The Baeksang awards are like Oscars where a panel of judges gets to decide the winners. I don't know much about other awards but they are generally considered more credible because you cannot manipulate the ratings and viewership of a drama or movie like in KPOP. KPOP fans cannot force the Korean general public to watch a show and streaming is impossible because Korean award shows only count views coming from locals. What's the difference? I'm not familiar with how shows and movies win. Kpop groups rely on voting and streaming for most awards. It's a popularity contest.
The fans are less obsessive because K-drama actors are not constantly pumping out content and often go on hiatuses. The drama episodes are still for the most part released on a weekly basis which pushes fans to be more patient. There is also no point in stanning a particular actor or actress because then you would be missing out on some very good content released by other actors. All of this makes the drama and movie industry somewhat less toxic than the KPOP Industry.
Many Minho fans who are primarily Kdrama fans might not be interested in streaming his album. Maybe they will check out the MV once or twice but they won't simply decide to Stan him and his whole group because they liked him in a drama. This can affect his sales and views because it means less fans would be willing to mass stream and mass buy his albums.
