clove is in the top 3 of the ORAC list of strongest antioxidants, as is cinnamon (but get the real cinnamon). ginger is fantastic for heartburn or stomach indigestion.

i forgot-- for a bleeding cut, try cayenne pepper. works great. this kid cut himself with a hand axe on his shin in the woods. we patched him up with cayenne to stop the bleeding and then used activated charcoal to keep the infection away. he wouldve needed at least 10 stitches.
cayenne bath i have used for a cold too

i could see it work for stones but i'm having a hard time with coke and cleanse in the same sentence :)
Please do in consult with a naturopath for a gallbladder cleanse and I'm not sure if seniors should do them if they haven't before.

For my very first cleanse (several years ago), I had prepared beforehand for a couple-few months with certain herbs targeting the liver (sorry, it was a blend - but you can probably find something similar in the health food store) and Chanca Piedra. Then just prior to the cleanse for 3 weeks, I took 1 glass/day pure organic apple juice (with the pulp).

The cleanse:

though I didn't find the need to drink apple juice afterwards as this website suggests and I have found all stones if any will be passed the next day. The Magnesium Citrate BTW can be picked up at the pharmacy.

No kidding, the very first stone I passed (in a group of stones of quarter/dime-size, etc.) was about 1 inch in l/w/h, very calcified and brown in colour. Over time, the cleanses produced dark green to lime green stones and then finally just mainly liquid. You don't feel well after a cleanse so take it easy for a few days and eat a touch on the lighter side.

How you know you may need a cleanse - dig your fingers underneath the last rib on the right side of your ribcage and see if it's painful or even sore. There's also general symptoms of just not feeling well and you can't put your finger on it.

Ha - well, my guess is it's the caffeine in the Coke and who knows what other reason that it's in the recipe.
We know that Coke is the Real Thing, and it sure makes the cleanse go down better!!
great marketing strategy. that would never fly today-- WAY too many white people featured. coke would be racist.

Aloe Vera Gel people, just beware not all of them can be taken internally!

The Aloe Barbedensis Miller is fantastic for almost anything. If you drink a shot of 30ml a day, chances are very slim that you'll catch a cold again and if you do it will be gone within 3 days max. Aloe cleanses everything out, all the gunk stuck in your stomach and in between the micro villi in your gut, so you'll be regular if you suffer from constipation.

It is a adaptogen, so anti viral, anti fungal, anti bacterial. It helps your body to heal faster, so it takes care of stomach ulcers, mouth problems and even other sicknesses.

There has been placebo studies done showing that Aloe Barbadensis Miller increases your absorption 3 times, so you can cut down on medications after a while. It has 200 active components, 12 Vitamins and 19 essential minerals.

It will help you sleep better, have more energy, it will balance your gut fauna and flora and boost your immunity exponentially.
I have used this, I have seen the testimonies and results so if you can get hold of this I highly recommend it!

Here is a brand I would recommend:

for what ailment?

call me crazy, but i prefer to suffer and deal with the pain unless its excruciating. i like to walk it off. but if there is an infection or something on a person or animal, i use:

a few:

- honey (great antibacterial)
- silver colloid (antibacterial, antiviral)
- activated charcoal (probably THE most important thing to have in your med kit-- needs its own thread)
- valerian root (great for pain-- i dont use it!)
- clay with onion (for yellow jacket/hornet/bee stings-- i dont use, but a loved one did and it helped numb it)
- toothache plant (for toothaches-- helped this one woman. i tried chewing it and it does numb ones entire mouth)
- natural aspirin powder from the plant -- heard about it on a holistic vet podcast-- great for animals and is far far better than the usual stuff. found a small bag of it on amazon for cheap.
I let the body suffer and heal on it's own too.
Boost immunity in my opinion. The human body is capable. With an ailment or injury you can focus on your weaknesses and improve

My husband drinks this religiously, I've always been skeptical about Forever living products but I was converted to their toothpaste and their aloe Vera deodorant sticks.

Thanks for the recommendation I think I'll try the aloe gel, i always seem to catch colds

anyone used/using iodine? Lugol's or nascent?
Haven't heard of the products you mentioned but this was a product we used for a few clients to use at our health office; it could also be purchased in health food stores. I'm sure you could probably find something like this near you. The main ingredient is Atlantic Kelp, and I seem to remember that it should be taken so many weeks on, and a week off?

i take the nascent; 10 drops/day in water in the am. i bought the drops from avatar products-- its sophia smallstorms site. i might get it cheaper on amazon, but i want to support her.

i cant say i notice a difference, but if you are working with any of the halogen elements, its important to take the iodine so that your body does not absorb chlorine, bromine, or fluorine due to its valence charge mimicry of iodine, which is really what the body wants. its similar to taking iodine tablets during a radiation event to protect ones thyroid from the radioactive iodine expelled in the explosion.
iodine is supposed to aid some other biological functions, including thyroid hormone regulation.
