Thinking about leaving Christianity

I would also like to note that, because of the compromised and dead condition of the churches that most people dont even get a chance to experience real Christianity(simply put - what Jesus came to establish here on earth). Im in a season in my walk with The Lord where there is no lack of adventure and certainly no boring day. In order to experience the life that Jesus calls us to you first have to get discipled and learn how the kingdom of God works. You have to get equipped and yield to the leading of the holy spirit. God has called each and ever one of his children to a specific mission and he gives the anointing and gifts to carry out that purpose here on earth. Only in discovering what Gods calling is for us and then doing it can we find fulfillment. Reading the Bible and going to church isnt enough or even all that God intended. There are different gifts and callings like hospitality, word of knowledge and exhortation, evangelist, and etc. The more you draw near to God and he equips and readies you the sooner you can walk in your calling and in this experience that fulfillment. Everyone who claims to be Christian should be learning and equipping themselves and receiving discipleship and then asking The Lord what it is that he wants them to be doing. Jesus rejoiced in doing The Fathers will and if you are born again the spirit of Christ Jesus is IN YOU.
I was raised a Christian and I just never felt a thing. I did have an experience of the Sage in the I Ching...

...being raised a Christian is not the same as getting saved and being born again and being indwelt by the spirit of God. Allot of people who claim to be Christian are not truly born again. I was one of those people. I didn't really believe nor did I understand the gospel or what salvation is.

Consider yourself lucky. You obviously felt something. I never felt my sins were forgiven. I never felt or saw "God's love. I never felt comfort. Not until I left the church and got into eastern thought did I really find truth.

In the video below, Ravi had been given an image of the Maharishi he was meant to meet, and the Maharishi had been given a dream with a man with Ravi’s appearance. The conversation they had would have been impossible without this seemingly impossible coalescence of events.

How would you account for this seemingly miraculous incident?

Perhaps its time for you to call upon the name of The Lord and seek him. He is there. All you have to do is humble yourself and allow him and his word to minister to you.

I've outgrown Christianity. I couldn't return to that way of thinking.

Every religion has miraculous incidents. No need to account for them.

If he's real then he doesn't answer everyone. Or seemingly authenticate which beliefs are theologically correct.

He answers. Its just that people dont like the answer or perceive the answer.

I think it is fair to say that every religions claims the miraculous. I suspect that examples of the verifiably miraculous will thin the field somewhat!
You would be mistaken. Your religious claims aren't any more credible than any other religious claims.

Indeed - supernatural manifestation alone in no guarantee of truth…

Exodus 7:10-12 - King James Version

10 And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the Lord had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.
11 Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.
12 For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.

This is a popular belief when people have been raised in 'cultural Christianity' or had a somewhat Catholic upbringing that it is them in heaven and all of us in hell no matter the vile stuff they do
Maybe so but I had neither. I got this information from all the fanatical religious people that post here daily.

In reality, God's looking at the heart never at what one claim to believe and other outward appearance.
So are you saying that as long as a person has a good heart it's irrelevant what he believes? So an atheist with a good heart is as valued as a devout Christian with a good heart? Just to be clear.

If we cut off the whole heaven, hell, heavenly earth ect. to me it is more a matter of would you like to be with someone you Love or not.
I have no belief in heaven or hell, they are places that exist in people's thoughts only and when I pop my clogs I'll be with nobody. These statements you make confuse me somewhat.

My prayer while I was pretty much thinking like you was 'God on the off chance it was possible for me to believe in you, help me to see the good you do in my life' and I can tell i've been rescued from dear situations where it looked pretty much over.
I really shouldn't have went out alive of that hospital 4 years ago when they found out I had blood in my lungs and they couldn't stop the hemorraghe. I saw the reports, my life line was declining and they had to put me in intensive care. I know some folks where praying for me and I thought it was the moment to show some faith but I was struggling and telling myself 'you know so well that's not how life works at all' and I really believed I had to accept my fate.
While I was in a coma, I saw in a dream what I assumed to be an angel I couldn't see his face. It's something i don't want to give too much details because it's very personal and it's still hard for me to speak about without tears coming up.
But you see there are people praying every day, to the same God you do, who's prayers get totally ignored. God doesn't appear to listen. There are very religious people in the world who, right now, are praying that their home doesn't get bombed...or that their loved one gets better, or that their circumstances get better that fall on deaf ears.

I have also cheated death, I could put it down to a miracle that I'm here just like you....and I have never prayed since being a small child. How does this work in your view?

The thing is I have no problem whatsoever with people believing in God or any other deity. But I also believe that a person's faith and relationship with their "creator" should be a private matter, just like somebodies sexuality.

If you're a man that likes having sex with other men that's your business, crack on, but when people start openly talking about their sexual preferences or religious persuasions this is when people start to fall out as there are always going to be people who don't agree with that type of lifestyle.

It's like people who live on this forum who post endless bible passages with their own personal interpretation of it's meaning....why? What are you trying to achieve? If somebody is interested in the Bible guess what?......they read a bible....they don't come on some obscure conspiracy forum hoping to find God.

I've never understood that aspect at all.

Yeah, that's one of the more wild ones.

No, he doesn't. Believe it or not I know of many people who spent years begging for answers and got none. If he's real, he picks and chooses who he reveals himself to.

How do you know God didnt answer them?

For God speaks in one way, and in two, though man does not perceive it. Job 33:14

Because the answer was total silence?
Gods answers are all found in Christ. You reject this truth though and don't consider it to be a legitimate answer. There is a Bible everywhere. Jesus came as the word of God made flesh and the word of God can be found basically everywhere nowadays. Jesus is the word and the word is everywhere. God says "Here I Am" yet people who have hardened and closed off their heart will continue to be blind. People are not interested in Gods answers.

The Bhagavad Gita is everywhere. Krishna is the word made flesh a thousand years before Jesus. You reject Krishna, so you're going to Hindu HELL! Just kidding. Hinduism embraces all religions.

"Whenever there is a decay of righteousness, O Bharata, and a rise of unrighteousness, then I manifest Myself. For the protection of the good, for the destruction of the wicked and for the establishment of righteousness, I am born in every age." -- Krishna
