillah. "Pharaoh's daughter asked her, "Do you have a god other than my father?" The woman said, "Yes. My Lord and the Lord of your father is Allah." Pharaoh's daughter told her father what had happened. Pharaoh demanded this woman blaspheme and leave Islam, but she refused. At that, Pharaoh threatened to kill her children. He brought a great pot of water and built a great fire under it. When the water boiled, Pharaoh brought her children and started to drop them into that pot one after the other.

Throughout all this, the woman remained steadfast to Islam, even when Pharaoh reached her youngest child--a little boy still bosom feeding--but she felt pity for him. At that, Allah enabled this child to speak. He said to his mother, "O Mother, be patient. The torture of the Hereafter is far more severe than the torture of this life, and do not be reluctant, because you are right." At this the woman requested Pharaoh collect her bones and the bones of her children and bury them in the same grave. Pharaoh promised her that--then dropped her into that boiling water. She died as a martyr. The good odor the Prophet smelled coming from her grave is an indication of her high status.

4- During his trip, the Prophet saw people who were planting and reaping in two days. Jibril told the Prophet, "These were the people who fight for the sake of Allah (mujahidun). "wink."

5- The Prophet also saw people whose lips and tongues were clipped with scissors made of fire. Jibril told the Prophet, "These are the speakers of sedition (fitna) who call people to misguidance."

6- He also saw a bull which exited a very small outlet, then was trying in vain to return through that small outlet. Jibril told the Prophet, "This is the example of the bad word--once spoken, it cannot be returned."

7- The Prophet saw people grazing like animals, with very little clothing on their private parts. Jibril told the Prophet, "These are the ones who refused to pay zakat. "."

8- The Prophet saw angels smashing some people's heads with rocks. These heads would return to the shape they had been, and then the angels would smash their heads again--and so on. Jibril told the Prophet, "These are the ones whose heads felt too heavy to perform prayer--the ones who used to sleep without praying."

9- On his journey the Prophet saw people who were competing to eat some rotten meat--ignoring meat that was sliced and unspoiled. Jibril told the Prophet, "These are people from your nation who leave out that which is permissible (halal), and consume that which is forbidden ((haram). "This reference was to the fornicators, that is, the ones who left out the permissible (marriage) and committed sins (fornication).

10- Also, the Prophet saw people who were drinking from the fluid coming from the bodies of the fornicators, (water mixed with blood). Jibril indicated to the Prophet these were the ones who were drinking the alcohol which is prohibited in this world.

11- The Prophet saw people scratching their faces and chests with brass finger nails. Jibril said, "These are the examples of those who commit gossip ((ghibah). "

It is another common misconception among some non-Muslims that Islam would not have the millions of adherents it has all over the world, had it not been spread by the use of force.
The following proofs will make it clear, that far from being forcefully “spread by the sword”, it was the inherent force of truth, reason and logic that was responsible for the rapid spread of Islam.
Islam has always given respect and freedom of religion to all faiths. Freedom of religion is ordained in the Quran itself “Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks.” (Quran 2:256)

The noted historian De Lacy O’Leary wrote: "History makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myths that historians have ever repeated."

Another famous historian, Thomas Carlyle, in his book Heroes and Hero worship, refers to this misconception about the spread of Islam: "The sword indeed, but where will you get your sword? Every new opinion, at its starting is precisely in a minority of one; in one man’s head alone. There it dwells as yet. One man alone of the whole world believes it, there is one man against all men. That he takes a sword and tries to propagate with that will do little for him. You must get your sword! On the whole, a thing will propagate itself as it can."
If Islam was indeed spread by the sword, it was the sword of intellect and convincing arguments that was used. It is only this type of sword that conquers the hearts and minds of people. The Quran says in this connection “Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious”.

The facts speak for themselves:
Indonesia is the country that has the largest number of Muslims in the world, and the majority of people in Malaysia are Muslims. But, no Muslim army ever entered Indonesia or Malaysia. It is an established historical fact that Indonesia entered Islam not due to war, but because of its moral message. Despite the disappearance of Islamic government from many regions once ruled by it, their original inhabitants have remained Muslims.
Moreover, they carried the message of truth, inviting others to it as well, and in so doing endured harm, affliction and oppression. The same can be said for those in the regions of Syria and Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, North Africa, Asia, the Balkans and in Spain. This shows that the effect of Islam on the population was one of moral conviction, in contrast to occupation by western colonialists, finally compelled to leave lands whose peoples held only memories of affliction, sorrow, subjugation and oppression.

- Muslims ruled Spain (Andalusia) for about 800 years. During this period, the Christians and Jews enjoyed freedom to practice their respective religions, and this is a documented historical fact.

- Christian and Jewish minorities have survived in the Muslim lands of the Middle East for centuries. Countries such as Egypt, Morocco, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan all have significant Christian and Jewish populations.
- Muslims ruled India for about a thousand years, and therefore had the power to force each and every non-Muslim resident of India to convert to Islam, but they did not, and thus more than 80% of the Indian population remains non-Muslim.
- Similarly, Islam spread rapidly on the East Coast of Africa. And likewise no Muslim army was ever dispatched to the East Coast of Africa.
- An article in Reader’s Digest ‘Almanac’, yearbook 1986, gives the statistics of the increase of the percentage of the major religions of the world in half a century from 1934 to 1984. This article also appeared in The Plain Truth magazine. At the top was Islam, which increased by 235%, while Christianity had increased by 47%. During this fifty- year period, there was no “Islamic conquest” yet Islam spread at such an extraordinary rate.
- Today, the fastest growing religion in North America, Europe, and Africa is Islam. The Muslims in most of these lands constitute a minority. The only sword they have in their possession is the sword of truth. It is this sword that is converting thousands to Islam.
- Islamic law protects the privileged status of minorities, and that is why non-Muslim places of worship have flourished all over the Islamic world. Islamic law also allows non-Muslim minorities to set up their own courts, which implement family laws drawn up by the minorities themselves. The life and property of all citizens in an Islamic state are considered sacred whether they are Muslims or not.

It is clear, therefore, that Islam was not spread by the sword. The often-alleged "sword of Islam" did not convert all the non-Muslim minorities in Muslim countries. In India, where Muslims ruled for about a thousand years, they are still a minority. In the U.S.A. and Canada Islam is the fastest growing religion and has over seven million followers.
In his book The World's Religions, Huston Smith discusses how the Prophet Muhammad granted freedom of religion to the Jews and Christians under Muslim rule:
The Prophet had a document drawn up in which he stipulated that Jews and Christians "shall be protected from all insults and harm; they shall have an equal right with our own people to our assistance and good offices," and further, "they shall practice their religion as freely as the Muslims."
Smith points out that Muslims regard that document as the first charter of freedom of conscience in human history and the authoritative model for those of every subsequent Muslim state.
