WOW! I know that they have some super-advanced diesel submarine tech that is supposedly second only to ours and in some respects, even superior... but none of them are nuclear powered. If they can ditch the petrol dollar, they might be back on course to becoming a true world superpower WITHOUT an actual nuclear arsenal.
Edit: I know that the Japanese gov. is also heavily investing in solar power for their peoples energy consuption needs.
