Invasion Of Plant Based Foods Conspiracy?

It seems that in the last few years so called "plant based foods" are taking up more shelf space in supermarkets. They always seem overpriced especially anything that has the word "keto" on it. For example I bought a little bag of cookies without looking at the price which wasn't visible thinking at most it would cost $2. I got home and noticed I had been charged $3.99. The weight of the bag was 2 ounces so that means they cost $32 a pound which even considering inflation is pretty ridiculous. I was going to return them but had the munchies so succumbed to temptation. They were very good and contained no sugar which I don't eat. I could easily have eaten two bags. But eight bucks for four ounces I could not justify this expenditure plus I don't like being cheated. But I digress. The main purpose of this thread is the way plant based foods are creeping in the market. I have always avoided veggie burgers but found a box of them at a healthy discount so decided to live dangerously and try them. They were the worst crap I have ever eaten. I tried everything, put a slice of cheese on one. Used a bunch of spices on another and even tried putting gravy on another but nothing helped. I wouldn't even expect a dog to eat this stuff and I know a cat would turn up it's nose in disgust. All I am saying is that if the elites or anyone else expect me to eat this stuff it's not going to happen. And why are they trying to pretend this crap is meat. Are people so stupid now they consider this is meat? I think it is a conspiracy to get people used to eating foods that even dogs don't like. And the crap is overpriced more than meat. I like vegetables as much as anyone else as a side dish but it will be a cold day in Hell before I become a green haired nose ring wearing tattooed Vegan.

This is like asking whether the surge of fitness junkies leads to more gyms being opened or vice versa. I think it's moreso that companies want to capitalize on the increasing demands of a health-crazed public. Whether it is a directed effort by social engineers is not really important because everyone has the capacity to decide what they will do with their lives and we know that generally, companies will not invest in something that will not make them money.

I personally don't mind the vegan food alternatives as it provides more options during fast days, even if they are hardly ever a better substitute for the original thing. I do not think, however, that people should judge others based on what they eat, especially to the point of basing their entire identity around it.

I got lucky today and scored a box of keto fuel candy bars for half price and no sugar. And they taste excellent. BTW candy made by Mars company and Hershey are now made with gmo ingredients as is all mainstream cereal companies such as Kellogg etc.

The veganphobia in THIS thread is just downright disturbing.

Are you not aware that all vegetables, fruits, grains, beans, & nuts are from plants AND/OR tree?

Veganphobia? That's the first time I ever heard that term used. Is that a serious affliction?

Because I don't want to eat veggie burgers that taste like something a dog wouldn't want to eat is a phobia? And why all of a sudden is the term plant based foods everywhere? I have been eating potatoes all my life and now I have to call them "plant based foods "? If I don't want to pay $6 a gallon for gas does that mean I have gasstationphobia? And even if I do have veganphobia are you suggesting that this is somehow a hate crime ? Why can't someone not like something without having it labeled a phobia.

The plant based meat is made of people! People!
I would not be surprised if they did start recycling humans as food. They are cannibals after all.

Plant Based Meats = Dog Food
How dare you make that comparison! Snopes says its *mostly* false and they *debunked* it. But their own article says they are almost exactly the same.
  • Snopes Debunks Claim That Plant-Based Meats Are ‘Indistinguishable’ From Dog Food
    • "In the case of the Beyond Meat burger comparison, both use peas as their source for protein. Indistinguishability is perhaps in the eye of the beholder, but significant differences do exist between the burger-ingredient lists and the dog-food lists.

A broader question, though, is what scientific point does such a comparison serve? One could make a similar argument that the ingredients in high-quality, organic beef dog food are “nearly indistinguishable” from canned beef chili served in the supermarket, but such a comparison wouldn’t be all that illustrative. Indeed, like the Beyond Meat burger and the vegan dog food, the chili and the beef dog food both use the same protein source."

  • The developers created fake meat to look like it *bleeds.*
  • Moo Cantina and Deliveroo Created a Plant-based Steak That "Bleeds"

I tried the impossible burger and YUCK. It was crumbly yet mushy.
