Did Jesus really sacrifice himself for your sins?

He didn’t sacrifice himself really though did he? I mean, according to Christians - he didn’t stay dead. He only really sacrificed his weekend for your sins.

Christian theology is kinda pathetic if you ask me.

I'm not really sure they had weekends in the olden days. I think they started those when people were forced to work during the week and then they could look forward to the weekend. There is even a pop song called Working For the Weekend that came out in the eighties that addresses this subject. Also another song called Friday On My Mind does too. I don't think the Elite make a big deal about weekends because they don't have to work. But to get back to your original question let's face the facts that being nailed up on a cross at the very least is an unpleasant experience and no matter why or how who would ever want it to happen to themselves?

I thank Jesus everyday for his sacrifice. I never knew what true peace and happiness was until I found Him. Sending prayers for everyone on this forum. I encourage you, if you don't have peace, to start talking to Him and see what happens. Have a blessed day. Much love

He died. And then was risen. You can call it what you like but it was what it was.

He was whipped and hanged on a cross and stuck through with a lance. He was in a tomb for days and then, was up and being seen by his apostles.

I’m impressed, anyway.

I agree it's sad. Most of "Christian" "faith" is imaginary, fanatical, emotional theories that have no relationship to the Jewish Essene's of the 1st century, let alone the traditional understanding of the Afro-Semitic speaking people of the region where the culture originated.

What we know as Christianity is the same old story of colonizers dominating a narrative, stealing identities, masquerading as disciples and "prophets". Atonement theology and every other degree of christology was propagated by the Herodian Pharisee Saul of Tarsus and it's astonishing how widely his fantastical imagination was embraced by Greco-Roman influenced Europeans.

Here we are today, people still living in their invented fake imaginations and theologies about "Christ". No wonder Christianity as a religion is dying out while Islam flourishes. One religion is a complicated mess of Greek philosophy and mythology, dosed with flasks of spoiled wine. The other is the wisdom of Tawhid- ONENESS. It's much more real to touch the soil and feel the sunlight, giving thanks to the ALL, than every contrived theory shoved in our faces.

Too bad we'll never know if it all actually happened.

If Jesus died for my sins, then that means I can do whatever I want, if we go by that logic because I hear so many Christians go: "Well, you should pray to Jesus and be more thankful because he died for YOUR sins". Ah, really? Did he? That's good to know.
I'm just going to continue doing sins and put it on him anyway. Sounds about fair.

Why would I even WANT for someone else to pay for my sins? My sins are mine to atone for. I'm responsible for them.

No, that is NOT what it means, nor what the Scripture says. What is says is that Jesus, the human son of the virgin Mary was sacrificed for our PAST sins (Romans 3:25). Jesus most certainly did not die to give everyone the freedom to sin (break The Law that God gave us) with impunity, as "Christianity" wrongly teaches.

Romans 3:23-25
3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
3:24 Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
3:25 Whom God hath fore-ordained [to be] an atonement through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins THAT ARE PAST, through the forbearance of God;

It should therefore be self-evident that the ONLY Way to truly accept, understand and follow the true teachings of Christ is to STOP SINNING/BREAKING THE LAW THAT GOD GAVE US.

No practicing "Jew", "Christian" or "Muslim" today is doing that. If any of them were, they would immediately realize that they are in a sect/cult/organized religion, which itself is against The Law, exactly as it says repeatedly throughout The Law, Gospel accounts and the Koran/Quran (e.g. Sura 6:159, 11:17).

1 John 3:4-11
3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also The Law: for sin is the transgression of The Law.
3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our (past) sins; and in him is no sin.
3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he (Christ) is righteous.
3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the Beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever DOETH NOT righteousness is NOT of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
3:11 For this is the message that ye heard from the Beginning (Alpha), that we should love one another.

ALL of us have earned the death penalty under The Law for the sins/crimes that we have committed (see Deut. 28).

NONE of us can pay for those sins/crimes.

NONE of us can truly repent/stop sinning/turn to righteousness until we acknowledge these FACTS and start keeping The Law, exactly as Christ showed us by His Example while He was here inside the body of Jesus. There is no other way home, to heaven.

Learn THE Way home or face The Fire.

But that's exactly what I'm trying to understand here. "Whose sins?" Why should Jesus sacrifice himself for "our" past sins? I don't know. It just seems a little fishy to me. I love people who follow Jesus and his teachings, who go accordingly to his rules and obey his law because just like Moses, Abraham, Solomon, Adam, Mohammed etc., they're all the only way to get to God. I agree with this, but it's just odd that someone like Jesus would sacrifice himself for "our past sins."
It just doesn't add up.

Have you read The Law that God gave us please, found in the first five books of the Bible?

In it there are animal sacrifices required as a punishment for sin/breaking The Law. The animal was sacrificed to both foreshadow "self" sacrifice as well as to provide an incentive not to sin, as a man's wealth was in their livestock, and having to sacrifice one's best breeding stock would be costly both in the short term and in the long term.

"Self" sacrifice is the crucifixion of the human and its ego, through discipline, which needs to take place every minute of every day, to be able to actually do God's Will ("Islam" in Arabic). As long as the self (ego) is in control, it will do its own selfish will.

The crucifixion of Jesus, Whom the immortal Spirit-Being Christ incarnated replaced substitute animal sacrifice with "self" sacrifice. And the resurrection provided this world with proof of God's power to raise Jesus from the dead, and that there is spiritual life after the death of the human body.

God is NOT a hypocrite or a liar, and He has made it crystal clear in His Law that the penalty for sin is DEATH. So how will YOU pay for your past sins/crimes? The SOUL (spirit-Being) that sins shall SURELY die. And anyone who hasn't accepted both the Old Covenant and the New Covenant in their entirety, is calling God a liar (as most so-called Muslims do).

The Koran/Quran repeatedly tells us that it's impossible for the Bible to have been corrupted by puny humans, and that any true believer should not be in doubt of the true Bible reaching them. So anyone who believes differently is calling God a liar, which is breaking the very first Commandment. You cannot call God a liar whilst claiming to love and serve Him with all of your heart, mind, soul and strength.

It just seems a little fishy to me.
Because you've been wrongly taught not to believe God by spiritually blind guides that teach people to oppose God with their silly religious superstitions. ALL organized religion was created by Lucifer/Satan/Iblis to keep people away from God.

I love people who follow Jesus and his teachings, who go accordingly to his rules and obey his law because just like Moses, Abraham, Solomon, Adam, Mohammed etc., they're all the only way to get to God.
Anyone who genuinely loves Father (God) and his or her fellow man will recognize Father's Message of Truth regardless of who delivers the message. The Prophets provide us with a spiritual roadmap to lead everyone to Christ, THE Example that each of us need to be like to be released from this prison planet reform school for the criminally insane.

That's why Christ is the one Father made superior to all others, and chose to send to sort all of this out.

Sura 3:55. Behold! God said: "O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the falsehoods) of those who blaspheme; I will make those who follow thee SUPERIOR to those who reject faith, to The Day of Resurrection: then shall ye all return unto Me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute.

Sura 43:57-61
43:57. When (Jesus) the son of Mary is held up as an example, behold, thy people raise a clamour thereat (in ridicule)!
43:58. And they say, "Are our gods best, or he?" This they set forth to thee, only by way of disputation: yea, they are a contentious people.
43:59. He was no more than a servant ("I came not to do mine own will, but the Will of Him that sent me" - John 6:38): We granted Our favour (Christ) to him (Sura 4:171), and We made him the Example to the Children of Israel (John 14:6).
43:60. And if it were Our Will, We could make angels from amongst you, succeeding each other on the Earth.
43:61. And (Christ the Saviour/Mahdi) shall be a Sign (for the coming of) The Hour (of Judgment): therefore have no doubt about The (Hour), but follow ye Me: this is The Straight Way.

It just doesn't add up.
If Jesus, the Lamb of God, had not been sacrificed in our place, then we would all already be dead according to The Law, having earned the death penalty for our sins, in this lifetime and in every other.

ALL of us have earned the death penalty under The Law for the sins/crimes that we have committed (see Deut. 28).

^^^^^^ If you repent, then you won't be punished.
Agreed. But no one can truly repent while ridiculing and calling God and His Anointed One liars, can they?

Reading this entry of yours is sadder than the others who openly reject Christianity. You have a outward form of godliness, but at best it is built on very weak sand.

Please leave Jahtruth's false bible pseudo-translation, his heresies and personal delusions, and come to the true Jesus Christ. There would be great rejoicing if you - an EXTREMELY lost sheep was born again.

The Bible actually teaches that man is given a new heart and becomes regenerated by the holy spirit at the moment of salvation. Nobody who is truly a new creature in Christ is going to persist in a life characterized by evil. Imagine God giving someone a new heart and them still finding pleasure in sin. It doesnt work that way... The Bible plainly says everyone born of God cannot go in sinning, because Gods SEED(the holy spirit) abides in him.

I would also like to point out that we all need amazing grace. Its by amazing grace that this wicked empire of defiance toward God hasn't been utterly destroyed yet. Gods grace and kindness toward sinful men and even very sinful men is something to celebrate and be thankful for, not something to despise. All are under sin. All have sinned. There is not one good.

...someone like atlantic is no better or more righteous than a thief or a hoodlum. The only righteousness is Christs.

I challenge any of the Jesus "followers" to make sense of the load of theoretical, doctrinal bullshit we classify as Christian theology:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_theology

Whether "special" revelation, the Trinity, Incarnation, homoiousia vs. homoousia, monophysitism vs. dyophysitism, atonement theology (substitution, satisfaction, Christus Victor, etc.) Christian eschatology, Resurrection, Eucharist... it's all unnecessary, foreign contrivances of a bunch of Latin egg-heads who had far too much power and time on their hands.

There was something totally inspired about the lifestyle of the Jewish Essenes in the early era: a rejection of animal sacrifices along with the Pharisee/Rabbinical model of Judaism, the choice of collective ownership, celibacy, and poverty. The first Jewish Christians and apostles at Qumran who collected the Dead Sea Scrolls were the exact same people- apocalyptic, nationalist, and hardcore spiritualists.

The Reformation actually occurred in the 6th century CE when the Quran was revealed through Prophet Muhammad. The asinine idol worship of the Christians, as well as the preposterous "oral law" and racial ideologies of the Jews could be put to rest for good. It's tragic that in their arrogance the white supremacists of Europe refused to acknowledge the original Abrahamic, balanced, sensible understanding of God and life. You can still see the modern-day Crusaders puffing their chests, digging their feet in even deeper- but they will be chased back by God again. I've read whispers that some of the papacy, after Islam arose, knew Muhammad was the 2nd coming of Jesus. They had a chance to humble and boy are we paying for it now.
